Cheapest way to get the Level 1 qualification?

I'm in the process of getting my cscs green card and I was pretty easily able to find the CITB test and app to prepare for it, however the Level 1 qualification / alternatives really confuse me because there are so many different centres doing it and they all cost £100+.

I have now seen that CITB themselves do the alternative health & safety awareness course for £99, which is the most trustworthy option but quite costly.

Are there any other courses, preferably online, that are legit and will allow me to get the qualification for less than £99, or are they all around that same price? Afaik there isn't a free way to get it either?

This would make £23.50 + £99 + £36 = £158.50 for the total cost of getting a green card.

Was that the total for everyone else, in which case I am fine paying for, or am i missing something?

Thanks

Best USB A to C cable for charging an iPhone 17?

I'll be using the cable with a USB-A charging brick on which it says it can go from 5-33W, as well as our car's USB-A charging port.

I have an iPhone 17 and I've looked on the apple store but they don't seem to do USB A to C cables anymore, so I've looked at anker, beats and belkin and all of them range from 15-18w.

I'm aware that being limited to USB-A on one side means I very likely can't get much faster speeds (do correct me if I'm wrong on that), but I stumbled on a Xiaomi cable that supposedly does 6A and if I calculated correctly that would go to 30W, which is at least a bit faster? Even then, though, I'm not sure if it'll reach 30W with the iPhone/charging brick, or only with Xiaomi's own devices.

Is there any better/faster USB-A to USB-C cable on the market than 15-18w (compatible with the iPhone 17), or are those the best I can get?

Is this butter squishy real?

I ordered this from the Menkind website in the UK for £11.

I thought that KTL is the authentic brand and that the box should be original, but what worries me is the squishy smells like nail polish remover (or that chemical smell that the fakes have), and there is a hole on the side that I’m guessing it was filled through, but it looks badly glued and low quality.

Did I get a fake?

Finished second year and worried about my future

Just a heads up before I go into this - I’m a student from the UK, so I’m not exactly sure how the grades I mention convert into the GPA system. I originally attempted to post this on r/UniUK but it kept getting auto flagged as spam, so I’m going to try and get advice about my situation on here.

I’ve finished my second year studying computer science and ai, but I think I have put myself in a bad position for the future because I’ve barely taken the effort to actually learn something and go to lectures, nor have I done anything extracurricular like applying for internships.

I didn’t take first year seriously, barely went to any lectures at all and ended up with an average of 65%, even failing one module but I was still allowed to move onto second year.

This year was a bit better as I averaged 67% in first semester and am yet to receive results for the second, but it’s looking okay and I don’t think I failed anything unless something turns out seriously wrong.

However, I still didn’t really attend all the lectures after about the first 2-3 weeks and slacked off once again. At the end of both semesters I just ended up watching back some of the lectures (or sometimes none at all) and cramming most of the content on the final week or two when all the courseworks and exams were due, so I feel like I know nothing apart from the very specific questions that were on the courseworks, and I still don’t really have a general understanding of concepts apart from the surface-level things that I crammed.

I did some maths (first year makes up 10%, second 30% and third 60%), and assuming that I got around 60% this year, then if I want to graduate with a 2:1 (60-69% overall) I will need around 70% in the upcoming third year, or if I want just about a first (70%+) I need over 75% which is quite unlikely.
Even in that case, the failed year 1 module will appear on my final transcript and that worries me a bit, I’m hoping employers won’t ask for it.

Ideally I want to do a year in industry before moving onto third year, but I can only do that once I find a placement and I have not applied for anything yet.

I’m in this cycle where I want to apply to placements and internships but instead I keep putting it off because I feel like I don’t know enough from not going to lectures, plus I haven’t done any projects or real experience with programming/coding (the only thing I have done is coursework, which was part of my modules and most of the complicated code was provided to us in templates and examples), and the only work experience I have done was a 2-week thing in 2024, where except from talking to different people from the company and meeting the CEO I didn’t actually do much and I have nothing remotely technical or quantitative to say, which I know is what employers want on a CV. I also volunteered at a food bank in 2025 but it was literally for one day and I didn’t go again.

All of these things make me think I won’t be a strong candidate compared to others on my course, who have decorated their LinkedIns and CVs with internships and projects, while I’ve just been focusing on getting a 2:1 grade. I wish I’d taken first year more seriously and started applying to things earlier.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation before, and still managed to get into a placement or graduate job? Is it too late to start applying now and if I do, will I have a real chance of being accepted?

My family don’t really know my situation but they’ve been telling me to finish third year now instead so I can graduate and find a job after with a completed degree, but I think it is more valuable to try and get experience now.
They have also been suggesting I look into IT companies that some older family friends work in, but I’m hesitant to apply because I don’t think I have the experience and skills they look for.

What should I do now so I can save my career in the future?

Good build quality budget mouse?

Last year I bought a VXE R1 Pro Max for around £50 after seeing many people praise it as the best value budget mouse. For reference I used to have a (massive and heavy) razer deathadder elite from 2019 up until last year when it started double clicking and disintegrating.

The R1 Pro Max is lighter and the battery lasts ages before it needs to charge, but I have noticed that the material feel of it is like cheap plastic and it has also gotten a small crack under the side buttons from me squeezing it too tight with my thumb at one point.

Could anyone suggest a mouse that is under £100/$100 and has very good build quality and feel to it? Good clicking/switches would be a good bonus too, I thought the old razer deathadder was good clicking-wise.

I have average sized hands about 19cm from middle finger to wrist, 8.5cm wide, and use a fingertip grip (somewhere in the middle between claw and palm?).

Also do let me know if I am asking for too much for a budget mouse, I am debating on just getting a razer again for the quality.

I've seen a couple of posts similar to this but they haven't been the ones I was looking for.

I must've seen this movie somewhere around 2020-2025 and I think it was recent so probably not anything before 2010.

It involved a man who had been set up by his lover/wife to die, but survived and seeks revenge. Pretty common theme but something distinct that I remember was he goes back to her house, sneaks in and finds her sleeping there. He brings a gun, gets ready to shoot her and get his revenge, but can't get himself to do it and leaves.

The movie carries on and I guess he proceeds to get revenge after that? I'm not sure, all I remember is that scene where he intends to kill her in her sleep but doesn't end up doing it.

The roles could've well been reversed since I don't really remember a lot except for the sleeping scene but I think the main character was a man set up by his ex lover or wife.
