Visitors kissing baby

What are your rules regarding kissing your baby? I thought it was obvious to not kiss someone else’s newborn but 80% of my visitors have done it and I’ve had to explicitly say don’t … it’s bothering me and now I don’t want to have anyone over minus immediate family because it’s started to give me too much extra anxiety.

I had a high risk pregnancy, preemie and NICU time so I think it bothers me even more that people just take it upon themselves to kiss him multiple times (on the head/ forehead). One of them was my close friend (who has two toddlers) and now I’m harbouring so much resentment even though I know it’s not fair cause I never explicitly said to not .. (moving forward I will be telling everyone NO KISSING)

Am I being unreasonable or dramatic?

Screaming 1-5 am and asleep all day

Someone please help me understand why my baby screams and fusses 1-5 AM every night then is so
sleepy and chill all day.

Google says gas but then why only at night? Google also says they get days and night mixed up but ok what does that have to do with her screaming all night?

Is this normal? What can I do? I’m desperate

TW: success after RPL

Hi all,

I told myself if I ever had success I would come back to this sub and write my story to help others or to incite some sort of hope in dark times.

My first miscarriage was found at my first ultrasound when there was no heart beat. I should have been 11 weeks but the embryo was only measuring 6 weeks, I didn’t pass it naturally so I needed a dnc .. this was easily one of the darkest times of my life. We didn’t try for a year after that and when we did I had a chemical pregnancy at around 4w4. One year later we tried again and I got pregnant and miscarried naturally around 6 weeks. I spent a lot of time over these years researching how to have success and wondering if it would ever happen for me or if this pain was all for nothing.

All of these pregnancies were conceived on the first try which I think made the doctors dismiss me as most fertility doctors like to treat those who have a difficult time getting pregnant rather than staying pregnant. During these three years I did various testing on and off with my family doctor, different naturopaths and fertility doctors which included hormones, autoimmune screening, blood clotting, ultrasounds, gut tests, AMH, karyotyping and my partner had DNA frag and sperm analysis - eveything came back normal minus slightly low AMH for my age which doesn’t matter much unless you do IVF. I have always had very painful periods so I assumed I had endometriosis and after waiting a very long time (Canada) to see a specialist I finally got in and had laparoscopy surgery almost exactly a year ago … to my dismay no endometriosis was found, nor was any polys or fibroids. I was at a pretty big low thinking 1. My pain will never go away or be explained and 2. No answers for my miscarriages. After surgery we decided we’d try for 6 months and if no success I’d freeze my eggs as I was 35 and then do IVF. I took one round of doxycycline after my surgery just in case I had an infection and me and my partner both took prenatals and VIT D. 4 months after my surgery I wound up pregnant and it stuck! Once I had a positive test I took baby aspirin every night, 400 progesterone, 5mg prednisone, Pepcid, Claritin and my prenatals - I took all these minus the progesterone via my own research as my fertility doctors weren’t helping me minus saying keep trying naturally or let’s do IVF tho it probably won’t work (since I was getting pregnant naturally easily with no known cause for losses)

I wish I could say my pregnancy was anxiety free but that would be a lie, it was completely stressful and I had a lot of complications (nothing to do with RPL). RPL strips so much joy away from you, but I am happy to say that I’m typing this while my beautiful daughter is sleeping in her bassinet beside me. I know a happy ending isn’t guaranteed for everyone but I am so relieved that I didn’t give up when I so wanted too after the agonizing pain recurrent loss is.

I’m sorry for everyone who has had to experience this pain. If you have any questions I am happy to answer them. Sending you all love and please be kind to yourself during these times 🫶🏼

Any tips on how to make the pricks hurt less?

Newly diagnosed at 31 weeks. Today was my first full day of tracking my blood sugar 4x a day and I still find the needle pokes so painful .. any tips?

Also if anyone has tips on lowering fasting numbers? That seems to be my only issue.

Thanks!
