It was four months ago today that my cracked hinge finally broke,...and my Flippe Boy is still going strong!
Just felt like sharing, lol.
Just felt like sharing, lol.
This beautiful device has been my go to Mario Wonder device. Be awesome if they made a Mini V3 that was smaller and 16:9!
So, I've got several (physical) control profiles for GameCube on Dolphin 2603 on my Anbernic Rotate, and they are assigned to each game just nicely.
However, I noticed that when I added an overlay (touch control) button in one game, it remains for all games. Is this normal, or is there a way to have it only show up in the game I want to use it!
,...and forty-five years later and I still suck at this game, lol.
Rogue Leader on GameCube
Most of the game is rather slow, but if you just want to blow up the Death Star, the first level runs pretty well,...after the shaders are done compiling that is.
Rogue Leader for GameCube.
I've got the USA rom in my Mini, but after seeing the PAL version run decent in my Rotate, I deleted it, and tried the PAL in my Mini.
It won't even open. I'm using the exact same Dolphin 2603 in both devices, both set to Vulkan.
I have since reinstalled the USA rom in my Mini, and it works,...but what was up with that PAL one?
So, I recently got the PAL version of Rogue Leader for GameCube for my Anbernic Rotate. It runs better on that device than expected, so I thought it might run better than the USA version I have on my Mini, so I deleted that one, and put in this PAL one.
Thing is, the game won't open. It just flickers then goes back to the emulator menu. Both devices are using the same version of Dolphin, both set to Vulkan.
Any ideas?
This seems to be the only game I have where its not more trouble than its worth, lol.
I think Mario Galaxy 2 here runs a bit better than Mario Galaxy 1.
Its just a lot of fun playing this thing closed,...and you can't do that, on a closed clamshell.
When I added the artwork to Asteroids Deluxe, the game slowed down significantly (but speeds back up if I remove it). This happened in both current Mame in RetroArch 1.22 and Mame4droid 286.
Firefox also has very slow audio.
I bought this device for GameCube not Arcade, so its not that big a deal, but still seems odd that this chip struggles with Mame,...?
When adventure games turn into fighting games, i.e. Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
I've been playing this game for the better part of a year on my Retroid Flip2 (its been that long 'cause it crashes often, causing me to wait for a better emulator/driver to try).
I recently found a couple Eden Nightly emulators that (switching back and forth after crashes) has allowed me (in just a few days) to go from being trapped in the third world, to being in the seventh (and hopefully final) one.
Problem is, starting about four levels into the sixth world (Mordor on a good day) all I've been doing is fighting bosses.
Then I finally defeated the king (again) and think its finally over, but no, a giant lion appears. I defeat him, and then a mutant lion appears. I defeat him, and now its a giant bird!
Will this fucking boss fighting ever fucking end!!!! Seriously, these boss fights have sucked all the fun out of what was a pretty cool adventure game!
Anyway,..gotta wait 'til my flippe boy charges up before I can go at this again (most likely having start with that fucking lion AGAIN). If I can muster the desire that is.
I can now hit "reverse" in Stargate/Defender without also pushing L1 which,...adds more coins, making a noise every time.
Super easy too. Took like five minutes.
Incidentally (unlike my Powkiddy A66) the wrench is nothing special, or unique. Its just a basic Allen-Head, you can find at Walmart. In fact I already had one in my guitar case.
Whack him repeatedly in the groin with an oversized mallet? Ouch!
😯
I use the shoulders and triggers a lot, yet haven't really felt a great need to change them,..and I thought I would.
Put a piece of duct tape over my broken hinge and now there's just enough resistance to hold my floppy lid in place at a pretty playable angle.
Spyro A Hero's Tail - Dolphin 2603
First go into the game options and switch the camera from passive to active. This will eliminate the need for the right/c stick.
Map the left stick to tne d-pad.
Map the d-pad functions (toggling between Spyro's different breaths) to the shoulder buttons.
Now, some buttons will have dual function. Tapping L2 will toggle his lightning breath. Holding L2 will activate his wing shield. Tapping the R1 will toggle his ice breath. Holding R1 will open the map.
So far all the functions of this game seem to run just fine, and the game is very playable (even with the Rotate's crappy d-pad).
FYI: This is the USA rom which runs a bit slow. The PAL rom runs much better (especially in PS2) but I needed to transfer a save from my RP Mini to demonstrate all of Spyro's different breaths, and saves are regent dependent, so my USA save would not work with the PAL rom.
Anyway, to the naysayers,...
EatMe
This is on the stock Aether, default settings, and its not even a PAL rom, yet it runs silky smooth.
Other devices are Anbernic Nano, Sony Walkman, GBA Micro.
,...this being Memorial Day weekend, its not gonna move once it lands until at least Tuesday, lol.
,...but we're making progress!
Wasn't sure this emulator would work, what with the Android 10 limits and all, but hey,...Simpsons Road Rage runs really well! Audio is all garbled, but the gameplay is seriously fast. Think it might be faster than the GameCube/PS2 version.
