Caesar/MGM property: can guest check in & how to use to use free self parking for rewards member?

I have 2 questions for someone that did either these recently, I know rules and such change all the time.

Can my guest check in if I add their name to the booking at Caesar or MGM properties ( haven't booked one yet ), we are both flying in at different times 6-8 hrs different.
Also I might consider getting a 2nd room at the Rio / Venetian and have my guest check in.

Second question, how do I use the free self parking since I have both the Caesars/MGM credit card?

Thanks

Can I use (2) x 65W USB-C chargers—one for my Lenovo laptop and one for my USB-C hub's PD input?

So I already have an extra 65W USB-C charger and the one that came with the Lenovo laptop. I plan on getting a USB-C Hub for external monitors and stuff. That HUB either an Anker or Ugreen brand has PD-in. Can I plug the charger into the laptop USB-C and then use the other charger into the HUB's PD-in and is this safe? I saw that the HUB takes 15W so it might trigger not enough power for laptop to charge/function with the HUB. Reason why is I dont feel like spending $30-40 on a 100W charger

I drew a visual guide

Lenovo T14 Gen 6 Snapdragon + 40B00300US Dock Intermittently Fails to Detect DisplayPort Monitors

I'm having an intermittent external display issue with my setup and I'm trying to figure out the cause.

Hardware:

  • Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 (Snapdragon)
  • Lenovo ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock (40B00300US)
  • Two ASUS ProArt PA278QV 27" monitors connected via DisplayPort
  • Using the USB-C cable that came with the dock

All firmware, drivers, and software are fully up to date.

The issue is that the dock will sometimes detect and output to the monitors, but not consistently. When it fails, the monitors don't even flash a "DisplayPort" or "No Signal" message, as if they aren't receiving any signal at all.

Occasionally, everything works perfectly and the laptop boots with both monitors active. Other times, I have to open the laptop lid or unplug and reconnect the USB-C cable before Windows detects the monitors and starts outputting to them.

Has anyone experienced this with a Snapdragon ThinkPad or this dock? Is this likely a dock firmware issue, a DisplayPort compatibility problem, a USB-C connection issue, or something else? What troubleshooting steps or fixes would you recommend?

RPU swapped out digital electric meter for Advanced one today?

Got home today and found a door tag saying RPU swapped out my already digital electric meter with their so-called “Advanced” meter. Went on their website, and it sounds like a bunch of baloney. I guess we’ll see if this actually benefits anyone besides them.
Since it’s wireless now, I guess they won’t have to pay a guy to come out and “read” the meter anymore. One day I was home and watched the meter reader standing over by my neighbor’s yard—over 100 feet away—using some cartoon-level squint trying to read my meter. The numbers are so sun-faded they’re impossible to see up close, let alone from that far away. So maybe we'll save a few bux from not having an actual person recording the meters since it's wireless.

While we’re at it, the billing cycles make no sense either. Half the time they’re 31–33 days long, then they charge you into Tier 2 and Tier 3 because you went over your “baseline.” Of course you’re going to go over when they add an extra 2–3 days to the billing cycle. If the baseline is meant for 30 days, then use a standardized billing period. Charging higher rates because the cycle is longer than normal is ridiculous.

And don’t get me started on the water meter. The numbers are faded, covered in dirt, and barely readable even when you’re kneeling right next to it. I know because I had to shut the water off when my main line was leaking. Yet somehow the meter reader is supposedly reading it from above? I don’t buy it. I don’t even think they’re actually checking it. The concrete lid has weeds growing around it, and it never even looks like it’s been opened.

There's my rant. Happy Friday and stay cool.

New Fascia Boards — Paint Now or Just Prime Before House Repaint?

Hello,

I’m having my tile roof replaced and all fascia boards are being replaced at the same time. The roofing company said they will prime and paint the fascia any color I want.
However, I’m planning to repaint the entire exterior of the house within the next 1–2 months.

Would it be better for them to:
Prime and paint the fascia now, or
Only prime it and leave the final finish coat for the exterior painter?
I’m trying to figure out what will make it easier (and better) for the upcoming exterior paint job.

Any advice from painters or contractors is appreciated.

My California Real Estate License (Salesperson Journey 2026) Detailed

I started by Googling “California real estate license school” and made sure each option was approved by the California Department of Real Estate (DRE). From there, I narrowed it down to 3 schools that stood out, read reviews, and watched YouTube videos to get a better feel for each.

After comparing pricing and what each program offered, I chose AceableAgent because of its higher reported success rate. Before enrolling, I also searched for discounts and coupon codes. I ended up going with the deluxe package since it included PrepAgent.

I started in February and finished the coursework in April. Each class has an 18-day timer, but I was able to complete them in about 10–12 business days. That gave me extra time to review and take practice tests. Once the 18-day period ends, you can schedule your proctored exam. They provide detailed instructions on what’s allowed during the test—just note that it must be taken on a computer or laptop with a webcam.

You get your score immediately after finishing (70% is passing), but keep in mind you only get two attempts per course before having to retake it. It also takes about 2–5 days for them to verify your exam and issue your certificate. Repeating this process for all three courses took me roughly 60–65 days total.

After passing the final course, I went to the DRE website to find an approved Live Scan location nearby. I chose one near a UPS store. The fees were $35 (rolling fee) plus $49 (DRE processing), totaling $84, this may vary depending on your location.

After a few days i checked my Live Scan status to see the status of my background check:
https://www.california-livescan.com/live-scan-status

Next, I created my eLicensing account on the DRE website and scanned all my documents in advance. Once my final course was approved, I gathered my three certificates and Live Scan paperwork and submitted my application online. The system walks you through how to upload everything.

While not required, I highly recommend naming your files clearly. For example:

Course certificates:

Smith_John_Practice.pdf

Smith_John_Elective.pdf

Other documents:

About 5 business days later, I received an email allowing me to schedule my state exam. You can preview available dates here:

https://secure.dre.ca.gov/publicasp/currentexams.asp

I schedule mine two weeks out on a Saturday to avoid traffic. That gave me about 10 business days to focus on studying.

I spent about a week going through PrepAgent. It includes vocabulary flashcards and seven subject modules. My initial scores were around 60–65%, and I got 67% on the first master exam (75 questions). I reviewed missed questions, focused on one module at a time, and gradually raised my scores to 75%+. I completed each module 4–5 times and took the master exam about four times.

Then on my 2nd week, I used CompuCram (you can usually find 30–40% discount codes online). It has more material than PrepAgent and offers multiple ways to study vocabulary—flashcards, matching, and fill-in-the-blank. The matching feature helped me the most.

Each module has a progress bar—my goal was 100% completion by reviewing vocabulary at least twice and taking practice tests 3–4 times. The master exam simulates the real test with 150 questions and a timer. I initially broke it into 50-question sessions with short breaks, and completed the full exam 4–5 times.

There’s also a “readiness gauge” that turns green at 80%, but I pushed mine to 95% before test day.

The day before the exam, I did 1 final master test from both courses and watched Dee Kumar’s 100-question review video (about 1–2 hours if you speed it up). After that, I relaxed and got good rest.

On exam day, before my drive there I had the music low volume and drove carefully to avoid anything. I keep telling myself, " you can do this, you got this, this should be easy, a walk in the park. Then I arrived 1.5 hours early to find parking and get familiar with the area in case of delays. At the test center, I used the restroom, took a few moments to calm myself, and checked in 30 minutes early. They provide a locker for your belongings—you keep only your ID. There’s also a quick security check.

I asked for a whiteboard and tested the marker before starting (though I didn’t end up using it). I wore a sweater since the room temperature changed—it started warm and got chilly once the AC kicked in. The testing room was dim, and the exam was taken on a computer with a mouse.

The test interface shows which questions are answered or unanswered, so I skipped tougher ones and came back later. You can also deselect answers and revisit them.

I noticed about 5–10 questions that were very similar to what I saw in PrepAgent and CompuCram. Most others were concept-based and similar in style, though sometimes worded differently. A few questions were tricky and required careful reading, and some had two plausible answers. I flagged about 15 questions to revisit.

It took me about 1.5 hours to finish. Even though I felt confident, I was still nervous. There were still many people taking the test but I keep telling myself "I passed", "I did it" on the way home. The results typically post within 5–10 business days, but since I finished early, my result wasn’t posted until after the full exam window ended.

Overall:

The exam really tests your understanding of concepts rather than just memorization. There are some vocabulary questions but not necessary that you need to know all, I just learn as I go when taking those practice tests but most are written in a way that checks if you truly understand the material. Think of it as being able to explain the concepts in simple terms—almost like “explain it to a 5-year-old.” I think the PrepAgent will do well but I needed the extra boost and went to CompuCram based on the "more" if gives you. Also, I find it more engaging when you study on a computer vs iPad/mobile devices.

Right now I am waiting for DRE to complete my application so I can start looking for a brokerage near me. Hopefully they update my status to complete in the next few business days.

Best of luck to everyone and like Joe from PrepAgent says: Keep it concise and keep it simple" is the signature catchphrase often used by Joe from PrepAgent.

Looking for a window company to replace all the windows in my home. I’ve been seeing a lot of ads on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube—seems like they’re tracking me now 😅

I came across Window King LA and noticed they have good reviews across their LA/OC and Riv/SB locations.

Does anyone have experience with them or others recommendations companies?

Also looking for tips on:
Cost wise 8-10 windows now and maybe half later upstairs or the whole sabang quality discount and sliding back glass door?
