How can I replace the glass lampshade on my lamp?

I purchased this lamp from Amazon a while ago. During a move, the glass half lampshade was shattered. Instead of throwing the whole lamp out, I'd like to purchase a replacement part to act as a new lampshade.

As you can see from the linked images, the glass lampshade is slightly tapered at the base and is secured by three screws holding it in place. The base of the lampshade measures 7.5" in diameter.

Any recs for a similar fixture that would fit inside this lamp?

Thanks!

How to buy a replacement blade?

I took apart the blade assembly from my Vitamix 5200 in order to wash it. Somehow, over the ensuing days, the blade has completely disappeared. I am resigned to the fact I will have to replace it. However, I'm seeing that it's extremely difficult to get replacement parts. What is the best way of going about this?

Steam valve knob sits too high in the circular cutout, scrapes wood shavings every time I use it

As you can see, my steam valve is seated slightly above center in the circular cutout where the knob fits. I have no idea how this happened. I have taken apart and put my machine back together before.

Both the original rubber knob, and now the wooden knob I’ve replaced it with, sit too high and scrape against the top of the cutout. What can I do to lower the position of the valve itself?

Can’t unscrew the steam valve nut. Please help!

I cannot for the life of me loosen the nut that connects the steam valve to the steam wand. I’m doing some deep cleaning on the machine. Help! How do I pry this thing loose? I don’t have access to a vice grip.

For my NYC peeps: one-woman show tackling ravages of eating disorder x compulsive exercise culture

Good morning fam:

I hope this isn't an unwelcome post. One of my best friends is in eating disorder treatment/recovery. She is an actress, and is debuting her one-woman show in NYC on July 7 and July 8. The show revolves around a spin instructor who has an eating disorder and how that plays out during one ill-fated spin class where all of her traumas boil over.

After the NYC premiere, the show is going to Edinburgh where it will make its international debut at the prestigious Fringe Festival.

I wanted to invite anyone in the NYC area on this sub to the NYC debut, as I think the show has a really incisive portrayal of what it's like to live with an eating disorder, at the intersection of domestic violence and compulsive exercise culture, that's not of the "after school special" variety. It's deranged, a bit unhinged, sardonic, and devastating all at the same time.

Here is a a link to the ticketing platform.

If you DM me I can also send you a custom discount code as well.

How much would it cost to buy acoustic window panels to dampen street noise?

I was thinking of installing acoustic window panels in my bedroom which faces the street, to help reduce noise from the street. However, I have no idea how much this might cost. I’m willing to spend a few hundred dollars. I have two windows each measuring 29.5” x 66.5”.

None of the sellers make their prices transparent online, so I’ve been having trouble finding a price range through google. Anyone with experience in this domain would be of help, thanks so much!

Edit: to clarify I’m talking about interior window inserts

Options for sound dampening and blackout coverings for my windows?

I just moved into a new apartment and my bedroom has recessed windows that are 29.5” W x 66.5” L. Photo of said windows attached here (this is the setup from the prior tenant).

What are my best options for installing coverings (curtains, blinds, or something else) that have blackout and sound dampening features?

Should I get curtains? Blinds? The main issue as you can sort of see is that the left-hand windows have a radiator sitting beneath them, so anything I install can’t extend too far beneath the window sill and touch the radiator.

Beyond that, I’m looking for advice about how best to approach this project. Thanks so much all! Specific brand recommendations would also be welcome.

Totally unfamiliar with this process and new to civil service. Is this something that would be signed in the next new months? This year?

How’s the area by the new Whole Foods noise-wise?

I’m moving by the new Whole Foods soon and am a pretty light sleeper (and I also work from home) so I’m concerned about excessive street noise (like people blasting music on the sidewalk). Does that tend to happen a lot, for anyone who lives in that area?
