Anyone else have one of these?

It's a spectralight cnc lathe built on top of a sherline. It looks to have been redone by forest scientific.

Thought her on Facebook marketplace so I don't have the original PC or control software. My understanding is that foredt scientific's velocity CNC software is basically just a reskin of centroid, so I downloaded cnc12 and have successfully connected to it and it said it was updating the firmware, but I haven't been able to jog any axes or anything because it says the eusttop is being held down.

And the configuration wizard it doesn't show any of the safety inputs or any inputs at all connected to each i o, so I think I will need the config file from Forest scientific. I can probably hopefully get that from tomorrow but just thought I would check here to see if anyone has one of these and has any advice or can help me at all.

Better performance than I ever expected to get on the Genmitsu 3030 prover max

Just upgraded to closed loop NEMA 17s that are a bit longer than the stock motors, twice the torque, and 1.5kw air cooled vfd spindle upgrade. So not stock but still much more than I expected to get out of the frame even just from rigidity.

Some cuts are 4000mm/min, 6mm depth and 0.2mm radial. Others here are 3000mm/min, 0.3mm radial

I remember a year ago before I got this machine hearing about how you can't mill on a genmitsu. It can definitely be done, even decently well with upgrades. With the 710w trimmer router and stock motors I was going like 1800mm/min and 0.2mm radial. Still usable but much less.

Weird alarm issue when manually jogging?

I was trying to manually cut the sides flat on my stock so that probing would be a constant in them, and while cutting them using the jog on gsender, I keep running into this issue where it alarms, freezes for a second, and stepper motors all turn off (assuming because the z axis falls down a mm or two) and then they turn back in and it thinks it's still at z0.

Not seeing any alarms or errors in the console. I am taking a deeper axial cut than I usually do at 1 inch, but also only like 0.02mm step over, so couldn't imagine it's pulling too much current or anything. Anyone know what might be happening?

Z motor failing mid job

Genmitsu 3030 prover max, gpenny air cooled 1.5kw spindle

A few days ago i had an issue where my z stepper motor would die/fail mod job. I was doing a test job on air today to see if it would happen again and I noticed the fan wasn't running at all, so I decided to open up the controller box, because I'm assuming that is why the motor is failing as I am in a hot Texas summer garage and the z motor is holding up a big spindle.

What should I be looking for on my board here? I already tested the fan motor with an external power supply to make sure the fan didn't die and it worked so it has to be something wrong with the boards 12v power supply I'm guessing? I don't see any obvious loose wiring

I will also say that I think something may be wrong with my 5v power on this board because it no longer supplies power to my probe so I had to rewire it to an external power supply

Z motor failing

I was running a helical interpolation operation and 2 times in a row my z stepper motor stopped working. It ended up failing while in a hole and my machine tried to leave the hole and go to the next one and snapped my bit and damaged my bed :/.

It is in a garage in the summer in texas, but it's also at night and I have a fan going. So maybe it's thermal failure, but I've been using this machine for 6 months no issue. Only thing I can think of is that I have a heavier spindle than the machine came with but again I've done plenty of operations and had no issue. Do I need to take the controller box open and inspect it or is this a common issue?

Machine is a genmitsu 3030 prover max, with NEMA 17s. It has a 1.5kw vfd spindle, I'm was already thinking of upgrading to NEMA 23s anyway soon

How close to 0° square do I need my vise to be trammed to?

Genmitsu 3030 prover max

Ok so I'm using my probe to probe 2 spots on the right side of my vise at 120mm apart in the y axis, using the difference in the probe x values, I can calculate the rise over run between the 120mm points to get the angle.

I started at like 0.107° tilt, 0.224mm over 120mm.

After using my mallet to lightly tap and redoing it a few times, I'm down to 0.0606mm over 120mm, so a total tilt angle of 0.0289°.

My question is, how close to perfectly trammed (0°) do I need to get before it is good enough for my machine? Genmitsu claims 0.02mm accuracy for the machine, although I'm assuming it isn't always going to hit that, but given that theoretical value, how close to trammed does it have to be for the tilt to be negligible?

The repeatability of my probe is about a range of 6 microns so I'd assume that once I get below about 10 microns of x value difference, that would be the max I could even tram in terms of actually knowing what the tilt is

How do these speeds and feeds look/sound?

Does this look and sound ok? 1/4 spetool 1 flute, 8mm DOC 0.2mm step over, 0.06mm/tooth at 24k rpm so I believe that's like 1440mm/m.

With this new gpenny spindle I can more reliably hot 0.2mm step over, it really had to stay at 0.1 with the 710 trimmer I used to have. I'm thinking I can go to 0.4 or so with closed loop NEMA 23s but does this seem like the optimal cutting parameters for this end mill? Do y'all use 1, 2, or 3 flute end mills for roughing on hobby machines.

Lots of post and profile views but no followers?

My videos seem to be doing well, much better than I ever had on Instagram reels. Multiple videos with 1k+ views, best video has 12k. I've made 5 posts and have about 3k likes so far, every time I come to check my account over got like 40-99 notifications, and I always have like 10+ profile views, but no follows. I only have 1 follower, in fact I used to have 2 but someone unfollowed me.

I want to just start following a bunch of people to get follow backs but I know that will get flagged for spam. What can I do to increase following?

For people with Trupanion, do you believe that the lower non age based increases are worth it even with per issue deductibles?

Right now I'm almost set on Trupanion. We have an almost 2 year old miniature schnauzer, and we are mainly wanting to make sure he's covered for er visits or emergency surgeries in case of an accident or something, so mainly looking at unlimited or 20k+ plans.

Me and my fiance are both early career, I've got 1 semester left on my AAS and then I'll be making a good bit more than I am right now, my fiance just got her paralegal certification and will also be getting her first career job so will also be making more in the next year.

In order to get trupanion to be more affordable premium wise, we went with the 1750 deductible and it is $50 a month. It's 73 for a $1000 deductible. My fiance said she would much rather pay lower monthly and a slightly higher amount in an accident, as she does have money left in her college fund that could be used for a deductible in case of an emergency, and we will both be making more long term. However I know you can raise but never lower the deductible.

I've also looked at prudent pet, and it's about $40 a month, and also a yearly deductible so theres more of an upper limit on what we could spend in a year before insurance starts 90% help. However this would also start lower but raise much faster than trupanion from what I understand.

I also like trupanion for the direct payments that our main vet accepts, however I could get carecredit with a 6k limit pre-approved as well as about 7k in other credit limits if I needed to do something other than trupanion.

In general it seems that lifetime per issue deds are great if our pup got a chronic condition but bad If he has multiple incidents, altho I suppose multiple incidents in quick succession is not likely.

For people with genmitsu 3030 prover max, how do y'all have enough z clearance?

I have the machine and I've done some milling and been happy with it but as I'm moving the bigger operations and using a probe I realize I have not enough z clearance for my probe or even to surface the top with a short end mill.

I've seen videos of people probing or using super tall looking codes and I just don't understand. First picture is a 3d printed SMW mod vise so I could see how much room I would have and even with that I can barely probe with my z height max and with the stock sitting at the bottom and not in the parallels. Visible in the last picture is my drill press vise I'm trying to move away from that has even less clearance.

What vise do y'all use? Does anyone have designs for a better spindle mount to extend z clearance?

Insurance Recommendations?

I'm on to get my little miniature Schnauzer insured in case of an emergency. I know that I won't actually benefit financially in the long run in terms of how much I'm paying, and it's true that if I just saved that money up it would cost less, however I don't have access to 5,000+ dollars right now so if he has an accident or needs emergency surgery or anything before I can save that much money up I wouldn't be able to afford it.

I don't necessarily care so much about reimbursement for normal stuff, mainly emergencies, I don't want to have to try and come up with the capital to afford a 10,000 solar surgery in an emergency, or have to get approved for one of those vet cards, I just want to tell them to do whatever they can to save my baby and not worry about the money.

With that being said I've looked into a few insurers, mainly Trupanion, Paw Protect, and Pumpkin. I've mainly looked at these specifically as they seem to offer systems that give you the funds in the most direct or quickest way in an emergency. For example Trupanion seems to have a network of approved vets where they can just direct pay in an emergency. I think pumpkin has something similar but instead of direct pay they transfer to your bank account with like a quick turnaround or something. Can't remember for paw Protect. I specifically want these options, as I know other insurance options only reimburse you afterwards, so I would still have to come up with that liquidity in the moment.

I have seen some people either say Trupanion is the best or to avoid Trupanion for their rate increases. From what I understand most insurers increase rates with age while Trupanion does it based on local healthcare costs, not sure which ends up costing more over the lifetime of a dog. I also know that Trupanion has lifetime deductibles so if it's mainly 1 or a few issues that plague them throughout their life once u hit that they are covered for the rest of their life on that issue.

What are y'all's experiences with these insurers? Or any more you recommend?

Also, my guy went to the vet a few months ago sick and needed to be out on prescription food. They suspected either a stomach bug or some sort of infection or possibly pancreatitis issues but never were sure, and we got him a lower fat food to transfer to and he is better now. From my understanding the insured might look back at this if he develops true pancreatitis in the future and say it was already existing and not cover this, is that true? Even if he never got that diagnosis? And even if he recovered fine?

2nd TikTok gets exactly 0 views after my first one got 1000

Made a new account a few days ago. Been interacting and viewing my niche, decided to post my first video yesterday. It got 1000 views within a day and about 900 in the first few hours.

Then today I post my 2nd one, and after 3 hours it has gotten exactly 0 views. Not 1 or 3 or anything, exactly 0. So it's not like the video isn't doing good, TikTok just isn't showing it to anyone.

Why? haven't been doing any of the obvious spam behavior like mass following people for follow backs

For those who take xanax for flying, what dose works for you?

Got a flight in 4 hours

I've had panic disorder for probably 4 years now, been on Zoloft most of the time, was on 75mg at one point, went down to 25 mg and was fine 99% of the time but started atomoxetine for ADHD at 80mg and made my lcd worse so psychiatrist raised Zoloft to 50mg I'm at right now.

I've taken Xanax a good amount of times just as needed for panic attacks, but I used to really be scared to take it. Growing up and even now I've always been scared about what I put in my body like medications, my mom said I was like that growing up. Always scared to change/raise doses, etc. For the first year or two I used to split my 0.5mg Xanax pills into like quarters because I was so scared to take it. I've gotten to the point now where I can just split it in half and take it and be fine.

However, I haven't flown in a year or two and I'm extra nervous right now to fly, more scared than I remember being for precious flights. I have taken Xanax in the past, I think I did the whole thing of splitting pills into quarters and whatnot. Sometimes it helped, others I would get into the flight and turbulence would cause me to freak out and then I would panic to take another quarter, so I just feel like it would be better to just take enough beforehand.

My main question is I've never taken a full .5mg, but since my fear of flying causes panic reactions that are stronger than my normal rare panic attacks at home, I am interested in doing it for that. I'm not really scared of crashing, I just get overwhelmed. At home I can take a walk or feel unrestrained, but I'm a plane I have nowhere to go and feel trapped. However, I'm also scared of taking too much and feeling like it's knocking me out, cus that is a fear of mine that has kept me from taking sleep meds, although I suppose because it is Xanax it wouldn't feel scary anymore cus it's anti anxiety, but idk.

So I'm wondering what dose y'all take for flying, and if 0.5mg is overwhelmingly sedating or just makes you more relaxed than 0.25mg. I could also take each half like 1 hour before the flight and the 2nd half right before takeoff, etc.

To be clear I'm not asking for medical advice, just wondering peoples personal experience or success with different doses. I'm 23 male 190 lbs of that helps.

Is the warm up period for TikTok necessary?

Wanting to start a TikTok account. I've heard a bunch about not posting anything and weirdly not changing bio or whatever. I've just been trying to like and comment and interact with the type of content I'm wanting to post and in the niche.

If I started posting would it actually hurt me if I made the account like 4 hours ago?

Account permanently banned by AI for no reason?

I made an alternate account from my personal as a meme account. Only had it for probably 8 days.

Never posted anything explicit, most memes were pop culture or somewhat political related, but nothing purely offensive or or anything. Only got to make about 7 posts.

Insta randomly tells me I have to verify myself today. Makes me add a phone number even though I already had one. So I readd my phone number, verify with 2fa, then it wants my selfie, I send it, then 2 hours later they banned me.

It says that the decision was made by AI, and that there is no appeal option. Seriously? No appeal option for a ban that was made entirely by AI with 0 human oversight? Wtf??

I've seen actual full on nudity and porn on this app all the time, plenty of only fans spam and ads, and my slightly political memes are unacceptable I guess.

Banana pepper ready to harvest?

Idk how big they should be or what color. My assumption is that they're similar to sishitos where you harvest them before they actually hit the ripe color but I don't know.

This is a sweet banana pepper, not the Hungarian wax
