Got a “london” 5 string fiddle. What strings do I buy for it?

Viola strings and violin E? Violin strings and viola C?!

Help me buy the right thing please!

Musician coming to Seoul. Should I bring my fiddle?

I’m a fairly high level pro fiddler. While I can read music, my specialty is fitting into almost any style of music the first time through a song without having heard it before. I’ve done everything from touring with a Weezer cover band as their pseudo lead guitar, to touring North America at festivals with a celtic act, to being a hired gun for a country tour.

My ask is this: what is the open mic/jamming scene like in Seoul? Would it be possible to show up, make friends and join others on stage? I don’t care the style…. I love celtic, bluegrass, folk, rock, country, blues, experimental…. you name it, I’m game.

Love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this type of scene. Does it exist, and is it welcoming to foreigners? I am working on speaking Korean as well. :-)

Thanks in advance!
