I spent over 20 years running hotels. Ask me what hotel staff REALLY think about the things guests do. AMA.
After more than two decades in hotel management, there isn’t much I haven’t seen.
Lovely guests. Difficult guests. Very strange requests. Completely justified complaints. Completely ridiculous complaints. People trying their luck for an upgrade. And, of course, the occasional situation where everything is going spectacularly wrong behind the scenes while the team are smiling at you like everything is absolutely grand. 😂
Hotels are fascinating places when you know what happens on the other side of the reception desk.
So ask me anything.
Should you complain if your room isn’t right?
Does being nice actually help you get an upgrade?
What drives reception staff mad?
Do hotels really keep notes about guests?
What’s happening behind the scenes that guests never know about?
Or tell me something you always do when staying in a hotel and I’ll tell you what the staff probably think about it.
I promise to be nice.
Mostly. 😂
AMA.
