Flower or leaf

The popular question leaf or flower?

Konjac

The two pics are about a week's difference in growth, once it decided to grow it took off.

Zone 7a, currently outside.

The other bulb sitting there is a zz, it's just hanging out while it grows a bit more, and that thing its wearing like a sassy crown... it's a cat face orb Weaver spider.

Modrite fire

Work took me north yesterday, thankfully stayed south of the river.

The ferry was still running though.

GI visit today. GP sucks

GI told me today it's time for a GJ tube.

Weight is stable, but labs are not and the malnutrition is worsening.

I've been T1 diabetic for 20+ years. My endo actually suggested a GLP1 due to insulin resistance. Im currently in the i don't think so group. I've been on jardiance for that, but insurance just switched to farxiga and it's not working as well.

Im kind of at a loss right now. I have a swallow study and repeat emptying study next week, then it will be off to the surgeon.

App issue

I've been a member and used the banking app for years(10+).

My parents and children also use USAA and the app, and we have had our accounts connected to send money back and forth.

Two weeks ago i sent both my parents money and my kid.

Yesterday I went to transfer money to my kid as a surprise only to find they aren't showing in my connected accounts anymore.

I have an external account to a CU for my car payment, and another that just reappeared from a car I had 8 years ago, bit the ones I use the most are gone.

When I go into manage external accounts they are there, but I can not transfer money to them.

Any way to fix this?

Konjac woke up

Konjac finally started growing. It's leaf absorbed in November, left a little nub behind, and it's been a tiny nub since(last Pic was the tiny nub that existed since November, it was taken in march)

About 6 weeks ago i got tired of it sitting on a pot of soil in the house, bunged it outside onto the porch and said do your thing.

Mostly ignored it. Once in awhile sprinkled a tiny bit of water around it.

And now it's doing its thing and finally growing

Apartment in south hill/ lincoln heights area

Couldnt settle on a flair so picked this one to rave on an Actually decent landlord.

I know summer is moving time, and there have been some posts looking, so figured i would share. I benefit nothing from this post except maybe a new neighbor.

It's a 4 plex, 2 up 2 down. It's one of the upstairs that's available.

On 27th in the Lincoln heights area(pretty much behind the shopping center).

I honestly can't remember the base rent, I pay extra pet rent(he normally allows 2 small pets but was willing to work with me and 3 feline toddlers) and my rent is under $1400.

We have a pretty small backyard that one of the neighbors and I try to keep up(we tilled and reseeded, have been getting rid of the pokey things to step on, have a small container garden). We wanted a place her grandkids could play, and we could relax.

Has a garage.

Landlord is hands off involved. He does a lot of the repairs and maintenence, along with landscaping himself so is present often, but is very unobtrusive. He responds and takes care of things quickly.

They are non-smoking, but there is a deck out back. Mines covered in plants currently.

New appliances if I remember right(I toured both upstairs), wsg included, washer/ dryer, garage, fireplace, and quiet but nice neighbors. New carpet and paint.

It's really not a bad area, though the senior complex across the street has some wild parties on the weekend, and people do tend to drive down 27th like idiots at times.

I've been here 9 months and plan on staying awhile. One of my neighbors has been here years, and the other about a year.

HOT HOT hawwwttt in topeka.. and in spokane - just fun stuff in here

I have an LED sign in the back of my jeep.

I try to keep the words fun or uplifting, though on a good day(off work times because i go to people's homes and have to remain neutral) I'll change it to snarky and political at times. Its not uncommon for my day to involve 200+ miles, I like to keep it fun.

Last year I got some good suggestions, so throwing it out there again.... any favorite phrases or jokes you think I should add?

Here's the current list, it recently got deleted somehow so I'm starting over on my list of faves. These, I admit, have always been my faves, so happy to reuse them, but would love more fun variety.

Also, nothing much longer in length than these two longer ones please, takes to long to scroll through.

well pick my toe it's HOT HOT hawwwttt in topeka... and spokane

Ready Player One?

Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright it's not the end.

Looking for these nutcrackers

I'm on the hunt for this set of wizard of Oz nutcracker.

I have found similar, the biggest difference is the nose.

The set I'm looking for has an actual nose, not just painted on.

I think this is a Kurt Adler, but haven't discovered that for sure.

Any idea what's going on with this one?

At first I thought it was just a shadow trick on the back end, but after watching it for about 5 minutes, watching it move and moving out of shadow, turning a bit - it's not a shadow.

Any thoughts on what would have caused this?

I know deer wander, and can go quite far, this area where spotted is a very rural community, everyone has decent amount of acreage, and none allow hunting on their land. This community tries to keep the "homeland" a more protected area.

Actual question... maybe weird though

So, I'm at work and started thinking, and comments here got me thinking.

Let me back up a bit and add background for the question - I'm a hospice nurse. We administer meds different ways, IV, SQ, pills, oral liquid intensols, suppositories - and the liquid and most tablets/capsules can also be given rectally.

Absorption through mucus membranes tends to be a bit faster in most cases.

So, all that said, could dry powdered shrooms be encapsulated and given rectally?

Has anyone even been brave enough to try?

I had been thinking to experiment and freeze dry some, I don't think I can deal with the smell coming out of the dryer if I do.

questions on dosing and form, dried, fresh etc

I plan on experimenting.

I want to dry&powder(and make chocolate), and i want to freeze dry some.

Normal dehydrating - should they be left intact, cut up before drying, or broken up after drying?

Freeze drying *THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT BASED ON A PREVIOUS COMMENT THREAD* - Would you dose based on pre dried weight when freeze dried(because a gram would be a lot more mushroom)? Now that I've typed that out pre drying makes sense and absolutely stupid to ask 😅.

Any suggestions for the freeze drying outside the norm(the norm being prefreeze- not necessary, my choice), throw them on the tray and stick them in and let it do it's thing. I may have to cut some to a smaller size, the freeze drying makes them huge.

I'm going out of town Saturday and won't be back until Tuesday.

I can't bring these with me unfortunately.

What should I be expecting when I get back? (I've had FAE issues, think it's fixed now)

The other bag has been an issue from the start, due to my carelessness. It got dropped just right for the block to fall apart on the top half. It's been way slower and only had 1 as of yesterday. To be honest, as fuzzy as it was at one point I wasn't sure it wasn't contaminated, but decided to watch and wait.

I woke up to a dead raccoon in my yard this morning. It looks like it's Just sleeping and no, I didn't try to wake it up.

My concern is that it doesn't look injured, so I'm worried about disease.

Who would I call for removal?
