I cannot get rid of them no matter how many times I swat them they don’t like the glue strips and idk how they keep appearing.

I’m trying to install Lubuntu on an old HP laptop (originally Win7, now only Lubuntu 24.04).

- USB made with Rufus (MBR, “BIOS or UEFI”, fixes for old BIOS, ISO mode).
- In BIOS: UEFI mode**, Secure Boot disabled,**SATA = AHCI, HDD is first in boot order.
- I boot from USB with F12, run the Lubuntu installer and choose “Erase disk and install Lubuntu(second install attempt)” (minimal install).

Weird part:

- With the USB plugged in, the laptop boots into the installed Lubuntu on the HDD (Bulgarian language we set earlier), so the OS is definitely there.
- If I shut down, remove the USB, and power on, it says “No bootable device”, even though BIOS shows the HDD first and the installer sees the existing Lubuntu install.

Any idea how to fix this it loaded the first time we tried it now it switches to a black screen with a single line to write code at different points (even in safe graphics)

I’m installing Lubuntu on my friend’s dad’s old Windows 7 laptop.

We made a Lubuntu USB with Rufus on Windows (selected the USB, selected the ISO, left all other settings at default, clicked Start).

On the laptop, the BIOS was first set to Legacy boot, and in Legacy mode the laptop did not detect the USB in the boot menu.

We then went into BIOS and changed boot mode from Legacy to UEFI After that, the USB was detected.

We booted from the USB in UEFI mode, chose “Install Lubuntu”, selected the option to erase the whole disk and install Lubuntu, and completed the installation. At the end it said:

“Please remove installation media and press Enter.”

We removed the USB, pressed Enter, the laptop rebooted, and then it showed:

“No bootable device” (no operating system found) instead of starting Lubuntu.

Ai I not giving me a straight answer we just need it to boot we installed and set up everything

I want a boot that will protect me in most scenarios so I thought an adventure boot it protects in the most type of scenarios road asphalt plus offroad.

These are some of the ones I’ve been looking over D30 apparently the safest but doesn’t have the one last protection feature which is an exoskeleton in case the bike falls in my leg otherwise apparently they have most of the protection features.

I had this old family PC that was an all-in-one with a built-in touchscreen, running Windows 7. Over time, the touchscreen got so bad that it barely worked at all.
I decided to install Lubuntu after it was recommended by Perplexity. I was originally thinking about Linux, then realized Lubuntu is basically a lightweight Linux distribution.
After installing it, the touchscreen started working again, which really surprised me. I also discovered that the PC actually supports WiFi and Bluetooth, which I didn’t even know before.
The only downside is that some of the side buttons, like volume and media controls, still don’t work

But otherwise I’d probably install it on all old devices to make them usable again.

Hello, I bought this MacBook for €100. It already had a working version of macOS installed, but I wanted to do a factory reset just to be safe since I don’t know what the previous owner may have changed.
I erased the HDD in Disk Utility and tried reinstalling macOS through Internet Recovery, but I keep getting this error (the recovery server could not be contacted).
I’ve already checked that the date and time are correct (I also set them manually), and the Mac is connected to Wi-Fi.
Is there a way to fix this, or do I need to create a bootable USB installer on another Mac? I have access to a 2017 Mac if needed. The MacBook I bought is from around 2010/2011. High sierra Any help would be appreciated!

I got a LG monitor for cheap 40 euros 34UC99-W and it came with no charger I need the adapter I look but most are more expensive than the monitor like 200 euro or 100 some second hand options are out there I preferred one it came today and I got scammed.
Idk what to do anymore maybe get an adapter and a connector transformer?
