New to UGC and honestly kinda scared to start 😭 Any advice?

I’ve been wanting to get into UGC for a while now, but I keep getting stuck on the portfolio part. I’m seeing a lot of creators who already have tons of content, brand deals, or a pretty big following, and honestly it makes me feel like I’m already behind before I’ve even started lol.

Do you actually need a really impressive portfolio before reaching out to brands? Or is it okay to start with a few sample videos and build from there? I’m trying not to spend forever “preparing” and never actually pitch anyone. 😭for those who started with little to no experience, what did your first few steps actually look like?

service that auto-files formal noise complaints against party buses in luxury neighborhoods

luxury residential corridors get wrecked every weekend by loud party buses blasting bass at 2 AM. city code enforcement agencies take months to issue citations, leaving residents furious.

built a platform that lets HOA boards register their street corridors. when a party bus rolls through blasting music, residents hit a one-click web button. the system captures local noise decibel logs, cross-references vehicle commercial license registrations, and auto-files formal administrative complaints directly with the city transportation commission. charging HOA boards $150/month to keep commercial party vehicles out of their neighborhoods.

Agree or nah?

The hardest part of working out isn't the workout—it's showing up.

I've realized that my biggest obstacle isn't lifting weights or finishing a workout, it's convincing myself to get to the gym in the first place.

Almost every time I plan to work out, I find myself making excuses. "Maybe I'll go later." "I'm too tired today." "I'll make up for it tomorrow." But on the days I actually push myself to walk through the gym doors, I rarely regret it. In fact, I usually leave feeling better than I did before I arrived.

It made me wonder if the real battle isn't physical at all, but mental. The hardest part seems to be overcoming that initial resistance and building enough discipline to show up consistently, even when motivation isn't there.

For those of you who have managed to stay consistent for months or even years, what helped you overcome that mental barrier? Did you build a routine, change your mindset, or find a trick that made showing up easier?

I'd love to hear what worked for you because I know I'm probably not the only one who struggles with this.

You seem pretty avoidant for someone who wants to be seen.

You want connection. You want someone to stay, to listen, to sit beside you when things feel heavy. You want to be known in a way that feels safe and real. So, you become avoidant. Not because you don't care, but because you care deeply. You step back before anyone has the chance to walk away from you.

Growing up is realizing weekends somehow became "catch up on responsibilities" days.

I used to count down to weekends because they meant freedom. Now they're mostly for laundry, errands, and trying to recharge before Monday. Everyday feels like a task, but a weekend is different.
