Would you buy a OP15 today?

The most important things to me are battery and camera.

To be clear, im not expecting a perfect camera. I have a Pixel 10A so something with a decent zoom that I can edit would be great.

Or do you all think you'd go a different direction? I am thinking of Pixel 11Pro but concerns about the battery.

Pyrocumulonimbus cloud from a fire in Utah

An unfortunate event, but has made for some great photo opportunities. Pixel 10A still a solid, versatile option for everyday photography even with the optical zoom. Edited with a vintage filter from Lightroom.

Is Asheville THAT bad? Looking at potential move

I mean I know reddit can be harsh to their own, but f***...

I have been looking at the appalachian region for a good place to relocate to, potentially. The west with all the constant fires is a no-go for my already compromised lungs. Also living closer to parents down south.

Quick TL;DR on my situation - spouse and I mid 30's, both have good paying remote jobs. We're more liberal socially. Love strenuous 'straight up' hiking as much as i can get it and scrambling rocks. Beer and festivals are cool too. I enjoy volunteering as well, don't need a massive city but enough to get by and hopefully some younger folks that keep things lively and a good social scene.

I guess I've just heard nothing but terrible things lately about Asheville. As someone potenially relocating from the west/rockies region, is it that terrible?

Opinions on switching to the Moto Signature (VZW)

I'm really liking what im seeing about the Signature. The price point is fantastic, seemingly, for the value.

What i care about most:
- Battery Life
- Camera
- Clean UI

I would be coming from a Pixel 10A - which is great other than camera (i want a good telephoto again). Battery is fine but would love one I didn't have to worry about at all during the day even with consistent use.

Concerns/Questions:
- Will it work reliably on VZW, Mint, etc? If so, I have E-Sim so not sure of the process other than calling VZW but concerned they would see it as a foreign device IMEI and deny it for some reason.
- Should i just buy the India version if it is supported, or another?
- Small thing, but how does the Recorder app compare to Google's if it's a separate one?

For those that love taking photos, how does it compare to other devices you have used and did you have issues activating in the US? I had the iPhone 16 pro for awhile and it had a good telephoto.

One upgrade I haven't seen mentioned re: Pixel 11 series..

I'm outdoors a lot and off grid hiking/camping, and take several trips where i'm off grid 3-4 times a year. While I can rely on my garmin (and no one should solely rely on a phone), I have heard that Google's move to the new Mediatek M90 modem would allow for non-SOS messaging, similar to what iPhone already has.

Now, it doesn't actually confirm that it will be coming with Pixel 11, to be clear. I've just researched and found that it allows for the technical foundation in the hardware. So, it may be a later thing.

I've used this on iOS and it works great and is super helpful. Thoughts?

Using Apple Watch Ultra as primary device

Hi all, I am looking to drastically increase decrease my phone use (if not altogether) and am interested in utilizing the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 4 to be my primary device. The idea would be id use my old iphone 16e as technically my primary so the number could be shared with the watch.

Does anyone have any experience using the Ultra as their main watch? I have a small point and shoot I carry around a lot, so the lack of camera wouldn't be a dealbreaker in everyday activities. Mainly I just want to know if the cell service is ok, if it can send SOS messages in the backcountry as I'm a hiker, and if it's doable overall. I like having Findmy for my family, pets, devices etc. along with imessage convenience and health tracking, etc. , but don't really want to be tied to a phone if i can help it.

Edited to add: I'm on Verizon in the US

Question(s) about bike locks for the Lectric XP

My wife and I just got the Lectric XP's, and we absolutely love them. I think I do at least 20-30 miles a day.

One thing I would really like to do is to take it to trailheads as my mode of transportation, since we have great trails within only 10 or so miles away. I would probably be hiking anywhere from an hour or two to several hours. Backpacking would be incredible too.

However, I'm very concerned about the security of leaving my bike at the trailhead with the lock that comes with it and someone simply using bolt cutters or some other method and snatching the bike. It doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to steal. I know they'd have to have the key to get the battery out, but I don't think that'd stop someone. Our trails aren't too bad, but we do have break-ins with cars like many places here and there.

Has anyone come across this issue and how have you remedied it, if so? Or is it just a better idea to not leave the bike at a trailhead at all?

Edited to add: I'm an e-bike newb, so go easy on me if this is an obvious answer 😄

[Question] iPhone 16 Pro - Broken back glass, water damage - phone turns on briefly

So a bit of a weird situation. I had my iphone 16 pro in a QuadLock case (yes, going to namedrop cause im pissed), the phone fell pretty hard and the back glass cracked. Then i had my phone in a backpack while hiking in the rain and somehow condensation got inside the back. Cameras fogged up but are clear now. For a while it turned on fine, but would shut off after a few minutes. Now it's the same thing.

Thoughts on my luck in bringing it to a repair shop? Seems it heats up and shuts off, but is still usable briefly. Seems to charge fine.
