Constipation in 2.5 kitten help overnight

Before I start, I would like to ask that those whom are unkind, please refrain from replying, your negativity is not needed in keeping this baby well, only your feedback on how to help.

I have a 2.5 week old kitten I’m bottle feeding. He came to me two days ago and wouldn’t take the bottle well and was very fuzzy. Took him in to medical at the shelter and they could not get him to eat either, nor poop. They could tell he was constipated and they did two enemas and although they could feel the poop, it was unable to come out.

The vet was so worried, she took him herself home as she didn’t want me to have a baby passing at my home and she was not sure if he would make it.

Great news this morning when she came back and said he had a rough night but he finally was able to poop and it was hard to do so and now he has watery poop (and that this was fine on a liquid diet), but was eating better so she said it’s ok to take home with me.

I took him home and the first feeding went well, he even had the wiggling ears and all. He was hungry again within 2 hours, as he had only drank 10ml (he did the same with the vet).

Now he won’t drink again and is fuzzy again. I can tell he’s hurting the same way.

I already sent a message to the foster coordinator I will bring him in first thing tomorrow morning to go to a more experienced foster/rescue that can specialize in constipated kittens as I know he won’t thrive with me and I want him to do well.

Question is, what do I do for now until morning time to help him feel more comfortable/eat/poop?

Anyone experienced with constipated kittens that can help? Unfortunately, our shelter doesn’t have staff after 6 to care for a kitten so I can’t bring him back and they don’t have a medical line for care after hours.

Thank you all for the help, and please kind words only, I’m trying my best and I’m already feeling horrible enough, don’t need more egging on in my despair.

Just got these fosters and found these worms…is this bad for my other fosters and resident cats?

Edit to add: although this looks like one tiny worm (which would make us think tapeworm) if you watch until the end, you can see the other end of this huge worm moving. It’s the same size as that other one that’s not moving on the side. It’s suuuuper long. My other cats had tapeworms from fleas but those were tiny, like the ones you see inside apples. These worms the fosters have are huuugeee I’ve never seen ones this long outside of the brown ones that live on dirt.

Original post:
For context. I’m a single mom. On a single mom budget, but have a big heart and want to do all I can to help during kitten season.

I have a litter of 5 that will be ready for adoption in a few days, and two 1.5 years old resident cats. And a 6 year old dog.

I just got three new kittens that I’m keeping separate, and I knew they were coming with diarrhea but then one went #2 and my daughter and I saw this.

I am freaking out. I can’t afford my resident cats or child to get sick or get worms.

The medicine they gave me I don’t think it’s for this. It’s called Alvin 50mg/ml and a hydration supplement.

Is this something that’s going to be problematic? I don’t have a washer machine as I live in an apartment and having to disinfect everything constantly is too much for my current state of mind. Should I return them to go to a better Forster with more resources or am I freaking out for nothing and it should be okay?

AI spit out that I could even be carrying their eggs in my socks and taking them around the house and now I’m really freaking out.

Please help this new foster parent out with some of your experience! Thank you!

42F and going through an existential crisis…what do I do?

I left my husband 3.5 years ago. He was a covert narcissist that continues to be the only pain in my neck (we have a child together so can’t get rid of him completely out of my life for another 10 years)

Problem is, in the last 3.5 years I have processed the fact that I was married to a narcissist for 10 years, have been battling my perimenopause with HRT, processed the fact that I am a single mom despite this having been my worst nightmare when I was a child, process that horrible childhood too…and now I feel empty.

I’m a psychotherapist and thats my passion and calling…yet I am burned out and don’t even want to do that right now.

Those whom have gone through identity crisis, what helped? After being in relationships and friendships where I just agreed to everything just to keep the peace, I have found I don’t know who I am.

I see so many people having hobbies and “lives” etc and I feel I don’t do anything but take care of my clients, my cats, my kid and my dog. Rinse and repeat next day.

Ps; for context I’m also neurodivergent (ADHD) and have one friend I still see a few times a year. Everyone else dissolved away while I was married so I want to build a new circle this year
And yes I’m under the care of a therapist and psychiatrist

🐱 Bonded Sisters Kitten Pair Looking for Their Forever Home! 🐱- Los Angeles, CA

Honeydew and Gingerbread are two adorable, playful, and affectionate kittens looking for a family to adopt them together. They’ve grown up side by side and are a bonded pair, so I’d love to see them stay together.

They are playful, affectionate, curious, and full of personality. They love to wrestle, cuddle, chase each other, and then curl up together for naps. Watching them interact is guaranteed to make you smile.

They’re being fostered from the city shelter, so the adoption will go through the shelter’s application process and foster and adoptive parents must arrange a mutual time to transfer ownership.

If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please send me a message or share this post. Let’s help these two best friends find their forever home together! ❤️🐾

Adoptive parents backed out day before taking fosters

I am fostering two sisters from the city shelter, and I was supposed to bring them tomorrow back to the shelter and someone had expressed interest in adopting them together so we had arranged a time to bring them so they could take them.

Today I got a message that the lady’s partner is not ready to adopt yet, so they backed out.

This is my first time fostering and I really wanted the sisters to go together as they seem to be bonded. I know if I take them back to the shelter, they will likely be adopted separately as rarely people take two kittens at a time at our city shelter, but I feel its late now to find another family to take them together.

How do you all manage the grief of knowing kittens that are bonded will likely be separated once adopted? Like I said, this is my first time fostering and I’m sad about it. Maybe I was too idealistic or maybe I should have had a back up plan instead of trusting that couple would take them together blindly, but I’m having a a hard time thinking about them being separated.

How to find adopters?

I have two sisters that I’m currently Fostering for the city’s shelter. I have until 7/31 with them and then they will go back to the shelter to get spayed and placed for adoption.

I want to find a good home for them where they can go together vs having them go back to the shelter where they will likely be adopted separately.

How do you all get your fosters advertised to find good adoptive parents for them? Are there good sites/apps you can recommend I can use that has good potential parents? (Vs Craigslist which I’m sure is very sketch)

I would like to find them some parents before 7/31 so they can go to a home together after being fixed.

For context, I live in the suburbs of Los Angeles if that helps.

How long for pain to go away with GLP?

I have been on compound tirzepatide (my insurance won’t cover it) for two months now to help me with my lipedema symptoms, primarily the inflammation.

The only problem is that i continue to have a lot of pain on the “bulge” on the side of my thighs still, and sometimes in other places. At least the feeling of having elephant legs has diminished so i still call this a win.

Did anyone else get the same experience? How long did it take for the pain to go away or has it not gone away or I can expect some pain still? Any other treatments that helped in conjunction with the GLP to help with pain specifically?

Before and after inspo needed

I just did a DEXA scan that show I am in the 12th percentile muscle category compared to other women my age, which is really sad, but not unheard of for the state of my body, so it did not take me fully by surprise.

I tried to look online, but everything seemed to be either filtered or AI, so I’m looking to see if maybe some of your ladies would be willing to share your before and after even if it’s literally just a couple months after and a little bit of progress is showing in muscle recomposition.

I see could probably guess, at 12 percentile, my muscles are not existence, and I am literally all watery, which has gotten worse with me entering perimenopause and it’s really starting to mess with my head. I want to be healthy and I want to stop being sick so that I can have many years with my child.

My goal is to do as much muscle growing as I can, while I try to eat as much as I can with my low appetite now in GLP. My goal is not ready to be showing muscles, although that would be great, but to have a more positive. DEXA scan in a few months that is showing that there is muscle growth.

Have you ladies been able to gain muscle when you had zero muscle before, while on GLP? I am currently on tirzepatide compound 7.5 and I am almost at my goal weight so I should tritrate down in the next few months.

Ps: in regards to HRT, I am currently on estrogen patch, progesterone, and testosterone and i am 42 years old endometriosis warrior. I am seeing a endocrinologist soon as I believe the way that it’s interacting to my body. It’s not as efficient as I feel it should be so I’m hoping to get some answers from them soon.

Why does she suckle on the clothes?

I just became a foster mama for the first time to two little kittens. At first they told me they were 3 weeks, and then they told me they were 5 weeks.

They love being held in this jacket, but they keep suckling on it like in the video.

What does this mean? Does it mean I should give them some bottled milk? Do they want to suckle like on a breast or they just like how it feels on their mouths?

I have never seen this so have no idea what to do. Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks

Edit: video in the comments, I couldn’t upload it to the original post somehow

Warm Arrival: Need Replacement - Lavender Sky Order

TLDR: anyone get a replacement for a warm order received from Lavender Sky Health and how did you do it?

This is my first time ordering LSH and I chose Apothecary because I heard great things about their efficacy.

I just received my first shipment from New Life Rx, and the package arrived warm. It had three viles in it as I ordered for 3-4 months from them. It was 84 degrees today so in warehouses and delivery trucks it must have been much hotter than that.

I am very concerned about the efficacy of the medication. I previously ordered from Red Rock and their packaging was very cold and ice packs still very frozen. This LSH order was warm and the viles were inside pharmacy style containers which definitely keep the viles from the coldness of the mere ice pack they placed with the order.

LSH replied saying it can withstand 104 degrees and to just take it or contact the pharmacy directly.

These meds are not cheap to this single mom that needs them for medical reasons, and I really dislike that I paid LSH for a service and they’re asking ME to contact the pharmacy when I have a purchase contact with them not the pharmacy so it’s their responsibility for me to get the product I ordered in good standing.

Anyone get a replacement ever with them? How did you manage to get one?

Started tirz during a flare up

I took my first shot 3 days ago and my legs were in horrible pain from a flare up. I’m in perimenopause so these are happening more often and more painful lately.

The first 24 hours I had bad muscle pain like I had worked out or kind of like Covid body pain all over including my back.

I have not had any quiet down on food noise nor relief/lower inflammation like many have stated happened almost immediately.

I’m on 2.5mg but my BMI is on the lower end so I don’t think they will raise it much since I just want inflammation to go away so the pain gets better.

Anyone start tirzepatide while having a pain flare up? How long until some relief happened?

I have been looking through all of the posts and most spaces seem to be very minimalistic, and I am wondering if there are any neurodivergent females that can share what their spaces look like when you identify more with the Little Mermaid’s collection than minimalism.

I’d love to see how you all organize/decorate/created your living spaces when impulse shopping is your daily hobby.
