Also, credit to @marynavoroshylo for the original piece which I used as a reference. I'm not very experienced yet, so I thought of trying to use a painting reference first instead of my own composition or a photo.

Punjab region, Pakistan. It's also the monsoon season, so It's raining quite a but here. Any idea what this mushroom is? No stalk, smells earthy, the black part left a stain.

For context, my mom told me to make a painting (she showed me a reference photo) as I make paintings as a hobby. She said that this looked awful (the diagonal lines on the top right are her intervention in order to make this "better"). Note that I'm not a professional, but still, be honest, how does this look? The medium is acrylic, I wanted to do oil but that's kind of expensive and hard.

The second photo is basically what it was ge day before and it was really dull. After spending more time on it, and using blue and green undertones instead of just black and white, I think it looks much better. I'm open to all opinions.
