Did a real double take at Mary McAleese's feet here - it's comical that these are the 'less weird' or 'normal' shoe options lol

It looks like they chopped off her feet and stuck little triangles on the end of her legs

Weirdly sad about seemingly nice things

I am wondering if this is a common autistic experience or if it's just me. Sometimes when there's a really simple, innocent good thing happening I feel overcome and want to cry. For example: my daughter is 5 and nearly halfway through her first year of school. Yesterday she was going through the toy necklaces in her jewelry box and I asked why. She said that if she gets 10 stamps for 'trying hard with my learning' she is allowed to pick a reward, and she was up to 9. She was going to pick show and tell, so she was choosing her favourite necklace. She ran through the other rewards, and as she listed them I was so overwhelmed by how small they were and how big and structured school must feel for such a tiny person who is trying so hard. They could eat snacks at their desk, pick a song for the whole class to listen to or bring in something and do show and tell. I cried! Does anyone else react like this?
