What scenario has higher probability of a collision between 2 objects?

A: 2 objects moving about randomly? or B: one object stationary and the other moving randomly?

In a discussion about picking lottery numbers. One side says always use the same set of numbers (the stationary object). The other says go with the quick pick (the object moving randomly). Since the winning number set is always a randomly moving object, should the ticket buyer going with the quick pick? Or use the same set of numbers?

Is it worth it telling her why you're not interested anymore?

She owned up the fact that she never wanted a real relationship. She just missed sex and wanted it again regularly. Problem is that sex to her means only 1 way, one position. Missionary. That's it. Everything else, anything else is 'dirty' and she is a "good" girl. A 40 year old divorcee who's ex left her for a younger and more adventurous woman. Her perfect man was her father (who died when she was a teenager) and she thought because she was a cheerleader in high school that she is still very desirable (if she lost 50 lbs, maybe).

That gets old real quick. Do I tell her why I'm no longer interested? Or just leave quietly.

Spray booth venting

I built a rather large table top spray booth (3 cu. ft.). As I work primarily with 1/32 scale aircraft, 1/35 scale vehicles, & 1/350 ships, I need a lot more room in my booth than most off the shelf hobby booths offer. I originally had a 900 CFM tubeaxial fan (army surplus) but decided that was overkill. so I replaced it with an explosion proof 300 CFM tube fan. I work mostly with enamels & lacquers. My question: Do I want to cut a hole in the window screen for the vent tube and never mess with it again? Or remove the screen and board up the gap between the window and the sash with the exhaust vent sticking out. Option 2 would mean undoing all this at least twice a year. Probably more and looks like crap.

Photographers, what is this fascination with Dutch Roll?

Everybody seems to do it. Every 15 or 20 photos of a particular model I see, has at least one shot with Dutch Roll applied to it. Why?

I can see the value of using the Dutch Roll technique on objects or abstracts. But using it on standing models (living beings)? Why? In extremely rare cases I can see it working. Especially if the model is laying down or clowning. But sitting or standing it makes no sense what so ever. And please down't tell me the photographer is clowning. Models can clown. Good Photographers don't. Viewers can't relate to a human that is standing at a 45 degree angle. People stand, and sit vertically because of gravity. Would a field of sunflowers look correct if they were shown sidways? Or a wildlife shot of a rabbit upside down?

Or is this a case of "I'm not a photographer. I'm an artiste' "

Large conference hall streaming camera recommendatioons

I'm a member of a local veterans organization and we are wanting to stream our twice-a-month meeting so members who can't make it to the post in person can attend & paticipate. We have tried using the cameras & microphones built into tablets and laptops but both the sound and images are horrible. Most webcams are designed for single person use (within 2-3 feet) or for small conference rooms. Our meeting hall is fairly large (25 x 50 ft). Also conference room video equipment generally costs thousands of dollar. Way above what we can afford.

I have already looked at Amazon and find several camera/mike combinations in our price range. What I need is someone who can make recommendations based on actual use with one of these. Or someone who can steer us clear of something based on actual use. Someone can say "We use this and it's good" or "Don't waste your time with that unit."

Proton Meeting - 1 way only possible??

I'm a member of a fraternal organization and we are trying out Proton Meeting to expand our twice monthly membership meetings. However, none of my PC's have either a camera or a microphone and phone screens are simply too small to be usable for me.

I would be attending via the LibreWolf browser which looks like it works as well as Firefox.

It is possible to watch and listen in to the meeting without my use of a camera or mike? What does it show at the meeting about my presence?

A possible future. Perhaps in your lifetime.

What would you do with your life? If all forms of money became worthless (including all financial instruments) and you could instantly have any material thing you wanted (think Star Trek's replicators). No rents or mortgages. No car or boat loans. No bills to pay at all.

Working for a salary is no longer necessary and most forms of business (all forms of for-profit business) would have no reason to exist. Professional sports would decline or perhaps disappear completely. And a very large chunk of the internet would simply disappear.

Imagine your current dreams about retirement but for an entire lifetime.

What would your life be like?

Please no "It won't happen" responses. Because technologically, it can happen.

The Red Tomato that won't fully ripen.

When picking up my usual tomatos at the store, I always get the ones that need a bit of ripening before eating. Normally not a problem. Just put them in a sunny window for a day or two. But this one ... It's red, kinda orangish red. Size and shape it's your average grocery store tomato (beefsteak??). But after 2 weeks in a sunny window it's still hard. Half way between green and fully ripe. No sight of rot and any disease. It looks today just like the day I brought it home 3 weeks ago. I've never seen anything like it. Anybody know what's going on?

Finding an optometrist that can do computer glasses.

I have worn glasses most of my life. Had cataract surgery a few years ago which allowed me to be glasses free for a couple of years but now I'm back to wearing them. But I have always had problems seeing computer screens. Plain Blue Blockers aren't enough. I need a blue light blocking special prescription just for PC use.

But I can't find a doctor who even knows what computer glasses are. Much less how to do an exam for them. I assume the 1st requirement would to have a monitor in the exam room and use the Phoropter while looking at the monitor. I live in a major US city (DFW) and can't find any eye doctor who can do this. Any suggestions?

You would think, in this digital age, every eye doctor would want to do this. But none of the one's I've seen even seem interested.

I have been looking for a pair of security cameras for 2 years. If anyone can offer any suggestions, it would be much appreciated. I would like to place a couple of cameras in a pair of windows looking out onto my street. The cameras would be inside shooting through glass window panes. What I'm looking for:

  1. hardwired into one of my Linux Mint PCs. NO WIFI or Bluetooth. Each camera would be about 20 feet from the PC.

  2. no mike -no sound . Just video. Plain black & white is okay.

  3. No internet connection required. This will be a completely closed circuit. Inaccessible from anything or place other than my PC.

  4. low light without illumination. 1 camera would be looking out onto an area lite by a sodium (bright orange) street light.

  5. Not cost an arm & a leg.

  6. 110/120V powered. No batteries

Thanks
