Issues with Dashing Diva

Anyone notice issues with DD adhering lately? For every one good set, I get 2-3 duds that are clunky thick and peel off within a few hours.

I don’t think it’s my technique because I have no issues with Ohora or Lilly and Fox - I usually get 7-8 days (I work in healthcare so the handwashing and sanitizer takes a toll). It’s annoying because DD fits my nails best.

Slynd optimism ⭐️: update

Slynd optimism ⭐️

I posted earlier in the week about starting Slynd versus Yaz. I had my appointment on Friday and decided to trial Slynd.

By chance I ovulated on Thursday and started Slynd on Friday night. *It’s only been 2 days* but I already feel more level - less like the world is gray and that I’m in a fog, the way I normally feel right at the start of luteal.

I keep checking in with myself to see if I’m feeling anxious or depressed. I definitely feel less irritable.

I’m cautiously optimistic! Send me good vibes 😎 I’ll check back in a few weeks.

**9 days later update:**
Still feeling really good on Slynd. I went on vacation with my husband during luteal and *we didn’t fight once* and I really genuinely was in a great mood all weekend. I didn’t drink too much to fight the grayness, didn’t have any pee anxiety or impending doom leaving the house. I genuinely had joy? Can’t wait to continue Slynd and not ovulate next month!!

Slynd versus Yaz

Hello! Wanted to get some input on starting Yaz versus trialing Slynd first.

On paper I’m low risk for Yaz- (barely) under 35, normal BMI, normotensive, non-smoker. But the DVT/PE risk still freaks me out. Also, my dad was a medical malpractice lawyer and I remember the Yaz/Yasmin cases he worked on in the 2000s.

Is it worth trialing Slynd first to see if the “safer” option works for me? Do I just go ahead and do Yaz because the relative risk of a VTE event is still lower than, say, in pregnancy? My gyn appointment is Friday and I feel stuck.

I thought I was in remission

I didn’t develop PMDD until I was 25-26. At that time it was peak COVID and I was working nights as an inpatient RN. I was also drinking more alcohol in general than I had been, it being COVID. I had the Mirena IUD but switched to Paragard copper because I (probably mistakenly) thought that the hormones were making things worse. My luteal symptoms were passive SI, painful edema of my thighs, disassociation, obsessive rumination, insomnia, irritability and generally being emotionally abusive to my poor husband. I started Zoloft - initially 25 mg luteal only- the switched to full-time 50 mg, intermittently 75 mg during luteal. In the past few years got off of night shift, sleep better, exercise 4+ times per week and generally have felt more functional and balanced. In 2024 I switched back to Mirena because I was tired of the heavy bleeding.

After a particularly difficult year in my family and marriage, I’m looking back and realizing that I thought that my PMDD was managed - that I was in remission so to speak. I see a therapist. I don’t yell anymore, I don’t pick fights. But I’m realizing that even though I feel more at peace, more aware of my moods with Zoloft, I have still been silently suffering during luteal for years. I made an appointment to talk about Yaz with my OBGYN. I’m scared but excited for the possibility of finding peace.
