We need to insist that West Yorkshire Police tell Marti Blagborough either he deletes those videos immediately or he will be arrested. They must have a telephone number for him, he is in trouble with them often enough.

Those videos (now the 5th and 6th in the Shorts section if you visit his YouTube channel) both explicitly show the most disturbing violent act I have ever seen on the open Internet, by far, plus they glorify perpetrating such violence against migrants.

This is completely unacceptable. We must make sure the police have archived these videos as evidence. He should be jailed for these videos, they are completely disgusting. If anyone can think of a way to get the police to act please either share here or just do it.

EDIT: To be clear make sure to find Marti Blagborough's YouTube channel and find the Shorts section. The fifth shows the attack itself (thumbnail man on ground), fourth is celebrating it in the most disgusting way (thumbnail of a goat), comments are even more disturbing if that is even possible.

We need to get action taken about this. Regardless of what, if anything, was done about the violent attack itself, promoting violence in the way these videos do requires swift action from the authorities as a crime in its own right.

If anyone knows how to make evidential quality archives of these videos before they are deleted, please do. Contact the media, police, anyone you can think of. A message needs to be sent that this is unacceptable.

Marti lives in Leeds. For the avoidance of doubt the authorities need to deal with this rather than individuals visiting him. However, for reporting purposes, his address is available via Companies House. Searching for Marti Blagborough, Leeds finds him.

He has made recent videos that clearly indicate that he is still at the address you will find for the business he registered a few years ago. This will help you report him to the authorities for inciting racial violence, which he is clearly doing in these disgusting videos.

Spread this far and wide. Get the media on him which will force the police to take action. He should be locked up for this. We do need to make sure the videos have been recorded as evidence before they are deleted. Please do what you can now, into this evening. Anyone can call 101 and ask for West Yorkshire Police.

Think outside the box. Do you know any journalists? Do you, or does anyone you know, have friends in the police, Searchlight, Hope not Hate? If you are part of any other communities please get this out there to them. Let's make a noise until action is taken.

I just heard him being interviewed on BBC News, asserting, as though it made sense, that he is confident he was not required to declare the £5m.

The reasons he gives never address the criteria for registration, which includes requiring "members to register financial interests and benefits that might reasonably be thought to influence their actions, speeches or votes".

To spell it out, it makes zero difference what he says the money was about. It is incredibly obvious that many people might think it could influence him, and that would be true even if we weren't aware how he'd been lobbying the Bank of England with respect to Tether, the largest sharehold of which is his donor.

I wish more people could pay attention, think for themselves, and understand how he is either being very stupid or very dishonest, or both, and that neither of these are attributes you want present in someone anywhere near government.

As I understand it, the current modus operandi is that, each week, up to 50 migrants, who have arrived in England by small boat, are sent back, and exchanged for 50 who, instead, opted to join a waiting list for the scheme.

In practice, only 4% of such migrants are returned in this way. Every time it is mentioned, people seem to suggest the scheme has little deterrent effect, and some suggest the scheme has failed.

What confuses me is why, instead of detaining a small percentage to be sent back under the scheme, and allowing the rest to remain while their claims are procesed, why not detain everyone, to be returned under the scheme, albeit at the rate of 50/week for the time being?

Is there a reason it is legal to detain a small percentage to be returned, but, somehow illegal to detain everyone until they can be returned? If the authorities were able to do this, it would seem likely the boats would stop coming, as there would be no point, and then, even at 50/week, eventually everyone would be returned.

I am thinking of suggesting this idea to my MP, but would prefer to avoid looking foolish, so, if anyone can see a legal impediment to this approach, please, do, share it here. Thank you.

Every other election in my lifetime, except one, nearly 50 years ago, when Bobby Sands was starving himself to death in a prison cell, the winning candidate has made a speech, thanking the police, the returning officer and his staff and volunteers.

Mostly these elections have been called by a Prime Minister as a General Election, or someone has died. However, in this case, the only reason the election took place was because the candidate who won went through a ludicrous procedure of asking to be appointed to a Crown Office, thus forcing a by-election, only to resign from that Crown Office to run and be re-elected.

So, in short, unlike most elections, this one only took place because the winning candidate forced it to, and yet he, uniquely, decided not to turn up and thank everyone. He mentioned the police, but, instead of thanking them, he made up a completely nonsensical, fabricated "credible threat" they had informed him of, giving them yet another headache, causing them to have to issue a denial.

It was a really hot day, evening and night. The ballot papers were unwieldy. The election staff and volunteers did a great job dealing with all this, yet this popinjay could only winge and moan about everything. Not a word of thanks for what he put everyone through.

2024 General Election Clacton declared around 4am but, this by-election has a few challenges. The ballot papers are huge and unwieldy so difficult to deal with. Many are speculating this could result in a much later declaration time. What do you all think?
