Finally got a Salesforce AE screening, how should I prepare?

Hi everyone,

After around 5–6 applications for AE roles at Salesforce over the past year, I finally got invited to an initial recruiter screening for an Account Executive New Logo, CBU/Mid-Market role in Europe. I know it’s only the first step, but I’m pretty excited about it.

I’m based in Europe , with 5+ years of B2B sales experience, but zero direct SaaS sales experience. I started in full-cycle new business sales and progressed into Corporate Key Account Management. My quota attainment over the last four years has been roughly 200% each year.

My background is in facility, which is a highly commoditised and cost-driven market. There often isn’t an obvious product differentiator, so I’ve had to learn to sell through discovery and build value cases around operational efficiency, total cost, service and sustainability. I’m hoping that experience translates well into technology sales.

I’ve also been using Salesforce CRM for 5+ years and recently started the Account Executive (AE) Trailmix on Trailhead. If you have any recommendations for Trailmixes I should do before the screening (a week from now), let me know!

I’d love to hear from people familiar with Salesforce:

\\- How selective is the initial recruiter screening? Does getting this call mean the CV/application already passed a meaningful filter?
\\- What should I expect during the first call, and how should I prepare?
\\- How would you position my lack of SaaS experience?
\\- What does the interview process typically look like after this?
\\- Anything specific I should know about CBU/New Logo/Mid-Market?

Salesforce is genuinely a company I’d love to build a career at. Longer term, I also have the ambition to spend some time working in NYC. I know an US move from Europe would require a very strong performance, but becoming a top performer and potentially earning an opportunity like that is exactly the kind of long-term goal that motivates me.

Thanks for reading!

Good routes into tech sales

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice from people already working in tech/SaaS sales, particularly those based in Europe or who have made a similar transition.

I’m 27 and based in the Netherlands. I have 5+ years of B2B sales experience and have progressed from Account Manager to Corporate Key Account Manager.

In my previous role, I managed all sorts of customers in the facility industry (hygiene solutions) and grew my portfolio from roughly €1.4M to €3M in annual revenue within two years. I’ve consistently performed well against quota, achieving 200–300% of target across multiple years. Today I manage 50+ larger corporate accounts representing approximately €4M in annual revenue.

For my next step, I’d really like to move into tech/SaaS sales. I’m genuinely interested in technology, pick up new systems and concepts quickly, and I particularly enjoy consultative/value-based selling: understanding a customer’s business, identifying opportunities and bringing the right people together to build a solution.

I also have experience with complex sales cycles, tenders, bid management, negotiations and account expansion, and I’ve been working with the Salesforce CRM for 5+ years.

I’m currently looking at roles such as Account Executive, Commercial/Enterprise AE, Sales Specialist and tech-focused Account Management positions. Given my existing sales experience, I’d ideally like to avoid completely restarting as an SDR/BDR unless that’s genuinely the smartest way into the industry.

There’s also a longer-term ambition influencing which companies I’m looking at. I enjoy living in the Netherlands, but at some point in my career I’d love the opportunity to spend a period working in New York City with my partner coming with me of course.

I’m not expecting to join a company in Amsterdam and ask for a NYC transfer six months later. I’m thinking much more long-term: join a global tech company in the Netherlands, build a strong track record for a few years, learn the industry and potentially pursue an internal US opportunity if one becomes available.

\- Which companies would you target in the Netherlands with my background?
\- Would you consider me competitive for AE/AM/Sales Specialist roles without previous SaaS experience, or is SDR/BDR still the most realistic entry point?
\- Which larger tech companies actually have good international/internal mobility between Europe and the US?
\- If NYC were a 3–5+ year goal, how would you structure the career moves between now and then?
\- Any companies or types of roles you’d specifically recommend avoiding?

Not looking for a shortcut. I’m mainly trying to make the next move strategically so that I’m building the right experience for the next 5–10 years rather than just taking another sales job.

Would really appreciate advice from people who’ve done this themselves or work at these kinds of companies.

Werkgever biedt na 10 maanden ziekte zelf VSO Hoe nu verder?

Hi!

einde dienstverband per 1 november;
vrijstelling van werkzaamheden vanaf ondertekening met behoud van salaris;
eerst alle resterende vakantie-uren opnemen tijdens die vrijstelling;
leaseauto direct bij aanvang vrijstelling inleveren;
€20.000 bruto totaal, inclusief transitievergoeding én “tegemoetkoming” voor de commissie die ik tijdens ziekte niet heb ontvangen;

Chronic bowel symptoms for 6–7 years, daily blood when wiping, worried about colorectal cancer

Hi everyone,

I’m a 26-year-old male and I’ve been struggling with bowel issues for around 6–7 years. I also have diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), which I know can affect the gut, but lately I’ve become increasingly worried about the possibility of something more serious such as colorectal cancer.

The symptoms started around age 19 with episodes of pencil-thin stools, lower left abdominal cramps/spasms, diarrhea, floating stools and changes in bowel habits.

Over the years the symptoms changed. For a long time I mostly had soft, sticky stools, increased gas and a feeling that I wasn’t completely empty after a bowel movement.

Last month I had a week of significant diarrhea. Interestingly, after that episode my bowel movements actually became much more normal for some weeks. The stools were more formed, I needed to wipe much less, and overall I felt things were improving.

However, during the last few weeks things seem to have worsened again. I’ve had more diarrhea, a lot more gas, and the feeling that I don’t completely empty my bowels is there sometimes. I’ve also been under a lot of stress recently due to work-related issues and a difficult re-integration process after being off work.

What worries me most is the bleeding.
For the last couple of weeks I have noticed bright red blood almost daily when wiping. What I find strange is that it’s usually only on the first wipe. Sometimes the stool is already gone from the toilet paper and I only see a small bright red spot mixed with brown residue. After that first wipe, the following wipes are usually completely normal with no visible blood or just some red blood without stool residue. I’ve had this more times in the past but now it’s consistent, i hope it’s just a fissure or something. It does sometimes hurt when wiping, but not always:

Because of that pattern I wonder whether it sounds more like a fissure, hemorrhoid or irritation near the anus, but I honestly don’t know. I also never look at my stool because of the fear of seeing blood.

I have had some testing 2-3 years ago:

Bloodwork showed no anemia.

Fecal calprotectin was once 90 and later repeated at 10 (although some water was in the sample, GI said it didnt matter)

Abdominal ultrasound was normal.

A GI specialist told me that because these symptoms have existed for 6–7 years without major progression, colorectal cancer would be very unlikely and that she does not think a colonoscopy is necessary at this point (although she said I could have one if I wanted).

Despite that reassurance, I still struggle with the fear that something has been missed, such as a polyp or cancer developing slowly over time.

I am honestly scared of having a colonoscopy, but I’m also scared of not having one and missing something serious.

Given:
6–7 years of symptoms,
normal bloodwork,
normal imaging,
bright red blood mostly on wiping,

does this sound more consistent with IBS/hemorrhoids/fissures, or would you personally push for a colonoscopy?

I would really appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

Burn-out, conflict met werkgever, discussie over loon én bedrijfsarts die beperkingen ziet. Hoe zouden jullie hiernaar kijken?

Hi,

concentratie en focus;
omgaan met deadlines en tijdsdruk;
veel schakelen tussen werkzaamheden;
hoog werktempo;
emotionele belasting;
omgaan met lastige klanten;
energetische belastbaarheid.

Share your song!

Hi everyone,

My artist name is Jotta. I make Dutch pop music with melodic influences from Portugal. My music often revolves around dreams, nostalgia, love and finding your own path in life.

I recently released a new single called “Architect”. Even though the song is in Dutch, it’s about something universal: the feeling of building your own life while trying not to lose yourself along the way.

Would love to share it with you guys and hear what you think !

I think my content is not helping my music career because it doesn’t feel like me

Hi everyone,

My artist name is Jotta. I make Dutch pop music with Portuguese influences. I write about love, letting go, wanting to feel like a kid again, and having the courage to choose your own path. My sound is melodic and at the same time accessible, and lately I’ve been trying to make my productions more unique by playing more guitar myself and also using Portuguese guitar elements in my music.

I’ve been making music for a very long time, and over the years I’ve built some connections in the Dutch music industry. Professionals around me genuinely believe the music is good, and for the last couple of years my productions have sounded fully professional because I work with a sound engineer.

But despite all that, I still only have around 20 monthly listeners on Spotify, and honestly I feel stuck when it comes to content and marketing.

I post on TikTok regularly, but the engagement is very low. I also notice that a lot of the content I make doesn’t really feel like me. It’s often singing along, dancing a bit, trying to fit into what works on TikTok… but that’s not really who I am. At the same time, I genuinely don’t know what I should be posting instead. Instagram is even harder for me because I don’t really know what kind of content belongs there anymore.

One thing I do know is the bigger message behind my music.

Ever since I was a kid (I’m 26 now), I’ve always been a dreamer. Completely unfiltered. I would dream about everything I could imagine. My biggest dream is to make music for a living, perform for huge crowds, and fully live from my art.

But my mission is bigger than just my own dream.

I want to inspire people to dream bigger in their own lives. I often say: “People don’t dream enough anymore.” And by dreaming big, I don’t just mean selling out arenas. It can also mean becoming a nurse, opening your own barber shop, getting your dream office job, literally anything, as long as it’s truly what you want.

I’m starting to think maybe that should become the center of my marketing and content. Maybe performances, visuals, lighting, storytelling… all built around that feeling of dreaming.

So I’d really love some honest advice from people here:

- What kind of content would actually fit an artist like this?

- How often should I realistically post?

- What works better on TikTok vs Instagram?

- And how do you create content that feels authentic instead of forced?

I’m happy to dm socials if someone would like to take a look at the content.

Thank you :)

Hi!

Just bought my first Fender ever! Really excited about the Birch Green color, I chose the Player II as I want to use it a lot on stage. I was told the Player II is very reliable on stage. I tried the Player II modified, but I didn’t like the sound and feel, the noiseless pickups take away the raw edge of the sound , making it a little too tight.

Can’t wait to put the hours in this baby!

Hi,

I’m a 26-year-old male and I’ve been dealing with some ongoing health issues that are starting to make me pretty anxious, especially about cancer. I was hoping to get some perspective.

For my bowels: I’ve always had a sensitive stomach, but since I was around 19 things changed more noticeably. Back then I had episodes of pencil-thin stools, cramps/spasms in the lower left side of my abdomen, diarrhea, and sometimes yellowish or floating stool.

Over the years that shifted into something more constant. My stool is now consistently brown, but every day it’s kind of mushy or sticky and not really well-formed. I also occasionally notice bright red blood, sometimes on the stool and sometimes just when wiping. Now I have an episode of constant diarrhea for a week (I also have GAD). I do workout a lot and live healthy.

I’ve had some tests done. Bloodwork a few years ago showed slightly elevated liver enzymes but nothing else (no anemia). I had a fecal calprotectin once at 90 and later at 10 (though that second sample might not have been perfect). I also had an abdominal ultrasound which didn’t show anything abnormal.

My GI doctor isn’t concerned and said that since this has been going on for 6–7 years without really progressing, it would be very unlikely to be something like colorectal cancer. She said I could do a colonoscopy if I want, but that it’s not necessary from her perspective.

Still, I can’t fully shake the fear that something might have been missed, like a polyp that’s been there for years.

The second issue is a hard lump above my collarbone (supraclavicular area) on the right side. I first noticed it about 4 years ago. It feels very hard and doesn’t move. It almost feels like there’s a hard “cord” under the collarbone, with a small round, hard ball toward the neck.

As far as I can tell it hasn’t really changed in size over those 4 years. I’ve had two ultrasounds done and both came back normal, but it still worries me because of how hard and fixed it feels. I was told it could be a cervical rib or a calcified node, but when looking up “supraclavicular” on google, the first thing that shows up is “likely cancer”.

I guess what’s making this harder is having both of these things at the same time, which makes my mind go to worst-case scenarios.

Does this overall picture sound concerning for something serious like cancer, or does the long-term stability and normal tests make that unlikely?

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this.
