Is it disrespectful to ask a somali man “how is your wife”?

I asked a married friend how his wife was doing and he said that was disrespectful and I should never ask a man how his wife is doing and instead ask how his family is because it’s more respectful. But he has no kids so to me it’s weird to ask how the family is when the family is just one person. Is it actually disrespectful?

We’re trading for Nikola Jokic, remember this post

Brad didn’t trade Jaylen just to make some babyshit move like going after Trey Murphy or whatever. He’s going to go big game hunting.

Paul George and Nikola Jokic have basically the same contract. 1 guaranteed year left and then a player option for ~$60m. Their contracts match up financially and length wise.

Jokic has been eligible to sign his contract extension all offseason but hasn’t. Why? Because he’s waiting to see if the Nuggets can put a decent roster together around him. Instead, they lost Valancunas and Tim Hardaway Jr, and are gonna salary dump Cam Johnson so they can resign Payton Watson. They’re gonna be worse than the team that lost in the first round last season.

Jokic is gonna ask out next summer and we’re gonna be right there with a $60m expiring contract and 6 first rounders to capitalize on it.

[Smith] With Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley in the fold, the Celtics are at 15 players on standard contracts (including Chris Cenac). I've got Boston at $3.5M over the tax and $5.1M under their first-apron hard cap (triggered by signing Robinson with the NTMLE)

We’re definitely going to duck the tax, who do yall think gets dumped? Hauser? Garza + Banton?

[Smith] Keep an eye on an extension for Neemias Queta and the Celtics. Sounds like things were progressing in a positive direction there. The Mitchell Robinson addition doesn't change Boston's plans with Queta.

Sounds like we got a Neemi extension to pair with our new C Mitchell Robinson. We locking down our center rotation for the next few years 💪

[Stein/Fischer] It's believed that Looney is also on Boston's list of center targets, which is likewise known to feature former Celtics big man Robert Williams III.

Kevon Looney and Rob Williams as our big FA center targets in the big 2026. Are we cooked?

There is only one Bucks player remaining from the 2021 Champion team

Yes you guessed it, Thanasis Antetekounmpo.

As the longest tenured Buck and an experienced champion, Thanasis will help guide the franchise into this new era.

Who of the top guards will actually be a point guard at the next level?

Peterson - I don’t think he has the vision to be a full time PG, too much tunnel vision

Acuff - PG

Wagler - I don’t think he has the rim pressure to be a full time PG, and doesn’t have the generational vision or pace of someone like Haliburton to make up for it

Burries - Better off as a SG or a “PG” who defers most of the offense initiating to a star (like Jamal Murray or Derrick White)

Flemings - PG

MBJ - Combo guard but can play both positions at a high level, just comes down to whether or not the team that drafts him already has a PG (looking at you LAC)

Philon - PG

Per Gary Washburn, the Celtics are NOT shopping Jaylen Brown, and are trying to trade for Giannis without giving him up. Doesn’t think it will happen

  • Ult duration back to 7 seconds

  • Ult healing back to 50 HP per second

Is this too much to hope for 😫

Some questions from a new doom player

  1. Should I always be fully charging my punches?

  2. Should I always take the power block perk even if the other team doesn’t have Ana/Orisa?

  3. If the other team is fully grouped together guarding a choke (like for example kings row first point), what should I do?

“Pokeslop” only exists because this playerbase cries whenever dive is remotely good

People will sit there and be fine with a pocketed Ashe running the lobby or a sojourn and widow clicking heads all game or hanzo having his one shot logs back. But the moment any dive hero is relevant everyone makes a stink. People are supposedly tired of the hitscan pokeslop but if blizzard were to add a genuinely decent dive character, this fanbase will cry about it. See, vendetta who was nerfed into hell, or even Anran who is balanced or even underpoweed, yet somehow gets far more hate than the actually broken pokeslop heroes

You can’t have it both ways

How would you feel if the NBA implemented a rule where teams received a discount for giving max contracts to players they drafted?

Personally, I think it’s really dumb that teams are in essence being punished for being good at drafting. Like the Thunder shouldn’t have to break up their roster because Sam Presti is a drafting savant. Being a well run organization should be rewarded not punished.

So how would you feel if the NBA implemented a rule to basically ease the cap hit of max and supermax contracts, as long as the player on the max was drafted by that organization? Something like a 25% max given to a player drafted by that organization only counts as 15% towards the cap. Or that only X% of the salary counts towards the luxury tax/2nd apron.

Becoming a registered nurse to get PCE, how crazy is it?

Hear me out. I am a late 20s mechanical engineer with 5 years of experience who had a change of heart and decided to go into medicine. I have settled on going to PA school, but acquiring enough PCE to get in is a huge hurdle for me, mainly because it would require taking a massive paycut (I make ~100k right now) and have family to support, so I can’t realistically quit my job to go make $18 an hour as an EMT

My slightly convoluted idea was to instead get either a BSN or ADN to become a registered nurse so I could still support my family while getting PCE. I would do this part time while still working my current job, and then work as a RN to get my PCE. This way I never have to have an abrupt and massive paycut.

Let me know what you all think and if this is a dumb idea.

Am I bugging or is it a violation of privacy for the girl you’re talking to send your pics to her friends?

We all know a lot of girls love to talk to their friends about who they’re talking to, and they will send a guys pics to the gc to get their approval or whatever it is girls do. As a man I would never do that, first of all because I couldn’t care less what my friends think of my girls appearance, but also because I see it as a huge invasion of privacy. To this day my closest friends don’t know who my last talking stage was, even though we were talking for a whole year. They just knew I was speaking to someone.

Now I’m a decent looking guy alx, so I’m not worried or insecure about it, but I’m also a very private guy, I don’t post on socials and I don’t tell anyone about my talking stages so a girl doing this is a bit off putting. Is this just a difference between men and women?

Koa Peat is reportedly considering returning to college

Source

> Koa Peat's struggles shooting the basketball this week were well-documented as his new mechanics seem to have backfired and erased whatever progress he made during the season. The unfortunate truth is that Peat's issues were a popular subject of conversation in the gym on Monday, and while that doesn't take away from all the other things Peat can do to impact winning, it is expected to have some impact on his draft stock.

> Consequently, many now wonder if Peat's shooting concerns could impact his decision to stay in this draft, with both a major NIL payday and another Final Four-caliber roster waiting for him at Arizona. Also, the 2027 NBA Draft has significantly less star power, which could allow him to be a much higher selection. Well, apparently Peat may be wondering that too. Multiple league sources indicated that during his team interviews, Peat reportedly asked executives themselves for feedback about whether he should stay in the draft. While gathering that type of direct feedback is the exact point of going through the NBA Draft process, and he should be credited for his willingness ask questions and get the best advice available, it does reveal that a final decision for Peat has not yet been made.

Givony on DP vs AJ: “I’ve seen those guys play on the same court in-person at least 8-10 times over the years, dating back to their U16 Team USA training camp, and not once did I come away thinking Dybantsa was the better prospect, including when they played each other this year”

“AJ Dybantsa is a great prospect, and im confident he’s going to be an All Star. But Darryn Peterson is on another level talent wise”

From the most recent episode of the Zach Lowe show. Givony is surprised that AJ has become the consensus #1, and he still has Peterson first himself.

What do yall think?
