So like, I'm making a Muslim character and I need advice
For those who dont get it:
Murdoc = Crossbow : Crossbow is known as being a bum for his combination of luck based aim and an ability (more arrow damage) that does not help that aim at all unlike bow, (more arrows); and since hes green and a bum he fits best for murdoc
Russel = Club : Club wields a club and drumsticks are basically musical clubs since you use them to hit a percussion instrument + bonus points for being the same color (this is a joke, i am also a person of color, i can make this joke)
2-D = Scroll : Scroll is not only blue like 2-D but also is the only ball to have a more profesional understanding of words as she uses letters to attack, making her fit for being the vocalist.
Noodle = Katana : i genuenly had no good pick for noodle and as such had it between lance or katana, and i chose katana because katanas are japanese like noodle so it fit better.
Del = Chair : so this is a bit complicated, chair was not an actual ball but instead a proposed fan-made ball, and its mechanic was stunning the enemy, but this mechanic was taken by the later released cannon ball: Club. And once club's release, the fans realized it was now virtually impossible to logically have Chair in the game as-is after the release of club due to the similarity of their mechanic, ergo chair thus far is "Dead" and also related to club and also can do the cap bit since i draw club with a baseball cap.
The rappers in Feel good inc = The 3 ones in the back of the feel good inc one : those are Slammy, Duplicator and Orbital, the three prime examples of the phenomenon of Block breakers going for the game wehre theyre balanced for breaking blocks with upwards of 10000 health and scale from bouncing off walls to a gamemode where balls are balanced around fighting opponents with 100 health and scale from actually hitting the opponent instead of bouncing of walls which happens much less often than just bouncing off a wall so for example slammy who gets more damage off of bouncing is much stronger than its equivalent: sword, which only gets more damage from actually HITTING the opponent. They (except for dupe nowadays cuz he already got crippled to death by lance), like the rappers basically have the Weaponballs on their reins because of how unbalanced they are on weaponballs compared to their native gamemode.

Literally what
i want to be clear here: I cant be completely accurate for the sake of game balance, for example if jupiter was the same size ratio to earth as it is in real life it would cover the entire screen and possibly straight up be just simply way too big for the size of the screen as a whole, and saturn would be too. And i think the best way to think about it is to understand that A. ALL of the planets are not meant to be to scale with ALL of the planets, Group Red (The Inner planets and the moon) are meant to be to scale with eachother, Group Yellow (Saturn and Jupiter) are meant to be to scale with eachother, Group Blue (Uranus and Neptune) are meant to be to scale with eachother, The sun is NOT meant to be to scale with anything, the only basis it has is being bigger than jupiter. B. These innacuracies, while painful as someone who was a big nerd growing up, are necesary for game design because again, Jupiter can be only so big until unfair to try to avoid, this also goes for the sun and saturn, I also cant make the inner planets too small because they would be too hard to spot and it would be also be unfair because you could not see them in order to avoid them, so they ALL have to be within a safe size ratio for the sake of game design. Theyre more meant to be close to planet diagrams.
also, i would appreciate if i could also get appreciation for my art on the planets, ratios aside. (second image so you can see them so you can look at what they looked like before i bitcrushed them to hell) because i am really proud of how uranus, the sun and jupiter turned out. Btw they will not looked bitcrushed in game because i will scale them in engine to fit this size plan.
lastly for those confused: the reason saturn has an asset of it turned on its side its becaus in the game it does a little saw attack where it spins and speeds up like a spindash. uranus doesnt do this because if it did it'd feel repetitive, im thinking something relating to the spear on its symbol or with the whole god of the sky thing but i decided to make Saturn have the ring related attack considering saturn has a bigger and more noticeable ring so its more of a Saturn thing although uranus does have a ring too, plus uranus is less ring centric than saturn considering for a while we couldn't see the rings for a big while becasue we didnt have the technology.

So like, these are for a game, and are based on more like, space diagrams and stuff, and i thought the moon was like the wrong size but apparently it does have an appropriate size ratio to mars and mercury, maybe its the earth (and venus by proxy) that are way too small?
otherwise im really proud of the texturing on the sun, jupiter and uranus I think thats some of the best stuff i've done in a 3d program
edit: Am correcting the size ratios of the outer planets but I do have to state that upon review jupiter and saturn will be a tad bit downsized so they can fit on the screen without taking too much space from the screen because in short you have to dodge most of the planets and this includes jupiter and saturn, specially saturn which does a saw attack where it basically spindashes at you; and if jupiter and saturn were the same ratio to earth irl they would take the entire screen. BUT i WILL fix the ratios on uranus and neptune, i had the notion uranus was a little bit smaller. I will also be downsizing mercury, the moon, and mars to make them a lil bit more accurate, with their ratio to earth (and venus) , the sun will not be changed at all for the same reasons im not making jupiter size accurate to earth.
I will be putting the correction in a comment. but PLEASE understand that as much as i am a nerd i cannot have jupiter and saturn cover THE ENTIRE SCREEN for the sake of correct ratios because that would be bad game design.
lastly, just to be clear, while i do believe this is easy to understand visually JUST IN CASE the planet under saturn is NOT another planet, its just saturn turned on its side / from the top (this is because saturn has to do a spin attack like a saw)

I just finished programming all 5 new characters for the roster, now gotta do the bosses voicelines and music, BY THE WAY, Speedy's theme is going to be straight up In the hall of the mountain king. Straight up. The Voicelines for Slammy are already done
Changed the naming scheme for the balls, adding like a title instead of a honorific. So i wont run out of honorifics to use, and its like more readable.
added the respective dice enemies for the new roster
got like 6 of the 10 bosses so far basically fully voice acted in like an hour.
in the game, one of the character im planning has an ability in which you are prompted to type a word, if the word is in a word list you get a proyectile that does damage equal to the word's length, so, I also want to add a blacklisted word list which would include stuff like slurs for example so that if the game identifies you trying those words the game kills you, will the bots flag me for having the words in the script even if its for the purpose of preventing their use?

So im making a game, not going to explain it because its not relevant to the issue at hand but in short the issue is that one of the characters has a special attack where they explode their wand to create a full screen-wide flash that hurts all enemies on screen at once; the flash is light pink and slowly fades away, but since when testing the looks of it and stuff and tried a white flash which hurt my eyes a bit I realized i might need to add an option for photosensitive people, lest a photosensitive player may have a seizure due to my negligence. So the current plan is to make it be a black rectangle instead of pink, and if i do this when you press the key for the ability (given you have the photosensitive mode turned on) the screen will INSTANTLY turn black (opposed to light pink) and the black rectangle covering the screen will fade away slowly, it takes about 3.30 seconds for it to fully fade away, it does this exactly the same way the normal pink one does with the same duration, the only change is making the screen turn to black instead of pink. to recap, with the press of a button the ENTIRE screen INSTANTLY turns pink and slowly fades away for like 3.30 seconds untill its fully gone, it does not flicker rapidly, nor does it fade in whatsoever the entire screen turns solid color for one frame before it starts fading away. Would giving the player the option to make the screen flash black instead of pink help?
I would put my weight and age but i believe this is not relevant here as the people in potential medical concern are not myself, but rather my potential consumers which may be of any weight and age which i am completely unaware of.
So, im working on chapter 3, and currently im working on adding 4 more characters.
The First 3 that i will add are Spear (already got her fully done), Wrench (mostly ditto), and Sceptre (I really like sceptre). So im puzzled between 3 balls to add:
- Bow, who is a classic and the quintessential pure ranged option the game's currently missing (if you dont count staff's fire bolts or the Bullets of Wrench's Tanq. (not Tank. Tanq, short for Tanqueta); which i dont because they have main melee attacks outside of these proyectiles)
- Grimoire, who is very interesting.
- Unarmed, which is also a Classic and would be interesting to code. but like really hard to figure out what to do.
