Saphir Creme Universelle

Have you used it? do you recommend it as conditioner?

For how well known Saphir is, I find very little information about this cream compared to other of their products like the Renovateur.

I am currently putting together my shoecare routine which so far looks like: Saphir Creme Universelle + Saphir Surfine, for easy regular maintenance

Additionally I am getting Fiebing's Saddle Soap + Saphir Renovateur + Bick 4, for bringing back to life old dry leather since I like to trift and buy vintage.

Some people in other forums recommended me to let go Saphir Creme Universelle and just use Bick 4 since I am getting it anyways, but to me Creme Universelle seems to be more rich than Bick 4, isnt it? this is specially relevant to me since I also plan to use the contiditioner on bags.

I am looking forward to your comments!

Crossbody bag strap leaving residue

I got a second hand leather bag from Gusti Leder (link to model) and the strap leaves a brown residue when I rub it with a paper towel. I tried cleaning the whole bag with saddle soap + conditioner, since the leather was oily to the touch as well. The oily problem is solved, but the issue with the strap leaving residue is still there.

What can I do to solve this? I dont want to wear it and damage my clothes :(

Bottle opener in Swiss Card Nailcare

For me the swiss card nailcare is a near-perfect edc only for the fact that it doesnt have a bottle opener, and ironically, the tool I rarely use is the nail file.

I am looking for a bottle opener that can fit the receptacle of the nail fail (78x10x2mm). Has anyone came up with ideas or a product that can do this? or maybe any other way of adding a bottle opener to this swiss card?

I even made a design in CAD and was looking to get it lasercut in 304, but all quotes I get are exorbitant (>80EUR). I also saw the blog of a guy who cut the holder of the scissor to also be used as bottle opener, but I dont like this solution since the scissor is probably my most used tool from the kit.

Watch approach check-up and advice

I am not a watch guy but I like a timeless classic look. Currently my mind is set on having 3 watches: one for sporty activities, one for everyday, and one for formal events. Right now I have a timex weekender T2N654 with nato strap as the sporty one, and a casio MTP-B145 in green as the everyday one.

Which one would you recommend as a formal watch in the same pricerange (50-100USD)? I am main looking for black leather strap, silver metals, and no larger than 38mm

What do you think of my approach in general?

Noob Project ideas with scrap leather

Hello all, I got this piece of leather from a former key pouch whose mechanism got broken. Since the item itself had sentimental value, I am looking at ways I can repurpose this leather to continue to hold to it in my day-to-day life.

For this I would like your input! My only feasible idea is a bookmark, which I might use in the future but not now. I thought about a single pen pouch, but I feel the leather is too thin for that. A keyring would not get used since I use keypouches all the time.

I have never worked with leather other than polishing shoes :P but I am quite crafty and have tools and experience with woodworking and sewing. I am not afraid of taking in an mid-level project, but my constrain is that I dont want to get an specialized tool just for this.

I am looking forward to read your ideas!
