The band was supposed to cover my favorite Peter Gabriel song “wallflower“ on an album of Peter Gabriel covers called “and I’ll scratch yours“. But they bailed, citing some kind of interaction they didn’t like. Anybody know anything about this?

He covered “street spirit” on his album “scratch my back”. The idea was, he would cover a song and then that artist would cover his songs, but they walked away from it after committing. Just interested in knowing why.

CFOs: Strategic Planning no longer need to be in the process or on the payroll at big agencies.

Today’s strategic planners don’t hang out in the soap aisle at Walmart or wherever their target market is and talk to real people anyway. At the holy companies, they just sit on their laptops at home and use the same AI anyone can to come up with “insight” and research and focus groups. Don’t need them. I don’t understand why in the acquisition and consolidations, agencies haven’t just gotten rid of those departments. They add very little value and when you consider that a bigger agencies you can have between three and five of them on one little project, it makes no financial sense.

If one more Creative on LinkedIn uses the term “let’s go” after bragging about something, they should probably dismantle LinkedIn.

Advertising creatives are supposed to be original thinkers so and it’s gotten to the point where self parody isn’t even a strong enough term.

Not only for how often he cheated on Jill and his five year old daughter , but the way he writes about it. Watching his five-year-old daughter walk from a cab to his hotel, he writes about how he feels terrible guilt which is something he’s “burdened with”. The whole book is about how he feels, full of self rationalizations . But not a word about how his daughter and wife must feel. He deserves all the terrible things that happened to him later romantically
