Cross bars

Cross bars

Just received cross bars from an Amazon seller. My initial impression, they sit pretty far back is this normal? The span is not adjustable and since the Santa Fe roof rails are tapered you can't just slide these to a different position. Center to center spacing between the front and rear rail is 31".

Perm outdoor lights question

My soffits are slightly angled, so the outside at the eaves/fascia is lower than at the brick wall of the house. Any recommendations for installation to still get a nice illumination pattern? I'll of course do some trial and error, but I'll always take advice

Telecom giant can't send me a text message lol

Rogers over billed me as a result of a 5G gateway device change, their CS argues they didn't, so they said they would text me a link that would take me to their dispute process, and text message is apparently the only way to send me the link. They tried three times, the their tech dept tried, nadda. Meanwhile I've received texts from contacts and Hydro One this morning. Lol friggin brutal, it's making Starlink look more and more appealing.

When they attempted to sent it the first time the guy wanted to end the call and I said let's hangout until I actually receive it, glad I did, but here I am waiting on hold with a third department - not even sure if this dept will try to fix their text message issue or further discuss the billing issue lol.

Miele Futura Classic Fan Whine

We have Miele Futura dishwasher at our cottage, it doesn't get used much, maybe 40-50 times a year. The "Turbothermic Drying Fan" as they call it makes loud whining noise, almost jet engine-like.

Can anyone recommend cleaning/maintenance instructions that might solve this, or a replacement DIY?

'24 Santa Fe Hybrid Oil Capacity is Wrong

For those that do their own oil changes, have you noticed that a full fill on the dip stick is only 4.5L instead of the manual spec 4.8L? This includes filter replacement. For Americans this is a difference of 10oz. Doing 4.8L puts it way over the fill mark, it goes up to the very top of the flat section of the dip stick. I do oil changes on flat ground but have tried jacking up the front, each side one at a time, no additional drains out. When I've been in for warranty work I ask the dealer to humor me and check the oil level, and they confirm it's full and their solution is "bring it to us for the next oil change"... and pay $200.

This is 4.5L, exactly 4.5 on the mark. I've done 6 oil changes.

Level tongue and groove subfloor

I have T&G subfloor in a 1938 house that has some high and low spots and has gaps in some spot where the tongue is splintered off, and some open knots in the wood, and questionable seal throughout all T&G joints. I need it level before I proceed with flooring. What's my best option? I see Ardex K 60 might be an option, I'm just concerned about pouring it on the T&G

I wonder if I knock down high spots with a belt sander, then glue and stapling down 1/4" ply. Then reassess using a leveling compound before LVP

Looking into my PMP

I'm looking to get my PMP, I'm a construction/engineering project manager with 12 years experience. I struggle with text book learning and likely have undiagnosed ADHD. And like many, I am working full time and have a young family.

Realistically, how long does it generally take to obtain. And how hard is it? I'm guessing I should take a look at the mock exam to get a feel for it?

New Moderator Welcome

Hi guys, hope you're all having a great start to your summer. I wanted to give a shout out and a welcome our newest moderator, u/BigandTallGuy

I'll be honest, you guys make this sub extremely easy to moderate, there is rarely an issue, and when there is, half the time it's spam you guys report it and it's quick to take care of. This is a great sub and continues to grow rapidly, that's entirely thanks to all of you.

My Santa Fe has been plagued with issue after issue and I find myself not the fan that I was when I took over this sub 2 years ago, and my engagement here has waned as a result. BigandTallGuy has been a prominent member of this sub and is always ready to share help and advice. They'll be a great addition to the now 2 member mod team and I want to welcome and thank them for accepting the volunteer position.

Cheers

New recall campaign

Hyundai Canada

The front seat belt(s) in the affected vehicles may not be sufficiently attached to the seat frame due to a damaged snap-on anchor. The anchor may be damaged if removed or installed improperly during routine maintenance or repair. An insufficiently attached seatbelt anchor can increase the risk of injury to occupants during a crash.

Deck stain/sealer help

I have 500sqft of deck I want to protect. It's various ages of brown pressure treated (half is 2 years old and the other half is greyed but in solid shape). I don't want something that is going to peel. I'd like something that will restore the natural look of the wood (brown/cedar colour). Best of all if i can clean and reapply overtop in future years.

Rona has a good sale on Olympic Maximum and Olympic Summit that I would prefer to take advantage of if the product suits my needs above.

I bought a 8ft wide retractable awning. Exterior siding is pine that runs vertical. How do I find the studs to secure the mounting brackets too?

Interior walls are pine over drywall, so I can't pick up the studs on the interior with a stud finder and transfer out

Here is the siding, the awning will go above the slide door
