How do I even crochet with this yarn? It seems impossible

I'm trying to make a present for my niece and bought this yarn. It's my first time working with it and it's genuinely IMPOSSIBLE to crochet with, I cannot see a single stitch nor can i feel them. It's not like velvet yarn at all, you're going in completely blind!

RF 50mm F/1.8 for my new R6 Mark 2?

got myself an R6 Mark II recently, currently pairing it with my two L series EF 24-70mm f/2.4 and 17-40mm f/4 using an adapter. i'm currently thinking of getting a cheaper, but still reliable and trust RF lens just for now until i eventually upgrade the EF lenses to their RF counterparts.

would anyone recommend the 50mm prime? it would mostly be used to shoot portraits, family photos, possibly some event shoots like birthday parties or graduations etc. in all sort of lighting.

Upgrading from a 7D Mark II to a R6 Mark II - Yes or No?

After using the EOS 7D Mark II from literally release date back in 2014, is it finally time for me to upgrade to the R6 if my 7D is still working perfectly fine?

To my knowledge, the only cons of the 7D compared to the R6 that i can physically feel/see are that it's a little heavier and that my 7D is a crop sensor whilst the R6 is a full frame.

If it makes any difference, all of my current EF lenses are full frame L series lenses and i'll be using them with a EF to RF mount.

How much of a difference in image and shooting quality am I going to feel with this upgrade?

I found a really well taken care of R6 Mark II for $2000 AUD, so after selling my 7D Mark II for say $600 AUD at the minimum... I'm spending approx. $1400 AUD on the upgrade.

Is there any hope for me improving my VR scores with 40 days left? If yes, then how?

Hey guys, here are my scores from all of my Full Mocks and Subtest Mocks for VR. I've been doing practise on MedEntry if that accounts for anything when looking at my scores. Top number is my mark out of 900, percentage is the percentile I was placed in based on that mark and then my raw mark. Please note im also skipping/running out of time like crazy in these... on average I skip 3 entire stems (12 questions) but unfortunately I'm still not getting 100% accuracy on those remaining stems that I do manage to attempt.

when doing submocks on MedEntry and Medify, should I care more about the mark I get (___/900) or the percentile i get?

basically the title... which one actually matters more and reflects more closely to the real scores i'll get on the UCAT?

Amazon AU Refusing to refund me after sending me the incorrect item. What do I do?

Hey guys, just like the title says I ordered a camera off of Amazon AU (May 14th) and received the incorrect item (May 18th). On the same day that I received the item, I called them to let them know and sent them all the photos that they had asked for to show that it was in-fact not the item I ordered. For more context, I ordered the Canon EOS R6 Mark II and I received the EOS R6 not the EOS R6 Mark II.

I was told to process it as a return, select that it was the incorrect item and explain it in the comments so I did exactly that and dropped it off at the post office that same day (May 18th).

Then just yesterday 25/5/26 I received an email saying: "Our Returns department advised us that they received an incorrect item. We are discarding the INCORRECT ITEM that you sent. We will be happy to accept the return of the correct item by 06/18/2026. We cannot issue a refund for this order until we receive the correct item. Please return the correct item to us by 06/18/2026 if you would like a refund. Contact us if you believe that there has been an error with this action. To reach an Account Specialist, go to the appeal form"

So of course I went to the appeal form and explain that I received an incorrect item in the first place and I simply just sent back that incorrect item, I do not have the correct item. If I did, there would be no returning and I'd just keep it like???

After that appeal, I have now received a second email saying: "We cannot issue a refund for this order until we receive the correct item. Please return the correct item to us by if you would like a refund. We will have to re-charge you for your order if the items returned are not received at our returns center by. If you have no further feedback regarding your shopping experience, we can close this conversation and you can continue to shop as usual on Amazon.com.au. This decision is final. We will likely not respond to further emails about this issue."

Genuinely what do I do?? I did absolutely nothing wrong besides purchasing from Amazon in the first place. It wasn't bloody cheap either!

Looking for a new RF lens to replace my trusty EF.

Finally making an upgrade from my 7D Mark II to the R6 Mark II which also means being able to change from these (extremely) heavy EF lenses to light lighter RF lenses. This lens treated me so well and I'm looking to find something equivalent to it for my new camera. Open to lenses from any brand such as Canon, Sigma etc.

PREFERABLY a bit budget friendly as I save up more to get the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM Lens.

In terms of technicalities, I'm pretty much a newbie... I've had my 7D Mark II and lenses for about the last 10 years and haven't upgraded or used anything new at all. It's treated me well so there's never been a need to, but boy does it hurt the wrist.

I'll be using the camera as a one size fits all, just as I did for my 7Dii. Whether it be for taking landscape and nature photos to taking portraits and family photos, I'll be using this camera and new lens.

Other lenses in my kit:

EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM (used via adapter)
Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4 USD VC (used via adapter)
RF 50mm f/1.8 STM

Id really appreciate anyone's help!

RF 50mm f/1.8 STM or EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

Hey everyone, I just recently purchased an R6 Mark II and am looking for lenses to add to my rotation. which do you guys think will be better? I already have an adapter mount so that's no issue. I'm very behind with all my camera knowledge so any info at all is good info.

If anyone wanted to know the cost aspect of it, it's not too big of a difference:

RF is $200
EF is $150

2nd post - choosing between an R6 II and the R7

im a hobbyist photographer upgrading from my canon eos 7d mark 2. I currently own 3 lenses for the camera: canon ef 24-70 f/2.8 , canon ef 17-40 f/4 and tamron sp 70-300mm f/4-5.6

i love and adore my 7d but it's long overdue for an upgrade and i can no longer handle how insanely heavy the camera is during long shoots.

i want the camera to be as multipurpose as it can be. I want to be able to use it for family photos, group photos at parties and events, portraits of family members, couples, kids etc. whilst also being able to capture pictures of landscapes, animals, etc.

my options are:

r6 mark 2 with no lens ($2200 AUD)
r6 mark 2 with an RF 50mm f/1.8 lens ($2,500AUD)
r7 with a RFS18-150mm and RF 50mm f/1.8 lens ($2240 AUD)
r7 with no lens ($1800AUD)

what would you guys do if this was you and your money? I've been stuck on this decision for the last month and have only now come to reddit hoping for a hail mary.

Trouble deciding between Canon R62 or R7

Hobbyist photographer who's currently looking to upgrade from my 7D2. Coming from this "ancient" but nonetheless extremely reliable DSLR, I'm hoping for a much lighter camera (considering the 7D2 is almost 1kg for just the body) with obviously better performance considering this cameras now like 12 years old.

just the body for the R62 is around $2500AUD whilst the R7 is around $1800AUD. I've seen a lot of reviews saying they're pretty comparable but want to be sure before I pay or don't pay the extra $700AUD.

What would you guys recommend? Which is better for what purposes or is there one that is superior?
