From what I've heard, a good part of the episode's premise only works if Columbo wins, but realistically, given the resources Light has access to and his superior intelligence (besides Misa having Shinigami eyes, for example), for Columbo win the episode would have to be intentionally skewed in his favor

From what I heard, the argument for Columbo's victory stemming a lot from Light underestimating him, which would only be true if Columbo was really just an ordinary guy

Light has a huge ego but is also extremely perceptive, if he wasnt he wouldn't survive so many years

If he had a detective of unknown origin on his tail, he wouldn't be guided merely by appearances; he would make sure he was in control and learn his real name with Misa or Mikami, especially if we're talking about his sharpest self during the end of the L era (although at the end of the manga he returned to his previous level with his final plan, though by that point it was too late).

Would they do a Billcord scenario where he kills columbo but his identity is leaked?

Note: Would they ignore the no previous knowledge rule this time since the detectives and in the Kira case know about the Death note for example?

Note 2: How would a mind battle work on deathbattle, would they show multiple recolections of previous actions they did like in the warehouse part of Death Note?
