Has anyone ever encountered a mimic?

I’ve seen a lot of videos and compilations but could never really find one that convinced me as solid proof.

There are times during the day I would hear a familiar voice prompting me to get up like once I heard a really convincing voice of my boyfriend telling me to get ready to head out.

There was another time where I heard his car keys jingling like he’s ready to head out or on his way out.

I mean it could just me being in and out of sleep being half conscious or other logical explanations but I wanted to know if anyone ever experienced this before?

Apartment 313: The Strange Man Upstairs

[Preview]

As I waited by the lobby, the elevator groaned to a stop.

I tightened my grip, on my keys as the elevator door opens.

The man stood on the other side with the fluorescent lights flickering above him.

Dark circles beneath his eyes and the stench of wet fur and sweat filling the elevator as I bravely step in.

“My apologies, I don’t think I introduced myself properly the other day. My names Arthur, and yours?”

He smiled and stared deeply into my eyes.

There was something unsettling about his kindness, I fell silent. I can hear the sound of my heart pounding rapidly. I didn’t want to respond, I was expecting him to leave.

But he stayed.

Accompanying me on the dreadfully long ride up to my floor.

I felt stupid, I should’ve taken the stairs. I took a huge gulp and smiled with quivering lips, hesitant to tell him my name.

“It’s nice to…to meet you.”

It was apparent, that he saw right through my kindness as well, wiping the smile off his face. He look at me, confused and upset.

My eyes were locked on the elevator screen, relieved to have reached the third floor. I rushed out as soon as the door opened.

“Did I say something to upset you?” His voice fading as I approach my door.

I was so overwhelmed by the encounter I did not want to respond to him, I locked the door and dropped all my things in the living room and stepped into the shower.

As I massaged the bubbly suds of my shampoo into my hair, I hear a soft thud, I figured it was the sound of the pipes inside the wall whirling and gurgling so I didn’t think much of it.

But then the thud shortly followed with a bang.

BANG. BANG. BANG.

Slow, loud and consecutive bangs on the door.

BANG. BANG. BANG.

Startled, I immediately ran out the bathroom, shampoo dripping from my hair. As I retrieve my towel to check to see who was knocking.

I heard the sound of wood cracking, and something crashing to the floor.

A surge of adrenaline hits me, giving me this weird warm sensation as I run to hide in the closet in my room. I covered myself behind boxes of shoes and luggage in hopes of being hidden in plain sight.

“Avery, are you there? Your package was sent to my door.”

Stunned in disbelief, I held in my breath as he walks into my room, the sound of his industrial boots, echoing in my ears.

Who knew complaining about dog poop would lead to this. I should have to kept my mouth shut.

Finally Defeated Ranrok!

This game is amazing, I enjoyed interacting with a story line that connects deeply to my childhood as I remember Harry Potter being the only book I was able to finish reading in a day.

Really engaging and detailed with accurate references a virtual game play you can get lost in!

Cant forget ma boi Sebastian really enjoyed that journey of getting to know about his sister and the curse and the plot of who ended up cursing her.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 here we go!!

I feel alone on my thoughts

Alone in my opinions and thoughts it’s hard for me to share what’s on my mind.

I personally like to discuss what going on but these days I find a lot of people lack morality and sympathy for others to see my perspective. And the worst part is they refuse to let you go even though they have no interest in what you have to say or your perception of things. I hate feeling misunderstood and I hate how my emotions get misread.

Feeling really discouraged with job searching lately

I’ve been applying everywhere and mostly only getting commission-based opportunities. My boyfriend and I share an apartment together and he might be out of a job soon, so I’ve been feeling a lot of pressure to find something stable quickly.

Trying to stay hopeful but honestly starting to lose confidence a bit. I’d really appreciate any encouragement, advice, or suggestions from people who’ve been through something similar or know places that hire fast.

Has Anyone Else Had a Hard Time Getting Hired at Tim Hortons?

I honestly don’t understand what I’m doing wrong at this point.

I’ve been applying to Tim Hortons for years for team member positions and still can’t secure a job there. I’ve applied online multiple times, handed in resumes in person, followed up, adjusted my resume, and even applied to different locations, but nothing seems to work.

I have customer service and hospitality experience, so I didn’t think getting an entry-level position would be this difficult. At this point, I’m wondering if there’s something specific Tim Hortons managers look for during hiring that I’m missing.

For anyone who currently works there or has gotten hired recently:
- Did you apply online or in person?
- What helped you stand out?
- Is availability the biggest factor?
- Do managers prefer referrals?

I’d genuinely appreciate any advice because it’s been really discouraging constantly applying and hearing nothing back.
