Just a single Angelfish?
Can Angelfish be kept as a single individual? In a community tank with other fish? My tank is 85 gallon, with Congo Tetras, Lemon Tetra, Corydoras and a single Apistogramma Cacatuoides male.

Can Angelfish be kept as a single individual? In a community tank with other fish? My tank is 85 gallon, with Congo Tetras, Lemon Tetra, Corydoras and a single Apistogramma Cacatuoides male.
So I had this discussion with this employee of the fish store about keeping just a single male Apistogramma (Cacatuoides) or a single male Goldeneye Dwarf Cyclid. Mainly because I want to avoid breeding agression in my community tank.
He told me it was a bad idea, because in the end a lone cyclid wil get depressed. I never heard that before, what do you guys think?
What would be the best Bolivian Ram group size? I have a new 80 gallon (300 liters tank), sandy substrate and no fish yet. It will be a community tank. Does anyone have experiences with groups? Or should I just get 2?
So I have only had a dark substrate (aquasoil) in my first and only tank. Now I have a second tank with pretty light sand (no fish yet). I have heard that the colors of most fish are not as bright with a light substrate. Does anyone have experience with this?
So for my new community tank I would like to have a single male Goldeneye Dwarf Cyclid. The other fish will be a group of Bolivian Rams (5-6), Lemon Tetra, Pearl Gourami and Congo Tetra. The tank is 80 gallon (300 liters), 5 feet wide (150cm), sandy substrate and well planted. Could the Goldeneye male fit in? Especially with the Bolivian Rams? And would a single male be better for less agression?
So my new tank is 300 liters (80 gallon) and 150cm (5feet) long. Its well planted and needs about 2 weeks more to add fish, my current idea is the following stocking:
- 3 Pearl Gourami (1 male/2 female)
- 15-20 Lemon Tetra
- 5-6 Bolivian Rams
- 6 Ottocinclus
- 8 Congo Tetra
- Amano shrimp and Nerite snails
Maybe a female Betta
I need some honest feedback, would this work?
I'm thinking about getting Bolivian Rams for my new tank (300 liters / 80 gallon). Probably 2-4. I also want to add a pair of Nanochromis Transvestitus or Apistogramma Cacatuoides. Would this work? And would there be any agression?
I have been using Esha Exit for 3 days and and I'm now on the 6th day, but my Cardinaltetras still have white spots. How fast do they get better? And when do the white spots go away?
Does any have any experience with nanochromis transvestitus? How are they compared to Kribensis? And how is the agression level? And can I keep them with Corydoras?
So I have an Apistogramma Baenschi female in a 240 liters (63 gallon) community tank. Her tankmates are Endler Guppy (all male), Cardinaltetras, Threadfin Rainbowfish, Dwarf Chain Loaches, Honeygourami and another Apistogramma Agassizii female.
The Baenschi female is pretty territorial against the Honeygourami, where she nips at them and chases them away for 2/3 seconds. The Honeygourami have no damage and sometimes don't even seem that impressed (they just stand there ground when the Baenschi nips at them). She also sometimes lunges at the Endlers or other fish, also with no real damage. The other Apistogramma Agassizii female is dominant over the Baenschi female, and chases her away when she comes close (also no real damage).
To what point is this acceptable? There is no real damage to other fish at the moment and the don't seem that stressed, but the Baenschi is still relatively young. So when is agression to much?
