So about 10 years ago I started a record collection and I basically started through a vinyl subscription service, vinyl me please if anyone remembers it - it’s still going on a fashion but lot of controversy around it which I would get into - but it was interesting to start of with these records a lot of which I wasn’t familiar with

I eventually got a lot of new (at that time) releases on vinyl and a lot of classics and at the peak I had about 50 records of a good variety

Unfortunately due to space and financial issues had to sell my player and records

About a month ago I picked up an audio technica LP70 and so far are really happy with it, but this time around I’m picking up records which 1) I only owned on CD originally and have finally got reissued ie a lot of nu-metal albums from early 2000s and also 2) absolute staples which should be in my collection based on tastes and variety

Not one record I have picked up so far are albums which are “recommended or from a vinyl club which have been curated” if that makes sense

So I was thinking for people who are starting a brand new collection up - what would be the best way to start - one where you see these videos on YouTube on essential albums to own wether the listener have heard it or not - or records that the listener have listened to in the past on streaming or cd or both

I think there is a middle ground - below are the records I have so far - a nice mix of metal, rock, county, movie soundtracks and games soundtracks - I haven’t got any albums yet which are like - “oh I’ll pick that up because someone told me to etc”

Anyways looking forward to seeing what people’s views are

I posted on here a few weeks ago about son of dad needing a repress because of the ridiculous prices people are charging on eBay

Low and behold on eBay a few weeks I saw a retailer selling them for around £40 so I literally jumped and thought it was too good to be true
It’s arrived today!
It’s not the deluxe version but it’s a 3LP trifold maroon

It was available a couple of weeks ago on his official site but now it says out of stock - so I’m hoping it’s in and out of stock and not just completely gone like son of dad is

I posted the other day about the son of dad vinyl being waaaay over the top pricing on ebay and out of stock everywhere

I went on this morning and saw the blanket vinyl in stock?

Has this always been the case or has it come back in?

Glad I’ve got some Stephen on vinyl anyways

My hunt for the son of dad LP goes on and I hope he has some available when he comes to the UK for the tour in october

I don’t know the logistics and time and money around repressing vinyl these days but I cannot believe son of dad hasn’t been repressed yet

One look on eBay and it’s ridiculous how much people are charging for it - even the non deluxe versions

I appreciate it’s a sought after thing but it’s a “new” release and I’m sure they know once they do repress it it would sell it straight away or fast

Like I said I would be happy with the coloured non deluxe version below

So I’m tied between these two turntables as beginner turntables

I had an audio technica 60 years ago and I remember it being a really good reliable player - but a couple of years ago I went to a hotel and they had this angels horn which I remember it being really good as well

What would sound better - the audio technica with the
Marshall’s speaker or the angels horn with the wired speakers that are included?

I do listen to a lot of podcasts but yes there maybe some which I occasionally don’t listen to after a week and then they pause automatic downloads so I can’t see what’s new and what’s not

Is there an actual way of unpausing it? It seems very un-Apple to force this feature to us and no actual setting to turn it off

I don’t know why but when I first boot up the console the 3 buttons under the games initially slow as the above - see what your friends are up too, some games are free and share capture - rather than what’s usually displayed there
And I cant access the store either - it just says there’s an error?
It feels like it initially has a tough time establishing on the boot up
I’ve restarted the console a couple of times but the same result
It feels like the initial handshake - even though it’s actually connecting fine - is causing the problem

Anyone got any ideas?

So I’m sure I played Reach on MCC on series X years ago and it looked absolutely fantastic for a game as old as it is

I thought I would give it a quick run through before I jump into Campaign Evolved and I just can’t believe how bad it looks
The first level was almost unplayable I couldn’t hardly see any covenant at all through the grass and this filter they have on it

Not sure I actually want to play through it now tbh!

I got this Hisense e7kpro last year and have been really happy with it but when I purchased it - whenever I pressed the source button on the remote - a pop up came up on the side of the screen and I was able to change it without going back to the Home Screen

After a software update, when I press the button it always just goes back to the Home Screen - every single time

Is there a way of getting back the old way?
