Another hidden side effect people just aren't talking about. Recent studies show an increase of "NAION" (eye strokes) in patients taking GLP-1s, a drug that is being presented as a miracle drug for weight loss and marketed everywhere. It's not well known. Obviously companies don't want to talk about it.
Just as with PSSD, most people have no idea and deserve to know about this. How many people must go blind for greed?
Riverside Recovery of Tampa, a private addiction-treatment/rehab provider in Florida, has a page that acknowledges PSSD.

Pretty cool beetle, i've always loved these. Buddy of mine wants to sell it, not sure what it's worth due to it's condition though I know it's a rarer model. Unfortunately he just let it sit here for a few years.
Has title in hand, last ran like 5 years ago, dead rotting animal on the front drivers side floor. Little bit of rot in the body, likely water damage/mold in the cabin. Lots of unknowns atm. Can't take too much of a look since there may be a bees nest in the trunk, but the trunk don't open. Which i'm glad because I tried opening it before realizing there was a nest lol.
Check out the main patient organizations trying to find the root cause behind our condition: The PSSD Network & SideFXHub
PSSD Network | Their Research: 1. PSSD Reseach Project 2025 2. The Dawn Study

Please report your PSSD symptoms to your national regulator! This is extremely important for recognition for our condition.

21,000 members is not a milestone we ever wanted to have a reason to reach. But it does represent an increasingly large community of people who can support one another, document what is happening, fund research, spread awareness, and push for answers.
If you're new, take some time to look through the resources above. You don't need to understand everything immediately, but the more of us who contribute where we can, the stronger our collective ability to move PSSD research and recognition forward becomes.
With you, we are all stronger.
You can now request a user flair which displays the years you've had PSSD next to your username when participating on this subreddit.
For now, this will go in increments of 5 years; starting at 5 years +, 10 years +, 15, 20, (Does anyone even know anyone with 25?) etc etc. For example, I've got 6 years having PSSD, but my flair says 5 years +, which you should be able to see next to my name.
We've decided to start with those few, large increments of 5 years so as not to overwhelm for now. Especially as time goes on and people would want to update their flairs year after year (it may be a lot to update everyone's all the time).
If you want to request a flair: feel free to leave a message here, DM me, or leave a modmail message
Feedback welcome - let me know in the comments whether you love it, hate it, please be constructive.

Yet another point in favor of awareness & growing medical acceptance for PSSD, A Florida based Teletherapy/online behavioral platform writes about PSSD in great detail. This amongst numerous other individual medical companies/offices acknowledging PSSD over the past several months.
I asked Chat gippity to take a picture I had of the Infernus from Vice City and specifically reduce it down to it's bare outlines so that it could be properly etched into my bottle. Picture #2 is the source material if you want to do it yourself.

BlewChew, the aggressively marketed and overpriced Viagra company, makes an article on PSSD and doesn't hesitate to both use the condition to hawk their chewable pills and have a picture of a girl with tig ol biddies per usual. Good news for awareness either way, more evidence of PSSD becoming more mainstream. It honestly isn't that bad of an article either for what it's worth.
It's true though I really hope it has driving more on the realistic side.
The DAWN Study is soon to commence in Australia in collaboration with The PSSD Network and the largest brain research center on the Earth's Southern Hemisphere, The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. (Read more about it in the Mid-Year Update)
At the phase 1 stage, recruitment is limited to Australian participants only, but could expand to other nationalities in the future.
If you're from Australia, Please DM me or click here to take part.
If you know any Australian PSSD patients, please share this historic milestone with them.

This is another chance for we the patients to directly influence PSSD becoming more mainstream & accepted in the academic field.

A Brazilian academic team has independently published a new review dedicated to PSSD, examining the existing evidence on symptoms, possible mechanisms, diagnosis, and impacts on patients. While it does not present new experimental data, it marks further academic recognition of PSSD and calls for more research into the condition.
Missed $8 on the 8th, so here's $10 on the 10th for research!!

Now this just blew my mind- this is the first time PSSD has ever been talked about on the JRE, the most popular podcast in the world, which is something many here have been talking about wanting to see for a long time. I wonder what the odds are of there being a real PSSD interview on his show before long at this point.
Shoutout to Lauren once more for being brave enough to speak about your story. I know the last thing you probably ever wanted to do was show your face to the world about this, but it did wonders for our collective mission.
The PSSD Network's roundup of all the important news & happenings for the month of May is worth a read!
Big things are continuing to happen in the awareness and scientific world of PSSD, and there's a lot of proof that this community's movement is continuing to snowball ever larger!
