In Sri Lankan school rugby, how come there are so many M_slim players? Asking from a talent perspective only.

Nothing against the over representation. I am asking totally from a merit perspective.

In teams like Trinity, Peters, Wesley and Pathana, there are so many M_slim players and they are talented as well. For example, you will often hear names from players like Zumri from Pathana, Althaf from trinity during matches.

Whats the reason behind this overrepresentation? and how is the culture promoting this?

When I was a kid, a friend told me m_slim people eat beef a lot, hence they have better fitness 😅. Is there a truth in this as well?

Eating rice and curry from a restaurant 5 days a week at work - how bad is it?

I’m working and for lunch I eat rice and curry from the nearby restaurant. But its a relatively small place and the food is very similar to a homemade one compared to a rice and curry from a place like Ricorn. I always avoid eating fried rice and kottu or parata etc.

But still how bad is it for the health in the long term?

If a team has a huge lead with victory is inevitable, but the opposite team narrows it in the last 5-10 minutes,do coaches take it very seriously?

I mean a team gets a huge lead and the win is inevitable, so they sub many of their players after that huge lead and bring their bench. But in the last few minutes the opposite team gives 101% and narrow the gap.

In a situation like that, would the winning side’s coach brush it off as “oh its the bench - I did some wholesale changes…so nothing serious”, or like “ the losing team was playing for the losing bonus point..nothing to worry” or dismiss as “just turned off in the last few minutes, thats fine, we got the 80% right”

For example, in the canes vs blues match today, the hurricanes had a 33-7 gap, but later it ended as 47-26. But seems that could’ve ended as 40-33 also because the blues upped their intensity.

Another example is Eng vs Italy in 2024 with the score was like 24-21,where ENG was on front foot with 24-7 for like 70 minutes but italy closed it to 24-21. Based on the score, the match seems tight, but doesn’t reflect how good was ENG for 70 minutes. So again, would a coach slightly dismiss the narrowing of the scores?

Hope my question is clear.

What would India’s response be to Sri Lanka’s 2022 economic collapse if it was a congress government with Tamil Nadu having more influence on them

As far as I know, PM Modi operates with the SAGAR, First responder and net security provider for the region. Under that they extended humanitarian help with oil (where the EAM also visited people in oil queues) and currency swap for Sri Lanka which essentially prevented us from becoming a failed state.

But what would the approach be if it was under a congress government with Tamil Nadu having major influence on them?

Because due to the civil war and ethnic riots in SL, TN doesn’t view SL in a favorable way.

So based on that what would the response be? Will be a smaller response? Or more of a transactional offer where India helps us in exchange for maybe autonomous region in north sri lanka etc?

Hope this is related here because I am discussing them through foreign policy doctrine perspective rather than a political perspective.

It’s called Nasi Campur and looks more similar to our fried rice but with normal rice.

Since many Sri Lankans go to Malaysia for studies, based on your experience, Is it tastier than ours’ or not? And What are the differences?

Is it possible to make butter chicken with coconut milk instead of cream?

Is the mix of butter and coconut milk going to cause in trouble or food poisoning?

We use coconut milk for the typical chicken curry but thats without butter.

FYI I’m Sri Lankan and want to see if this adaptation would work since cream is a but expensive and the leftover cream gets wasted since I don’t know anything else to make with it

Edit: by cream I meant milk cream or double cream

Crispy chicken recipe I discovered from this very sub (amounts for 3-4 chicken thighs w/o skin)

- Marinate with 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper and little bit of lime if you like

- The coating is 1/3 cup flour, 1/2 tsp of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt each and then 1/4 tsp of oregano, thyme/italian herb mix, mustard powder, baking powder.

- 1 egg and 1 tbsp of whole milk mixed

- you know drill - Chicken in egg and then the coating. Air fry for 24 minutes at 180C or 190C

Baguette pizza

- Garlic powder and butter mixed and spread on the bread - air fry for 1 minute or less at 190C (doing this because the YT recipies I watched said this will make the bread waterproof from tomato)

- Then tomato puree with oregano, cheese, meat, jalapenos and whatever

- Fry for 5-8 minutes at 190C

If there are suggestions for improvements, please let me know 🙏

Edit: for the bread base, its butter and garlic powder. Not garlic powder and parsley.

In western countries we can promote food and cultural events. Have also seen even the Chinese poeple go “😱” when they brides in sarees. But what about in culturally rich countries like India?

Also nice to see that even the manual laborers were also given refreshments at the dansal.

Official tweet is

“To mark the blessed occasion of #BuddhaPurnima, the Consulate General hosted a ‘dansela’ serving free beverages—offering a moment of cool relief to passers-by in the sweltering #Mumbai summer, & adding a touch of authentic #SriLankan culture to the bustling city. #DiplomacyLk🇱🇰🇮🇳”

FYI I am a Sri Lankan and got to know about that channel because one of our top geopolitical analyst featured in 3 or 4 discussions (where even the Indian viewers commented he is good and should be in more talks) and also has Nithin Gokhale where attended some of his discussions he did in Sri Lanka.

I would like to know how is that channel perceived in India. Overall are they fact based and scratches beyond surface rather than sensationalist talks?
