For those whose babies woke up hourly or more frequently at night - did it get better after they dropped to a one nap schedule? When did you move your baby to one nap?

Hi all

Trying to understand if the hourly wakes which started at 3m and is continuing now at 11m will get better once I drop to 1 nap? I feel like my bub may be getting close to it. Stretching his wake windows to 5-5.5h.

Want to know when you dropped to one nap and if that helped with night sleep.

Could someone tell me the name of this actor?

Hi all

I’ve been watching this serial on YouTube called ‘Bhai’. Really liked Nauman in Jackson Heights and searched for other serials of his. Searched on ChatGPT / Claude and couldn’t find the answer.
The character name is Ibad - Saira’s love interest in the serial ‘Bhai’

Could someone please share his name and help your neighbour :)

When did hourly overnight feeds stop for infants with strong breast to sleep association

Hi all - my bub, now almost 9 months old, has been feeding hourly or more frequently in the second half of the night for 6 months now. Started at the 3m mark when the 4th month regression hit us. He actually gave up 3h/4h even 6h stretches before 3m of age. Never after. Always hourly or less.

He has a very strong breast to sleep association which I don’t want to break as it’s helpful in putting him down for naps and overnight. I’m also very used to the hourly wake ups now and I’m able to manage my sleep around it. I live in India so I have enough domestic help + a nanny to do chores + baby related operational work. Basically, I’m ok with the current situation but would really like longer stretches of sleep in the near future.

My sense was babies who have such extremely light sleep / need a lot of help in connecting sleep cycles tend to start longer stretches around 9m. It’s not happened in my case. When can I expect 3-4h long stretches? Or even 2h stretches?

When did daytime naps extend beyond 30 mins (unassisted)?

Moms who saw flat 30 min daytime naps for a long time (unless rescued through feeding, patting etc) - when did your LO finally start napping for 60 mins or longer?
My bub started waking up 30 min into his nap at 3m and is now 8m+. Still opens his eyes at the 30 min mark (and doesn’t extend his nap unless assisted).

Trying to understand when can I expect it to get better.

Edit: I’m already on 2 naps per day. He tends to extend his first nap if I start patting him around the 25th minute mark or I feed him around the same time. Otherwise he will wake up in 30 mins
And by assistance I only mean assistance in extending the nap. I always put him down for his nap by feeding / rocking and don’t mind that. I just after sleeping he went on for 60 mins instead of 30 mins without needing a feed or pats.

Moms of bad sleepers - when did ur LOs start napping for longer than an hour predictably?

Moms (esp of bad sleepers)- when did ur LOs start napping for longer than 30-40 mins during the day?

Looking to understand how much more do I need to wait for my LOs daytime naps to get better.

His naps became 30 mins long exactly at 3 months and continue to be so at 7.5 months.

How much more do I need to wait before it naturally extends to 1-1.5 hrs predictably? (I’ve rescued naps by feeding at 30 mins and he’s gone till 1.5 hours on some rare days and once or twice he’s done a long nap himself)

Plz share ur experiences- particularly moms who have babies who don’t sleep well.

Edit: I dropped him to 2 naps about two weeks ago. No improvement still. Wake windows have extended but naps remain 30 mins exact.

Thanks!

Calling out parents of the worst sleepers! When did it get better?

My bub who is 7 months and 4 days old today has been waking up every 40-60 mins at night since he was 3 months old. His day naps are capped at 30 mins too unless I feed him at 30 mins. He’s EBF and started some solids (barely any). He’s on the lower side on weight too - 6.5 kgs. We have co-slept always.
I’ve tried everything under the sun - the right wake windows, maintaining a schedule / rhythm of the day, great nighttime routine - everything everything!

I’ve posted about this before. But right now, I just want to know from parents who went through a similar phase - when did it get better for you? How did the transition look like?
Anything wacky / weird (not mentioned in any sleep advice online) that worked for you?

I just want to be mentally prepared for the right thing.

PS: he’s the calmest and happiest baby I’ve seen in my life. Just needs a lot of help in sleeping.
Edit: What I meant when I wrote naps are capped at 30 mins was -> he’s unable to go beyond a 30 mins nap unless I rescue by feeding at 30 mins exactly

Has anyone ever researched on false starts? When on earth will they end?

My bub is 7 months old and has been waking up hourly (first half of the night) and half hourly (second half of the night) for 4 months now. Basically, it started after he turned 3 months old (the 4th month sleep regression) and never ended.
We co-sleep and I don’t intend to sleep train. I’m planning to ride this wave (mentally prepared for meaningful changes to happen at 12-14 months). On very very very few occasions - he has given me a 2 hour stretch - even 2h 40 min once. But all these stretches are not the first stretches. Usually second (after a false start) or sometimes third (after a false start and an hour)

I’m curious - why do these 30-40 min false starts happen? And till when will they last?

When do false starts and hourly wakes end on their own?

Hi all

I’ve been feeding my baby hourly for 3+ months now. He’s 6 months and 1 week old - his sleep regression started at 3 months and now he has a very strong breast to sleep association. I feed him hourly at night and he has a ~40 min false start at the start of his sleep at night everyday.
He’s EBF and we co-sleep.

Over the last 3-4 days - he’s started to give me one 1h 50 min stretch immediately after his false start. There was also one night about 3 days ago where he gave me three 1h 50min stretches. Didn’t happen after that. I want to understand from those who never sleep trained and always fed to sleep (mine is an EBF baby who just started solids so those calories don’t really count) - when does it get better naturally?

Also, when does the false start begin to fade off?

I had lost 16.5 kgs before I got pregnant due to consistent IF. My body was taking it very well and I felt amazing in my body. I’m not 6 months postpartum and back to the weight I was at before IF. I want to go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Anyone here who did IF while breastfeeding? My supply is clearly established and my baby has been exclusively breastfed for 6 months now. I feel now is the time to start IF. I also want to breastfeed till as long as possible (atleast 2 years). Any tips or tricks for someone who managed this? Thanks!

My almost 6 month old has now been feeding every 30-60 mins for almost 3 months. It started with his sleep regression and it’s only getting worse. We tried gentle sleep training on him for 5 nights and nothing improved and I think it backfired. His wake ups are now every 20-30 mins. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to sleep train anymore. I’m so tired that I don’t have the energy to rock or pat or shush him at night. Easiest is to feed in side lying and he also immediately goes to sleep with it. His shut eye time is almost 12 hours each night. Doesn’t open his eyes - stirs, fusses, feeds n sleeps.

Please tell me it’ll get better and please tell me when will it get better.

Hi all

My 5.5 mo (EBF, no bottle) has been waking up every hour for almost 10 weeks now.

His wake windows are 1.5/2/2/2.5 (we aim for this). Multiple times he naps for long hours (4 hours multiple times and 5.5 h once) - with feeds in between - and those days he usually only has 2 naps. His naps are usually 30-40 mins.

We co-sleep (I’m in India and it’s very common here). I feed him in sidelying position. We thought he has a strong breast to sleep association and hence needs breast every hour. We tried to gently sleep train him to go atleast 3 hours between feeds at night. My husband would soothe him when he would wake up before the designated 3 hours. Did it for 5 nights and nothing improved. He was definitely able to go 3-4 hours without feed but his wake ups never reduced in these 5 nights. Infact they increased. We got tired of not seeing any results and stopped the sleep training. I just joined this group and saw some comments on total wake time etc.

I think the average time my baby wakes up in total during the day is 7-8 hours. Max 8.5 a few days. Could his hourly wake ups be because of undertiredness? I saw some posts regarding 10h being the appropriate wake time in 24 hrs for his age.

His usually pattern is 45 min after putting him to sleep he wakes up - feeds immediately and sleeps. Then every hour. And then after 4ish am - his sleep is very very light and practically latched every 20-30 mins. I’m dying because of this schedule but also co-sleeping and sidelying feeding all the time as it’s the easiest to be able to get rest this way. If we soothe him any other way - it takes many many mins. When he feeds - it takes him 5-10 mins and never opens his eyes at night. Sleeps between 11-13 hrs at night (with multiple wakes for feeding). Is breast to sleep association the problem or too little wake time during 24 hours? Or both? How can I make it easier for myself?
