I’ve requested this before. Hopefully it’s in the works.

I listen to 12 music podcasts to discover and buy new music. On average, it’s 40 minutes of music for every 20 minutes of host talk. I very rarely care for what the hosts say, and if my hands are free I fast-forward.

I wish there was a feature to detect and skip speaking voice in music podcasts (and vice-versa).

(Alternatively, does anybody know of a podcast player with that specific feature?)

I’ve found an apartment online. My mum and sister met the realtor and visited the apartment. I’ve exchanged WhatsApp messages and emails with the realtor. I’ve filled and signed an offer. So far everything seems legit. If the owner approves the offer, I’ll need to wire the deposit to secure the apartment. And that’s the scary part. Unlike some credit cards, wires have zero recourse.

Any tips to prevent being scammed? I’ve never seen the apartment, never met either the realtor or the landlord. It’s all on faith.

My little sister is coming to SF for a very short stay. She’s Italian. It’s her first time in California. She’s simple and casual.

I’ve four large items on Craigslist, Market Place and Next Door. In very good shape, etc, asking cents on the dollar. Zero interest.

I’ve already made two runs to the thrift store with small stuff. More coming.

Other than putting on the Free Stuff of Craigslist or on the sidewalk, what do you do with large items when you move abroad? Like bed frame, dresser, desks, tables, etc. It’s used, yet in good shape. I can’t carry them out.

We are moving abroad. (We will miss SF, the Bay Area, NorCal. 😕)

We have a few pieces of art (and decor and furniture) we want to sell. Any art consignment shops in the area?

The first is an instrumental in episode two when the kids are running from the police. The second in episode five during the second dance scene on a soul tune sung by a woman vocalist.

For Americans that still have their American number on an eSIM and their new Italian number on an eSIM. When it came time to upgrade or replace your iPhone, did you buy an iPhone from America and had it shipped to Italy, or did you buy it in Italy? From a pure technical point of view, what works best to move the American number eSIM and carrier between iPhones when you’re no longer in America? I’m thinking of possibly losing 2FA, texts, etc. Grazie.

If you believe the internet and AI, even qualified HSA withdrawals are treated as income in Italy. Further, it seems the best strategy is to cash out before moving, and buy T-Bills, BOT, BTP and other government securities.

That’s the question. For those with HSAs, what seemed the best strategy, what would you have done differently?

There’s a rule at the SFPL that automatically rejects suggested purchases of music titles older than five years. That’s fair. A proper library must promote new stuff.

Yet the SFPL routinely replaces Miles Davis, The Beatles, Maria Callas, etc. Also fair. A proper library must have classics.

And sometimes older titles of mid-range artists appear in the catalog. (Perhaps donation.)

Does anybody know how and who decides what’s worth bending the five-year cutoff rule?
