My OJT exposed my weaknesses

Finished my internship last month, and honestly? The experiences still haunts me. I made mistakes almost everyday. There were days i wish no task will fall onto me but at the same time, i feel insecure when I wasnt provided one.

My supervisor told me. “Parang ganto lang yan e, alam mo yung, parang connect the dots? So dapat magmamake sense yan altogether” pati yung narinig na jokes about sa “Bawiin na natin sa HR yung letter niya”

I was provided real project tasks and i feel like, because of me, project deadlines were pushed back. Starting then, they started entrusting me with low stake tasks.

Honestly, i took everything as it is. I learned a lot because i got schooled a lot. I wasn’t used to doing tasks na mala thesis, kaya mabagal at clumsy ako. I thought what i learned in uni was enough but then i performed badly at my first ever private company HTE.

Anyways, overall, i struggled, finished and overcame it.

I will bring my newfound experience onto my new internship.

i genuinely can't help being lutang. lutang as a child, lutang pa rin as an adult.

I feel like there's so much negative discussion around people who are "lutang". I can attest to this. These discussions are valid as they may be an unavoidable topic of discussion in groupworks, work, orgwork, or any self-sustained or collaborative activity.

Ever since i was a child, as early as grade 1, I've always had bad body coordination. I couldn't follow simple instructions, couldn't connect one dance move to another (things my peers could easily do). Naturally, my advisers (also the choreographers) and parents chastised and excluded me. I also couldn't do sports.

I wasn't like the other kids who were fully attuned to their surroundings. Truthfully, I don't think I was "aware" till the pandemic hit (SHS).

All I know, i was cruising through life and suddenly SNAP. I was aware. Routine and schedules were laid before me, I just had to follow. Suddenly, I had to think for future.

"Follow" I cannot do. I've always had a problem with processing things someone just told me milliseconds ago. I am deaf as fuck. So if the input and RAM is fucked, putangina saan ako pupulutin nito.

There have been many times I lost points or failed a quiz or exam just because I didn't understand the verbally explained instructions. There have been many times I failed a subject because I couldn't grasp the material as fast as peers did, losing same-day assessments on discussions.

Anways, my point is. Sometimes, that lutang person you were talking shit about, actually has a learning disability. Or probably they're not in the right condition to be properly "functional" in your eyes. Who knows. You don't. You jumped on the shit talking train fast.

Being lutang is hard. The best I could describe it is, it's like a momentary out-of-body experience (disassociation). Have you guys experienced not being tethered to your own, singular body? Not a productive activity i'm telling you. It's fun to escape from reality once in a while, but being untethered, unbeknownst to my own knowledge, is freaking scary.

I have always been that lutang girl who make do with the little wit she has. And if you know someone like me, please give them some grace. A push/difficult talk is fine, but please remember, they're aware of their own shortcomings, please don't rub the salt on the wound with the intention to hurt them not to help them. you're no better than a bully.

I believe my shortcomings originate from lack of friends, playing outside and stimulating activities during my formative years. I was barred from playing outside. I can't do sports. I can't dance. All I had is my quiet self who savoured undisturbed time as a learned behaviour from being barred from playing outside.

Stay health and active kids.
I've already joined orgs. I still suck at listening and following orders at my OJT. I'm even a community leader.

I'm legally an adult now. Hays. and I still have old habits brought from grade school. i'm slowly ridding parts of myself, one experience at a time.

I hope everyone knows that they're trying their best with the cards they've been dealt with. And if you're like me feel free to share your story,.

Best Regards,
that person who hasn't reached their full potential yet.

Today, this evening, bumaba ako (F/21) para mag dinner. May nakita akong avocado. Yup, sugod. reminds of that armored titan meme, or erling haaland meme. Basta, for some fucking reason, she dashed toward where I was at the right at the far end of the dining table.

"Oh talaga?

May anger issues. Most of the time, I wonder, why do i struggle with giving and accepting intimacy? Why do I struggle with my speech? Why am I so clueless in things? Why am I so..why am I the way I am. The evidence all points to my mom.

I am an adult now. I know i have to have full accountability of my actions. My impulses. My failings. My time. My morality. All up to me now.

It's so hard to become a better person when I regularly deal with bullshit like "that". All of that family failing detangling for a "raw avocado".

Maybe we're like this because of one of us won't change.

For millenials and gen z alike, may ganto rin ba kayong situation.

She came from the province. She had to rely to a man bring her life up. She doesn't have a life other than being a mom. I understand she has lot of pent up frustrations. She has insecurities with her intellect and it doesnt help that her eldest daughter doesn't back down with poorly-reasoned arguments or/is always outsmarting her in most situations. I know my mom has depressive moments--that's why she didnt talk to me in an affectionate way during my childhood or teens. She did, but those moments didn't really stick to me. She's always been, well, a nagger. She has always been angry. I wish i met my mom when she was still a maiden, still full of dreams for the future and in peace with herself.

Fired from Internship / Internship Termination

Help, i JUST LEARNED YOU CAN GET FIRED FROM YOUR INTERNSHIP?

The cases i've read are from other countries.

Has anyone gotten fired in our country?

If it's alright, could you share your experience? What was the situation and the grounds? Would you discourage people from pursuing their OJT/internship there?

Note: I'm well aware that there are different expectations from an "OJT" and internship internship. I feel like a discussions like this would bring awareness to inexperienced individuals here.

Macbook M5 Pro is nowhere "12-24 hours" of battery use.

Got my macbook recently. Only has been using it this month.

My browser is Opera and I have more than 10 tabs open. I do think opera takes up most of the energy.

But in my full 1 and 1/2 week of use, mainly administrative work, it only lasts to 4-6 hours on average.

How about others? I'd love to know!

People emphasize that your contribution in your HTE is valuable. But, I really am just a trainee. Does that count?

I interned in a research HTE. My working hours is 9 hours (because I need to skip l My tasks are real projects. My tasks get screened and bounced back to me, and I get more insecure the more I get caught making tiny mistakes. Partida, hindi pa siya totoong "research" part. Not gonna provide anything more than that.

I have a hunch I got in because I was expected to perform well because of my university.

The more I spend time, the more I expose myself.

Has anyone have had similar experiences? How do I make the most out of my internship? Will my real "practice work" really have any bearing?

iphone 13 - port not working, nasunog kaya?

At some point ata napindot ko yung bypass before/after nag hang-- di ko maalala.

QCD etc.

My bland personality is correlated to my lack of intelligence and it is lessening my will to live.

Strictly NO reposting on other social media. Please respect my wish.

Long venting ahead. It's somewhat a re-occuring theme in my life hence the oversharing.

--

I have been sad all my life and people definitely know the way I present myself.

I am 20F and I think have only gained conciousness about life (myself, ambitions, academics. everything) during the pandemic. Before that time, I was just going with the flow. Going to school everyday, until the virus outbreak happened--everything came to a halt. I was taken out of a trance. Suddenly, I am someone who have to actively account for myself and coincidentally, I was in a phase of my life where I have to make big decisions that would greatly impact my life: senior high school. I ruminated a lot during this time and I realized: I have a personality of a dry paint. I could only interact with my dorkish small circle of friends whom I only have a relationship with because of proximity. Outside, them? Render me mute because I cannot hold a conversation. I undeliberately stay in my head and I realize, people found it difficult to connect with me because I do not direct my emotions through facial expressions and body language. It doesn't help that my humour and interests are completely different from your average everyday Filipinos (which ironically doesn't swing to the other end of the spectrum because that side finds me too normal.) This will be alluded to later. One thing to also know about me, i had an inflated sense of intelligence. I consistently ranked with honors in high school despite not knowing how to solve for the x and y intercept, and evaluate algebraic expressions. I didn't join competitions. I couldn't debate. I couldn't banter. My teachers didn't know me any better than a name in their class attendance. Still, I thought FOR SOME reason, I was part of the creme of the crop because I was part of the honors list. I didn't know what the frick my thought process was. Strictly NO reposting on other social media. Please respect my wish.

SHS will make or break your college life. So, I decided to go to this adequately popular and nice university. I badly wanted to get out because I realized, man I have been attending said JHS but only one person truly cares and know me. So to start anew, i crafted this perfomance: the likeable kikay artsy girl. I ended up burning out because I couldn't keep the facade because being social attracts responsibility and expectations to you. Strictly NO reposting on other social media. Please respect my wish. DONT TURN MY LIFE INTO AI GENERATED QUICK DOPAMINE FIX SLOP YOU REDDIT STORY SCRAPERS. My classmates expected me to be smart because I was presenting este appeared to be social and active in class. I eventually had to retreat to my social circle of "class rejects" to attract less attention to myself because If I continue--they will notice I cannot keep a conversation going for more than 3 minutes much less i can hold eye contact. I didn't realize at that time, I had a severe case of maladaptive daydreaming. In normal conversations, people do not engage with what I say in a group discussion. I'm that someone who butts in when something interesting is said. I'm lucky if they notice. If I'm extra lucky, my one liner makes one or two person pick up where I commented. If I'm extra EXTRA lucky, they laugh, beam at my joke. I'm that girl who needs a third person to 1-to-1 hangout because my social battery will drain faster than an iphone 10 with 50% battery health.

College came and I wanted to re-define myself. Again. I went for a bigger university and oh boy, I felt like a grade schooler trying to appeal to the ates and kuyas in highschool. I wanted to BE that big college girl with exaggerated facial and body language and CHARIZZZ humour; that girl with colorful eye make-up, shopee knock off leather office shoulder bag and muji-replica binder notebook. I wanted to be IT GIRL that the gays and girls will like. Alas, my mask fell again. I couldn't match my life experiences with my peers. I didn't have a life to really share. I didn't have the connections. I couldn't make a decent relationship. I didn't have the smarts either.

I know, everyone knows, I'm at the bottom of the class. I couldn't hold a memory even if my life depended on it; my failures were permanently recorded in my TOR. The worst of it all, I have been watching my life go through multiple nosedive through the trash because of my bad time management skills driven by i dont know??? undiagnosed depression? long-term sadness and lack of self-worth.

I cannot seem to get out of this cycle of self-destruction. I have other issues that I haven't mentioned but somewhat alluded to. I know I need to take myself less seriously or loosen up as the American sitcoms say. I am the product of bad habits come to life. I don't know how to turn my life around. I'm aimlessly surviving college life.

TLDR: God, I long to be normal with perfect executive function and wit.

---

All these descriptions of myself was well used to describe myself because I can verbalize it better. I didn't see the pattern of my behaviour long-term because I was (still am) very short-sighted (figuratively and literally).

I just needed to get this out of my system really. Any help is welcome.
