In review since 21 Sept

Hey there,

My first ever app has been in review since 21 September and I'm unsure if I should resubmit? Has been at least 10 days since it changed from 'Waiting for review' to 'In review'.

What has been your experience with this topic?

Thank you!

[Beta] Dawnling: a cozy pixel-art alarm clock where a little candle wakes up when you do

Hi there!

I'm a solo dev who wanted to create something to help my loved ones and it's getting a bit bigger than intended, that's why I want to publicly launch it, but therefore I want to be able to launch a product that actually works on different devices!

A. Answer

Dawnling is an alarm clock with a companion. Wick, a small pixel-art candle, sleeps when you sleep and wakes when your alarm rings. You wake him up, he walks you through a short morning routine, and waking up earns dewdrops that furnish his little room. The room's light follows the real sky: sunrise, midday, dusk, and when your bedtime comes he tucks himself in.

B. Better

  • It's a real alarm. On iOS 26 it uses AlarmKit, so it rings at full volume through Silent mode and Focus, same as Apple's Clock. On iOS 17 and 18 it uses a notification path with a health check that flags anything (permissions, Focus) that could block it.
  • Zero data collection, literally. No analytics SDK, no accounts, and the app makes zero network requests. You can verify that with a proxy.
  • No loss-aversion mechanics. There are no streaks to break and no guilt copy; missing a morning costs nothing. The bet is that a companion who is happy to see you beats a counter you're afraid to lose.
  • Optional wake missions (typing, math, tap sequence) for heavy sleepers, per alarm, so a weekday alarm can be strict and a weekend one gentle.
  • Full accessibility pass: VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion.

C. Cost

Free, and the core app stays free forever: alarms, Wick, routines, the room. No ads, no subscription, no way to buy the earned currency with money. Down the road I plan to sell optional decorative collections as one-time purchases, and that's the whole business model.

TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/FwPSpwnQ

What I most need tested:
- does the alarm reliably ring on your device? iOS 26 testers are extra valuable (the AlarmKit path is new for everyone). Set a real alarm for tomorrow and tell me what broke or felt off.
- I use free music from Pixabay, what's missing for you? (I credit the artists)
- Does the UI feel buggy for you?
- How's the UX? Is it clear what you're able to do in the app?

Brutal honesty welcome; I'd rather hear it now than in reviews

I'm making an alarm clock that plays like a tiny cozy game for IOS: a candle named Wick sleeps when you sleep and wakes when your alarm rings

Hi!
Dawnling is my solo project: an alarm clock where you wake up together with Wick, a little pixel candle. Waking up earns dewdrops, dewdrops become furniture for his room, and the room's light follows the real time of day. There are no streaks and no guilt mechanics; missing a morning costs nothing.

It's in iOS beta now and I'd love a few cozy-game people to try it: https://testflight.apple.com/join/FwPSpwnQ

Best, Mitch

Dawnling: cozy pixel-art alarm clock.

Hi!

Solo dev here. Dawnling is an alarm clock where a pixel-art candle called Wick sleeps when you sleep and wakes when your alarm rings, then walks you into your morning routine.

What I most need tested: does the alarm reliably ring on your device? Especially interesting if you're on iOS 26 (it uses the new AlarmKit framework there: full volume through Silent mode) or on an older iPhone on iOS 17/18.

What it is: real alarms, a tiny room you decorate, a gentle morning routine. What it isn't: no ads, no account, no streaks, no data collection (the app makes zero network requests).

If you join: set a real alarm for tomorrow morning and tell me anything that broke, confused you, or felt off. Brutal honesty welcome, I'd rather hear it now than in App Store reviews.

I don't have a budget for testers but in return I can test your app!

Building a free Swipe-to-Delete Photo Cleaner for IOS/Android; Looking for feedback

Hi,

I’m making a mobile app to clean up your pictures and videos on your phone, by swiping through them.

It’ll be part of a series of free applications that’ll help you cut through tasks that are usually postponed, never done and generally just not fun.

This one specifically helps you free up phone storage or drop to a cheaper iCloud tier.I’m adding optional gamification to make these processes actually fun.

I'm in the build phase and want to make sure I'm not building the wrong thing. So, a few questions:

- Which photo cleaner have you tried; what made you keep or delete it?

- Which features did you feel were missing?

- What bothered you and would throw you off immediately?

- Have you ever started cleaning and quit? - What made you quit?

- What size is your photo library roughly?

What I’ve added so far:

* Swipe photo-by-photo: left to delete, right to keep, up to favorite, tap to zoom, long-press for date and info

* Queued deletions (auto-commits at session end, or release manually)

* Filter by screenshots, year/month, large videos, Live Photos, social-app albums (WhatsApp / Instagram / Snapchat), "On This Day"

* Duplicate detection (on-device)

* Similar-photo grouping

* Blurry-photo detection with sensitivity settings

* Works in All Photos or Selected Photos mode

* One-tap link to iOS Photos > Recently Deleted to confirm

* Bookmarking/marking a picture to swipe later

* Statistics

* 100% on device / Apple vision framework only for IOS. No third party AI

Have a lovely day,

Mitch
