[ENG] [Weeknights EDT/UTC-4] [LGBT+ Friendly] [18+] Looking to Organize a Natural Fantasy or High Fantasy Group!

When: Weekday Evenings, EDT (New York City Timezone), exact day/time negotiable. Open to weekly or bi-weekly, but not interested in "Flexible" scheduling or monthly.

Length: 2-4 hour sessions work for me. Anything less & I feel rushed to get things done. Anything more & I start feeling fatigued! Would be happy with any campaign length the group ends up being on board with.

Where: Discord for voice chat is a must. Would prefer a minimalist VTT or no VTT, but open to using one if it isn't a resource intensive one. Happy to just use Fultimator & physical dice!

Players: 2/5? Actual player minimum/maximum can be determined by the group.

Game Master: 0/1

Content: Official content is fine, but I'd like to avoid Techno Fantasy if possible since it tends to be on the darker side. Everything's negotiable, though.

Themes: Community, friendship, PCs are true heroes/PCs aren't morally grey anti-heroes

Miscellaneous Requirements: 18+ years old (not interested in a NSFW game, I just don't want to be responsible for complicated themes minors might be exposed to, like death/violence), LGBT+ friendly, anti-AI, English speaking, willing to use safety tools

Cost: Free/unpaid.

At this time, I'm still not confident in my abilities to run Fabula Ultima again. I've ran it several times, including the Press Start, but it never really clicked for me as a GM. I much prefer being a Player! If, as a group, we're unable to find a GM, I would be willing to step up to run something very very very small/short-term just to test the waters again*.*

Cat vomited behind couch at some point, & it got moldy. How to clean?

I have already tried searching online for an answer, & unfortunately my vocabulary just isn't good enough to get the search engines to give an answer about this specific issue. I either get solutions to cleaning regular cat vomit, or solutions to cleaning mold in carpet that's caused from major structural issues/house leaks.

This isn't either of those; It's specifically a section of cat vomit that's gone the classic green fuzz-moldy, like a sad, forgotten block of cheddar in the back of the fridge. I cleaned up the solids, but there's still all this fuzz left behind.

If cleaning it is no different than regular vomit, or mold from water damage, then, well, great! But the former seemed too gentle, & the latter seemed quite extreme.

Assistance with 3rd Party Content

EDIT: For clarification, I am NOT asking about homebrewing a custom class; I'm well aware that this is not possible on DDB at this time. (:

Some of my tables have just started using "The Islands of Sina Una" content, from HitPointPress. I'm pretty familiar with homebrewing in subclasses, magic items, feats, etc. from 3rd party content, but we've run into an issue with the classes.

For reference, the two classes in the book are Babaylan & Headhunter. The former is sort of like an Intelligence Cleric with a free summon (that's an oversimplification of the class, but the closest analog I can think of in terms of homebrewing on DDB), & the Headhunter is a very beefy fighter.

Has anyone had experience porting these classes to DDB? I've considered just making homebrew "subclasses" of Cleric & Fighter to accommodate for these types of mechanics, but I didn't want to wade into uncertain waters if someone else already had experience getting this done.

For further clarification; We use PlayRole VTT, which does allow for fully customized character sheets, but the table is level 9, so it would take a very long time to properly fill those character sheets out.

I'm hesitantly open to trying a different VTT/character sheet app, but I went on a VTT hunt about a year and a half ago & the only one that truly fit our requirements at the time was PlayRole. The closest we can think of that could bridge the gap is Roll20, but that VTT has given nearly every table I've played at such a hard time. I do understand that the Beyond20 extension makes it a very attractive option, though.

[ENG] [Online] [Other] Let's Play "Blue Rose 1e" for Pride Month! [UTC-4] [18+] [LGBT+ Friendly] [Mic Required]

🌹 Let's Play "Blue Rose 1e" for Pride Month! 💙

Blue Rose 1e (True20) is the first edition of the natural fantasy TTRPG that focuses on community, environmentalism, egalitarian values, & being truly heroic characters that fight for the light against tangible evils. Violence isn't always the answer, though, & the heroes in the game are encouraged to choose peace rather than greed, vengeance, or their own pride.

Psionic powers are common, & interpersonal conflicts are meant to be handled through compassion rather than force. LGBT+ characters are celebrated, with unique societal & spiritual significance given to them in the intended setting.

Awakened animals called Rhydan are the spiritual embodiment of a past era of the world known as The Eternal Dance, where all creatures were once able to shapeshift at will into any form they could imagine. And *you* can even play as one!

The free quickstart/fastplay adventure has ready-to-go characters, all with their own special strengths & weaknesses for overcoming the challenges during the adventure.

When: Tuesday, June 2nd, from 7pm-10pm EDT/UTC-4 (New York City timezone) I will be running this one-shot EVERY Tuesday during Pride Month!

Where: Online through discord, mic required (English speaking required, though you do not have to be a native speaker)

Players: 0/4 | Must be kind, 18+, LGBT+ friendly, & must not use generative AI in any way

Content Warnings: Child endangerment, undead (skeletons)

Safety Tools: Lines & Veils, Open Door, Breaks, X/N/O card, Stars & Wishes

Story:

>The heroes are called to investigate the disappearance of some children from a village not far from the border closest to the Kingdom of Kern, which is ruled by the dark & evil Lich King.

If you're interested, send me a private message!

Language: English

Where: Online through Discord. Optionally, we may use Playrole as a VTT.

Experience: All experience levels welcome, newbies & veterans alike!

Game: Household (System), Humblewood Tales: "The Seahawk" & "The Wakewyrm's Wrath" (Setting & Adventures)

When: Weekly, day & time determined by group (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays). Earliest potential start time is 10am EDT (UTC-4)/New York City timezone. The latest potential start time is 10pm EDT.

Players: 1/5

Miscellaneous Details: This table does not use or support the use of generative AI. Players must be 18+, LGBT+ friendly, have a functioning microphone, willing to communicate & collaborate with other players, & be enthusiastic about playing anthropomorphic animal characters. We use some (though not all) of the safety tools included in the TTRPG Safety Toolkit.

"Strangers and shadows in Saltar's Port—we're all in danger! The guards won't listen. Send warriors! Come to the Rose Hip Tea House, and ask the tea master for Arlowene."

This is the letter the party receives from an old friend, a humble Hedge innkeeper, from the distant sea harbor of Saltar's Port. It's just vague enough that any more experienced warriors would turn down a job that far away from the forests surrounding the Great Tree City of Alderheart. So, it's up to you, a group of 5 furred (or feathered!) friends with a love for adventure, to travel to Saltar's Port & put an end to the danger & mystery brewing in the Songsea.

Hello & thank you for checking this out! I'm looking for 4 more players to play in a 6 session (2 hours minimum, full length determined by the group) mini-campaign in the Humblewood setting using the Household ttrpg system. The campaign will start in late May/early June, depending on how long it takes to gather enough players.
This campaign uses the "Humblewood Tales" pre-written adventures of "The Seahawk" & "The Wakewyrms Fury", & is intended for low-mid fantasy play in a campaign exploring themes of friendship, found family, nature conservation, hope, fierce rivalries, & swashbuckling antics. It is intended for adult (18+) players, although there will be no ERP. It will also celebrate LGBT+ characters & themes, as the campaign will be hosted during Pride Month!

  • "What is Humblewood?" Humblewood is a low-mid fantasy setting inhabited by anthropomorphic animal people, called Birdfolk (everything from owls, to crows, to eagles, & songbirds) & Humblefolk (all the other animals you're thinking of; deer, raccoons, mice, foxes, cats, etc.!) that co-exist under an animist pantheon of deities with a spiritual belief called The Great Rhythm. Elemental forces are the greatest threat to the world, & interpersonal conflicts don't always need to be handled with death. This is not a pacifist setting, though, & great warriors exist across all the lands!

  • "Why not use D&D5e?" While Humblewood was originally written for the D&D5e system, I believe many of its themes & stories would work better in a system with less crunchy combat, & a focus on characterization with more narrative control from Players. Humblewood has a large focus on animism, balance, community, & interpersonal relationships. D&D5e allows for this, but does not have mechanics that support this style of play.

  • "Why is Household good for Humblewood?" Household is a ttrpg about small fairy-sized people living in... a household! Its intended setting focuses on emotional drama, swashbuckling action, nuanced moral dilemmas, & the classic conflict of Nature vs. Civilization.

    • Its mechanics go well with this; Characters have stats detailing pillars of civilization like "War", "Street", & "Academia", they also have a scale of "Decorum" to determine how NPCs from different levels of society might view their appearance, & they also have social "contracts" which give them a unique boon at the cost of a personal obligation they must maintain to avoid terrible consequences. These mechanics (along with a few others) mesh well with the stories we'll be telling with Humblewood.
  • "How does Household play?" Household is a d6 dice pool system, where successes are measured by how many matching faces you get. Getting a pair of 1s is just as good as getting a pair of 6s!

    • This means less math than D&D, but some challenges require more than just one pair of matching dice, requiring 3 matching dice, or even 5 for truly impossible tasks!
    • Household foregoes typical "hit point" damage, by using Stress & Conditions. Your Character never dies unless you personally allow it!
    • Characters gain unique abilities through their Memories or life experiences, with additional traits gained from their chosen Profession.
    • My favorite part of Household, is that whenever you fail, you get to do so on your terms, or twist the story to your benefit if you're willing to take on a later consequence.
  • "Why not just play Household's intended setting?" After running the quickstart a couple of times, & reading through much of the book, I determined that the intended setting had two major hurdles for me personally as a GM.

    • Lots & lots of bugs! The main "monster" threat of the Household setting are bugs, which are huge & very very realistic looking. Primarily spiders & centipedes, two types of critter I really don't like looking at.
    • Deeply ingrained themes of racial discrimination across the races of the house. I don't personally enjoy stories that are about fighting or fixing racism; I much prefer when social conflicts are less about dehumanization & more about emotional stakes.
    • For these reasons, I decided to go with Humblewood instead. A setting which has similar themes (bugs as enemies, conflicts between the Birdfolk & Humblefolk), but are far less intense in how they're presented.

What I'm looking for in Players:

  • Kind, respectful, open-minded, patient, mature people who want to have fun rather than "win the game".
  • RP enjoyers. I'm looking to run a hopeful adventure, that can still take a moment to focus on passionate character emotions. Voice acting isn't necessary, but making an enthusiastic effort to socialize with your PC is a must!
  • Familiarity with Discord & using mics for playing TTRPGs. English doesn't have to be your first language, though you must speak it.
  • Comfort & enthusiasm with playing as anthropomorphic animal characters. Furries are welcome, but you don't need to be one to enjoy the campaign. If you'd rather play an Elf, Fairy, Human, or something of the sort, this adventure likely isn't for you.
  • Confidence in being able to attend at least 2 sessions a month, & doing so on time. I never expect perfect attendance, but do ask that everyone respect the time the group sets aside for the game each week.
  • Enthusiasm to use the safety tools found in the TTRPG Safety Toolkit, including but not limited to; Lines & Veils, Stars & Wishes, Breaks, & the X/N/O Cards.
  • Communication, communication, communication! Whether it's asking questions about mechanics, voicing concerns with the game, or just uplifting your fellow players, being a communicative player is necessary to keep the game fun, safe, & running smoothly. Expecting players to "sense when energy is off", especially when those players don't already know each other, is not an example of open & honest communication.
  • 18+ years of age or older. While there will be absolutely no ERP in this game, the threat of death & elements of grief with certain characters is unsuitable for some minors.
  • No experience is required with TTRPGs, the Humblewood setting, or the Household ttrpg system! This is a welcoming, patient table, with the goal being to have fun. Learning a new system/setting together is not about mastering the lore or mechanics.
  • LGBT+ friendly!

What kind of GM you'll be getting:

  • Someone who meets the requirements listed above!
  • Gming since January 2022, with this being the 5th mini-campaign I'll have ran in a system other than D&D. I've also ran one-shots in various others!
  • I have a preference for theater of the mind & narratively driven actions over gridded maps, & Household is the perfect system for this style of play. Images fitting unique locations will be provided to help set the scene, but granular movement distance won't come into play like it might in a system like D&D.
  • 0 genAI tolerance. I do not use/condone the use of any form of genAI, be that for text, imagery, video, or audio of any kind. Rest assured that absolutely 0 genAI will be present at the table or used by any players!
  • Keeping things casual; I don't mind what you do during game time, so long as it doesn't impede anyone's fun. Eating, using your phone, listening to music other than the ambient music bot, making out-of-character jokes, etc. is all perfectly fine by me. So long as you're able to play the game in a way that keeps things fun for everyone, you do you! If any special accommodations need to be made by myself or the rest of the table, I encourage you to let us know. Squeaky wheel gets the oil, not the kick.

If you've made it this far, thank you so much for reading! For those of you interested in playing, you can either private message me, or fill out this google form.
