I'm a transdimensional, omnipresent sentient being who has existed since the first atom of the first universe & will exist until the last atom of the last universe. It is weird for me to like My Little Pony?

Hello beings of Universe 4B28.1,

In the time it would take to pronounce one letter of my true name, a trillion cosmoes would flare into existence and sink into eternal night. I am known by many names in many timelines -- God, Zeus, Yahweh, Zorglorp, Jahova, The Sacred Masculine/The Divine Feminine, Jupiter, Allah, The force of Creation, The One, 1011011001 -- but you may call me Sam.

While your linear perception of time is but a mere illusion created by traveling across an infinite cosmos on a rock, I exist seeing all that has been or will ever be. Among my favorite of these things is My Little Pony (except the version in universe 58C31.6 where everypony is a metaphor for a different hotdog ingredient. It just doesn't make as much sense as being metaphors for a different ingredient in friendship & it really goes down hill after season 2).

But lately I've been wondering if it's weird for a philosophical concept personified into sentient existence to like something so childish, whimsical, & silly. None of the other personified conceptual beings underneath me in the hierarchy of universal Platonic Forms are into My Little Pony & I think some of them judge me for it (especially Chaos, who thinks their portrayal as Discord is 'borderline offensive').

Can anyone else out there relate or do you think there is something wrong with me?

Opinion: Replaying Star Fox 64 Convinced Me A Switch 2 Remake Is A Good Idea

From NintendoLife, slightly condensed, to save you a click:

"Last week's Star Fox announcement left me feeling a little mixed. On the one hand, yay, Star Fox again! On the other, oh, Star Fox 64 again.

...I'm a good bit removed from the reveal now, and I've got to say, I've changed my mind. I'm now completely on board with Star Fox on Switch 2, and will be there on day one to see what Nintendo has done with the '97 classic.

Why the sudden change of heart? Well, I replayed Star Fox 64.

I'm sure that many of were in the same boat this past weekend. Star Fox fever is in the air, and with the 64 original right there on NSO, it would have been rude not to. It had been a good few years since I last made the trek from Corneria to Venom, but it's got to be said, the game still rips. There's not an ounce of fat on it, the score is phenomenal, and Sector X made me just as scared as it did when I first played it back in the early 2000s.

But some cracks started to show. I've long been of the opinion that Star Fox 64 is a near-perfect game, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. Suddenly, the prospect of a modern remake started to make a lot of sense.

We'll start with the whistle-stop nature of it all. Star Fox 64 is an arcade game at heart, an on-rails space shooter that you can blast through in an hour or two, all about replays and getting top scores. It's one of the things that I love about the original, but in 2026, something tells me that such a loop won't slide with everyone...The price tag is a welcome surprise, of course, but it's still some pounds to pay for just a few mere hours of entertainment.

Based on that reveal trailer, it seems the Switch 2 remake has more meat on the bone. Those extra cutscenes are bound to beef up the runtime a little, but I'm more interested in that new 'Challenge Mode', and the level-specific replayability it'll no doubt bring. I'm absolutely the kind of player who will return to every single locale just to put a virtual tick in a virtual box, so that's another few hours right from the jump.

The Direct's focus on online multiplayer has me hopeful there will be a thriving scene to get involved with there, too — the three game modes look varied enough, and there's always room for Nintendo to add more down the line.

...Feel free to get your pitchforks and torches ready now, is that 19 years on, Star Fox 64's visuals ain't all that. [Hey now, watch it, Jim... Ed.] I remember the dogfights and planet traversal blowing my socks off back in the day, but times have changed, and no amount of nostalgia filtering can convince me that this still looks good in the way that Ocarina of Time, Pokémon Snap, or Banjo-Kazooie do...This isn't the kind of "visual upgrade" we saw on 3DS, but an entire from-the-ground-up reworking. It looks wonderful.

And yeah, now that your pitchforks are sharpened, I'll throw in a mention of the N64 control scheme, too. Try as you might, I'll never be convinced that the N64's multi-button somersaults and wonky aiming are part of its retro charm, but at least that option is still there for you '90s sickos. Mouse Mode and the potential for some gyro precision are something that I can get behind. Throw in some of that HD Rumble 2 magic, and we might be talking about one of the best-feeling games on the system.

Let me reaffirm that none of this is to the detriment of Star Fox 64 in its original state — I still had a blast with it, and will likely return to it again in the future for a swift nostalgia kick. But I left feeling pleasantly optimistic that Star Fox on Switch 2 could make the great even greater.

Only time will tell whether it actually can do that, of course, but at least I'm excited to dive back in now. If all else fails, 42 quid for a bundle of GameChat AR filters and James McCloud's new sunglasses sounds like a pretty good deal."

NintendoLife Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle - An Authentic Indy Adventure Arrives In Fine Form

"[The] Switch 2...handles this huge, stunning game with enthusiasm. Alongside the surprising presence of both gyro and mouse controls, the devs have taken great care in not compromising the spectacle of this adventure. An obvious performance caveat is the 30fps lock, with MachineGames choosing the lower frame tradeoff to preserve overall visual quality.

The devs state that resolution is 1080p docked and 720p handheld, with DLSS on hand as usual to pick up the slack. Despite the lower frame rate, this version stands up surprisingly well. Frames remained stable throughout my playthrough and the only visual hiccup was some occasional texture pop-in when running through open areas. It’s extremely impressive to play a game like this in handheld mode, and while the visuals are noticeably downgraded out of the dock, it still looks and sounds great.

Conclusion

A globe-trotting adventure with compelling exploration, crunchy melee, and tomb-raiding puzzles. With a great story and sky-high production value, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an authentic new franchise entry with a capable lead in Troy Baker. And despite taking the odd hit, the Switch 2 port holds its own admirably.

PSA: There are almost 70 security updates in Tahoe 26.5 & 50 security updates in iOS 26.5

New updates have dropped for all Apple devices with a slew of security fixes & I'd recommend everyone updating all devices as soon as possible:

"There are almost 70 security updates in Tahoe 26.5, so it's also a good idea to update your Mac software. Apple released macOS Sonoma 14.8.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.7 for those who are unable to run ‌macOS Tahoe‌.

Apple's security support document outlines all of the security updates included in the new software. There were no known actively exploited bugs, but Apple's documentation does potentially give malicious entities insight into bugs that can be exploited on devices that have not yet been updated."

Total flagrant speculation here, but this may be in response to the recent reports of the new Claude AI deemed too dangerous for public release that found previously unknown security flaws in all widely used OSes, browsers, etc.

Stop Stressing, Nintendo Says More Switch 2 Games Are Coming

"President Shuntaro Furukawa has stated that more Switch 2 titles are being planned for the second half of the fiscal year – they just haven't been announced yet. This comes in response to an investor who seemed concerned about the time it takes to develop games these days and whether Nintendo can maintain a steady cadence of releases.

"Ideally, we would like to deliver new titles more frequently and in a more timely manner, but as you pointed out, software development periods have become longer than before. Even so, we will continue to work on various initiatives to ensure that many titles can be played on Nintendo Switch 2, by devising improvements to our development system and development process.

Regarding the future, we are preparing a variety of new titles for Nintendo Switch 2, regardless of whether they are so-called major titles or not. In addition, we have new titles prepared for the second half of this fiscal year, in addition to those already announced, and we will provide details at the appropriate time."

Furukawa's statement about whether Nintendo's upcoming games can be considered "major" or not is interesting. It sounds like that company is serious about leveraging a more flexible pricing structure for its titles, as evidenced by both Splatoon Raiders and Star Fox. It's likely that the company is keen to maintain a cadence of one game per month, with a mix of both smaller and larger titles.

Regardless, if you're worried about Nintendo's current line-up, when we'd urge you to take a breath and be patient. More games are coming, and we're sure to find out more about them in the coming weeks and months.

Nintendo says Switch 2 price increase doesn’t cover all costs, hopes its upcoming games will help to ‘overcome this barrier’ | VGC

Looks like even with the price increase, Nintendo is taking a cut to profit (or maybe even a small loss?) on the switch 2, hoping software sales will help to off-set this:

"During the company’s latest financial results presentation, Furukawa reportedly stated (as translated by Nintendo Patents Watch) that the new pricing “does not fully account for all cost increases”, implying that the price increase could have been higher but Nintendo didn’t want to risk affecting the momentum of Switch 2 sales.

“We sincerely apologize to our customers for the considerable inconvenience and trouble this will cause,” Furukawa reportedly said of the price increase. “While we wanted to prioritize a wide adoption, it was challenging to bear the rising costs over a long period.”

As reported by Reuters, Furukawa explained that Nintendo had come to the conclusion that a number of changes in the market environment – including the rising cost of memory, the weak yen and rising crude oil prices – were going to remain for the medium to long term, and that the price increases were made with this in mind.

Furukawa also said that while the new console prices may increase the barrier to purchase, he’s hopeful that a solid and growing line-up of Switch 2 games will eventually encourage more players to buy a Switch 2.

“We will prepare a robust software line-up to enhance the Switch 2 ownership value,” he reportedly said. “We will work diligently to overcome this barrier.”

Apple May Drop Base $599 MacBook Neo as Chip, DRAM Costs Climb

"Culpan says the pricing strain around the Neo is tied to Apple's push to ramp up manufacturing. Shipping estimates on Apple's website currently sit at two to three weeks across the lineup following stronger-than-expected demand, and the company is said to have instructed suppliers to increase production capacity to 10 million units, roughly double the original forecast of 5 to 6 million.

To meet its revised production goal, Apple needs a new supply of A18 Pro chips from TSMC. The Neo uses the same chip as the iPhone 16 Pro, but existing inventory was reportedly depleted by the early demand. TSMC is also said to have limited spare 3nm capacity, with AI-related orders consuming much of its output.

Apple's costs are being further complicated by the fact that the initial Neo batch used lower-bin A18 Pro chips with one GPU core disabled. However, a fresh production run would produce more fully functional chips, increasing the per-unit cost even before any expedited manufacturing premiums are applied.

If Apple ultimately decides against dropping the $599 MacBook Neo configuration, Culpan says the company is alternatively considering introducing new color options for the current-generation Neo to cushion a potential price hike."

Looks like anyone interested in the Mac Studio or the higher end Mac minis may face a period of disappointment due to the memory shortage:

"Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said that the ‌Mac mini‌ and the ‌Mac Studio‌ are going to be hard to get for months to come. "We think, looking forward, that the ‌‌Mac mini‌‌ and ‌‌Mac Studio‌‌ may take several months to reach supply demand balance," Cook said.

According to Cook, Apple underestimated the demand for the ‌Mac mini‌ and the ‌Mac Studio‌ from customers looking for a machine to run AI and agentic tools locally. He said Apple also expects significantly higher memory costs in the months to come, so Apple is likely conserving supply by eliminating some configuration options. Global supply constraints caused by AI server demand have impacted the pricing of memory chips, leading to high prices and memory shortages."

We all knew the Neo has been a hit, but apperently demand for it has been beyond what even Apple had ever expected:

"Apple was very optimistic about the MacBook Neo before announcing it, but the company still "undercalled" the level of enthusiasm that the laptop would generate, according to Cook. He said that MacBook Neo demand has exceeded Apple's expectations and helped to drive a record number of first-time Mac buyers last quarter."
