Why do Belgaumites keep falling for fake 4% monthly interest scams? Are we that greedy?

I seriously don't understand our city's mindset

First, it was Shivam Associates. Then Growdhan and City Index. Now, hundreds of people are crying outside the DC office because Apex Bizcorp in Tilakwadi ran away with ₹165 crores! The owners apparently escaped to Dubai, leaving local families and middle-class people completely broke.

But let’s be honest: Why do we feel bad for people who blindly give their hard-earned money to random local companies?

How can anyone believe a company will give them 48% interest per year? No RBI approval, no SEBI license, no proper legal papers. People just trusted random WhatsApp messages and fancy promotional events.

Even after the police locked down Shivam Associates, the CID said that people were still transferring money online to their frozen accounts! How blindly can you trust someone?

Is our public so blind for quick money that common sense goes out the window? Or are local big politicians protecting these scam artists, which makes them look genuine?

Let’s stop only blaming the cheaters. Our city has a serious problem with greed and zero financial knowledge. Change my mind.

(I got these numbers online so it might not be accurate but ghanta fark nai padta)

River cruise vs luxury itinerary through Europe

My partner and I have been going back and forth on this for months and cannot land on an answer. We are planning a two week trip through Central Europe in 2027 and keep oscillating between booking a river cruise and just building our own luxury itinerary through the same region independently. The case for independent travel is obvious. Full control, no set schedule, eat wherever we want, stay as long as we like in each place. We have done this before in Southeast Asia and loved it. But the more we research river cruising the more the value proposition starts to make sense, especially at the luxury end. We have been looking at celebrity’s 2027 river launch mostly because the ship design and dining options look genuinely different from what we expected river cruising to be. Eight restaurants and bars on a river ship was not something we saw coming. What we cannot figure out is whether a river cruise actually gives you enough time in each destination to feel like you experienced it or whether you end up feeling like you checked a box and moved on. And for people who have done both independently and on a river cruise through the same region, did the cruise version feel like a compromise or did it actually deliver something the independent trip could not?

Infrared sauna with red light therapy panels, does the combo actually work or is it just two things bolted together?

I use a standalone red light therapy panel and love it. Now I keep seeing infrared sauna with red light therapy panels as a combined unit. My question is whether the RLT in these combos is actually full power or a watered down version they added to justify a higher price.

Anyone used voice AI to fully replace IVR?

We tried a voice AI vendor last year that promised full automation. Worked fine in the demo, then in production it started confirming account changes it had no business confirming, and legal shut the whole pilot down within a month. Burned a lot of trust internally. Now I’m back evaluating and my requirements list looks different this time: Needs to actually replace IVR menu logic, not just sit on top of it. Full audit trail per call, our compliance team wants to see exactly why the AI said what it said. Multilingual, we operate in 4 languages and can’t have this be an English-only pilot. Escalation to a human that doesn’t make the customer repeat themselves. Nice to have: on-prem or EU-hosted option since data residency keeps coming up in procurement calls.

Has anyone actually gone through a real deployment for this vs just a sales demo? What broke for you?

How to choose a dog trainer: let’s collect the red flags

Upfront: I’m not a trainer or any kind of pro, just an obsessive dog mom with a pack of five. Everything I know is hard-won from google, digging through socials, actual dog books, dog apps like woofzand dogo, and a few unfortunate runs with real trainers…Well, a good trainer gets to know your actual dog, not just what they can and can’t do yet. Expect questions about health, temperament, what your dog likes, what scares them, their weird little habits. The best trainers I’ve met paid a ton of attention to what was going on in my dogs’ heads and patiently walked me through why the weird behavior was happening in the first place.

Your dog should feel okay through all of this. Sounds obvious, but sadly I’ve met trainers who think a tense, stiff, or straight up scared dog is a dog that’s ready to obey. Trust your dog, they notice way more than we do.

One program for every dog? C’mon, I hope you guys realize that if dogs are different, then a trainer should have the skill to adapt to any of them.

Also obvious, but NONE of the rigid hierarchy, harsh punishment, force, prong and shock collars, or fairy tales about packs and pack leaders and alphas. You’d think this has been yelled from every rooftop for a hundred years. But no. People still get paid to train like this. PLEASE, this is not a matter of taste or different approaches. Go read the research.

Tell me if I missed anything important. Drop your own red flags, the obvious ones and the not so obvious.

Where can I buy Glassdoor reviews? Struggling to gain reviews

I’m a recruiter at a growing firm, and I’ve noticed that nearly every candidate checks Glassdoor before they even finish reading the job description. Our company page only has a couple of old reviews, and I’m starting to think it’s hurting our applicant numbers.

An empty profile doesn’t build much trust. It got me wondering if companies actually use outside services to buy Glassdoor reviews just to make their pages look more established when they are starting out.

I’ve tried doing this organically by asking our team to leave honest reviews during all hands meetings and sending Slack reminders. But their response has been incredibly low. I don’t want to force anyone, but that gap in feedback feels like it’s costing us good candidates.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Did you find a reliable way to buy reviews, or did you build up your presence another way?

Trying to make sense of the best cold plunge brands, the space feels saturated overnight

Two years ago there were maybe three names. Now every fitness influencer has a brand. I’m trying to figure out which of the best cold plunge brands are actually legit companies with real engineering versus rebadged units with a marketing budget. What’s your framework for separating signal from noise here?
