I’m a Secular Muslim who believes in Jewish Right to Return to the land of Ancient Israel and Judaea. I am also fully anti-Zionist. I’d like you to see what I see.

I find that Zionists seem to avoid talking about this perspective like the plague on reddit. I’m hoping here at least, there are those that understand what’d being said by the title alone.

But to explain a further, the first thing that makes the rest of the logic happen is the idea that states don’t naturally have the “right to exist” at the expense of the rights and freedoms of individuals. A Muslim state doesn’t have the right to impose Sharia law on those that don’t agree with the theocratic basis not rooted in empirical reality, a majority-white state doesn’t have the right to exclude or even deport people based on their brown or black skin color in order to enforce whiteness only because it’s whiteness, and in the same vein Israel does not have the right to remove people from their homes and kill innocents to preserve a quasi-ethnic Jewish majority and expansion since its founding. All of this should be Secularism 101, and yet? If you want to talk Arabs, then I would also say that the UAE and Saudi doesn’t have the right to make slaves out of Indians for 20 years and then deport their children who were born and raised there, or create second-class citizens out of non-Muslims including Jews. It is something that applies to all countries everywhere. The rights of the individual are the default. A state’s right to invoke the monopoly of violence is invoked only when individuals are in the process of violating other individuals, or if other states and groups are in the process of violating the state’s people.

Once you understand this, then you can also understand how secularists see any colonial or genocidal activity. Just as someone who has a crime done against him is owed recompense for the injustice upon him, so too are those affected by imperialism and genocide owed something. This means pretty explicitly that I believe Jews, as descendants of multiple ethnic cleansings and genocides in the ancient land of Israel, have a right to return as means of reparation or restitution for that exact crime. That would be fine if there weren’t now millions between 1918 and now affected by the whole land theft thing, or unjust exile (nakba, etc.), or being a non-citizen with no rights in a country that your family has lived longer in, or even being an innocent person in Gaza killed as “collateral damage” (they don’t believe an innocent Palestinian life is equal to an innocent Jewish life).

I’ve literally WANTED Zionism to mean “The Jewish Right to Return” due to them being genocided from that land, really badly, but it is Zionists themselves that insist in the whole “Jewish State” thing. Very bizarre. I want to know what it would take for Jews to see what I’m seeing in this logic. The vast supermajority of Jews are still zionists. It makes no sense.

My greatest fear is that the Global North will “enjoy” warmer temperatures outside of Summer while the rest of the world burns for the industrial actions of said Global North

While Europeans are hating the heat this summer, I fear what comes next. A bunch of climate deniers are, instead of accepting human-made climate change, going to somehow move in a different direction. This includes deflection, acceptance, etc. but one specific thing really makes me angry thinking about. A person who lives somewhere that historically had snow-bearing winters might actually find a less cold winter pleasant, as would be the case for fall and spring too. Even from a farmer’s point of view, global warming might extend the growing season of crops from an earlier spring to later fall that can otherwise tolerate the summer (like tomatoes and okra).

The global north might find “objective” benefits to burning people at the equator, all while getting militant about climate-based immigration in the future and being the primary reason for it to begin with.

When I wear XXLs, it’s great on the chest and belly, but the seam of the shoulder sleeve is usually too far out and reduces arm mobility. When I wear XLs, I have better arm mobility but tightness on the chest (belly is ok). What should I do? XXLT Didn’t work today.

I am 6’3” and 260 pounds. I would consider myself fat-fit but for this purpose I’ll just say fat.

I wear XXLs because I can somewhat tolerate baggy shoulders over chest and belly tightness with XLs. I tried an XXLT today and the issue of the shoulder was actually worse. When I lift my arms to the sides at all, the armpit part doesn’t stay in my armpit by lifts up a lot, and the sleeve pulls down on my arm until I pull the armpit/shoulder seam towards my head. Literally, an XXL but the seam actually rests in my armpit and before, not on or after my shoulders, would be the best. Is such a thing possible? I will try to find an XLT soon but I fear even that might not address the fact that I might have narrower shoulders for my size or something.

Is digital information more fragile than Cuneiform on clay tablets?

Sometimes I wonder about this. Will all the old information on the internet or otherwise offline actually be in more danger of being lost 1000-3000 years from now vs physical media including clay tablets and stone which holds our oldest information that anthropologists have access to?

I wish we could get a weekly digest of artists we follow's releases on Bandcamp instead of having our email inundated with emails

I just thought about this and wanted to see how others felt. I follow 100s of artists on Bandcamp at this point, and some of them release albums or EPs very, very often; to the point that it has actually become a bit of a nuisance having so many Bandcamp emails in my inbox now. The problem is, there is no way stop getting notification emails from certain artists that I like that are releasing often this way, without either unfollowing the artist entirely, or turning off all notifications of new releases for all followed artists, so I just keep it on for now.

But I do wish there was a way to fix this problem. If having the option to turn off notifications on an artist-by-artist basis isn't easy to implement, maybe having a weekly digest of followed releases is? I noticed in the Fan Settings for notifications that a digest is possible for Fan activity, but that doesn't cover all artist accounts, does it? Could I just uncheck every notification box except that and get a lower amount of emails? Otherwise, it would be nice to have the option to have a weekly total digest, or customize notifications per-artist.

There are so many racists online, but where are they IRL? It freaks me out

There is so much racism I see all the time against Indians and black people on twitter for example. And these posts get 10s of thousands of likes and no pushback even when fantasizing about ethnically cleansing me. But where are they IRL? I would love to change minds, if only I could actually talk to them. Otherwise, it feels like I’m getting more and more scared I’m being judged on the racial level when I’m in public now

It’s incredibly bizarre when you’re listening to a video certainly narrated by a real person but you notice the script was ChatGPT generated anyways. Just, why?

It takes 30 seconds to figure out and then the whole video feels annoying to listen to even when it’s something that should be interesting. Hell the speaker might have gathered the research for the video genuinely without much AI and still ChatGPT’d the script. Ridiculous

Does anyone know if these Offers were actually given as +1 Miles each or?

I have been using the Ebay Offer through the App that says 5x miles, but upon buying I have seen the transaction give 2x likes normal, and only an email about the Offer going through. But then I see this in the Activity section under Rewards.

Is this actual? I want to say not but I can’t tell for sure. Is this the Payout? How would I tell for sure?

The Twitter Algorithm is so single-minded now

If you like or retweet even one thing related to X on your For You page, you get dozens of that thing specifically next time, before a stray unrelated thing Y comes along and suddenly the whole feed pivots hard to that instead. It’s crazy how simple it has become while still pushing absurd stuff unrelated to your interests on the For You page otherwise

What vegetable have you decided you just aren’t going to grow anymore?

This year I think I’ve realized I don’t want to waste space growing Collards again because even when my other disease prone plants are doing ok, it’s this one that’s getting destroyed every year despite being a large and impressive plant.

What plants have you sworn off after some point this year, or in the past?

What's the point of loving China as a non-ethnically Chinese person if you could never live there?

I do wonder this from time to time. I could move to China as someone who is already a professional, work for 15 years without much interruption, have a child who is already being born and raised in Chinese culture, and have enough money to own my own home and answer only to my employers in my private life (take no real money from the government, only give taxes), and yet I could be deported at any time in that process. What's the point? I'm sure this is 10x the question that some people from poorer countries whom are capable ask themselves in China, like Vietnamese.

Edit: And I really don’t mean this in an abrasive political way. But I find it disappointing that such a thing is legitimately not an option because the mental calculus doesn’t work. For me, it is a casual thing, but there are probably those where such a thing is potential-limiting.

This is my second year growing Okra in the garden. The Okra from last year grew to be 6 feet tall, but because the pods grew so often, many became long and fibrous by the time I got to them. Over the season, I kept reducing the amount of days between harvest until I realized I should pick them out every evening after work if I’m to keep up.

I still think I’ll have long fibrous Okra this year, and I don’t want to waste them like last year. I haven’t found anything online about trying to salvage long Okra though. Is there really nothing that can be done?
