Repajr service

I have, i believe, either a first or second generation 12" chainsaw. For about a year, bIt was one of the most useful tools I own. I sell firewood in the winter and this little saw was great for limbing and whacking smaller stuff down to stove length. A few weeks ago when I tried to use it, the saw belched a little cloud of smoke and I smelled the burnt motor smell. I have had no luck finding anywhere that will work on these. Am I just SOL? I have plenty real chainsaws, I just liked this one because it was quiet and didn't disturb my neighbors like my big gas saws do. Anyway, before I throw it away I thought I would ask here first.

Any ideas?

Maybe I'm wrong for asking this here but I could use some help.

96 Chevy C2500 350 vortec, 196k miles, all appropriate regular maintenance is done on it.

Had a backfire which blew a hole on my upper intake plenum. Replaced, also cleaned throttle body, replaced mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, pcv.

Truck starts, revs up, sputters, dies. I can keep it running, barely, by feathering the throttle. I was able to drive it 70 feet to a more convenient place for a non running vehicle. My code reader spits out between 37 and I think 44 codes, all related to the computer. I clear them, they come right back.

To me it seems like a vacuum leak. But I can't find it if that's what it is.

Any ideas? I don't know where to even go from here. This truck has been how I make a living for 20 years. It ran great right before this happened.

I hope someone can point me in a direction. Thanks.

Question about voltage output

I have an older, small, 900 watt 2 cycle generator that I got for practically nothing. I wanted something that could keep my freezer frozen and my fridge cold and 900 watts is more than enough from my understanding. The unit runs great, no issues there. My question is on the voltage output. My multimeter doesnt have a setting to measure wattage that i'm aware of, so I checked the alternating current. It read between 109 and 104 vac. Obviously thats less than 115 or 120 that my appliances are rated for. What are my options? will it damage my appliances were they running off of my generator? Are there any cost appropriate fixes? Or is this thing going to be relegated to running small power tools when i'm out in the field instead of keeping my half steer frozen at home?

Stacking Strategy

Looking for better ideas for stacking on a slope. The only available area I have for firewood is on about a 15-20° slope. I'm using the cinder block and 2x4 method but I'm finding I have to tilt the stack uphill as the rack fills up to counteract the angle. I've been shimming lower side of the blocks but I just don't think this method is going to work as I'm hoping to put up about 20 cords before winter. The major problem is that if one stack falls it will domino the entire area. Any better stacking ideas? I've dealt with firewood most of my life but lived on flatland for most of it so I'm not really accustomed to dealing with hills. G

He is so focused on his ballroom because he wants the brand new bunker underneath. Why, you ask? Because he's going to start a nuclear war. Have a great morning.

A friend and I have a very small operation, just us two and a small mill. He is very good at getting every bit of lumber out of a log, as well as getting the best looking boards out of a given piece of timber. We have stacks of white and red oak, yellow and white pine, walnut, and several other species on deck. The issue is finding buyers for the product. Advertising on marketplace is borderline infuriating. We have both wasted countless hours dealing with flakey unserious people who almost inevitably end up not buying anything. It is definitely not a quality issue as he is a very talented wood worker with decades of experience. In other words he knows good lumber from crappy stuff. Are there resources available for connecting producers with buyers? Some classified ad type websites or something similar? We use a lot of what we mill for various projects, but if we could sell just 25-50% of what we produce it would be a huge help in keeping us going on some of the work we do. How do you guys who are running mills move your lumber? We never had ideas of getting wealthy doing this, but to earn enough to finance our modest projects. In case it wasn't clear, neither of us are good at self promotion. We arent wired that way. Probably makes us lousy business men too but it is what it is.
