Does anyone have any idea what the most current recommendations are for cancer screenings for adoptees (of closed adoptions, particularly) who don’t know their family medical history? I don’t know if I should be having mammograms annually or every 2 years in my 40s.

41f. Aggressive ddd, osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis and chronic pain up and down the spine with 8 currently herniated discs. For last 6 months, I have been dealing with cervical spine issues (muscle spasms, radiating pain, loss of range of motion). Initially changed muscle relaxants and had epidural at C5-C6 and C6-C7. Began physical therapy immediately. Pain did not budge and was primarily left side of neck and shoulder with some involvement of left arm. After surgical consult, had bilateral RFA of C5-C6 and C6-C7. Following the diagnostic tests required for the ablation and the ablation itself, arm involvement decreased but pain on right side of neck and into the shoulder blade increased. Continued PT. Had trigger point injections. Muscles will not relax no matter what we do. Tried NMES last week and that seemed to aggravate things. Have been on baclofen, pregablin, diclofenac and tramadol for 6 months. The brain fog is messing with my mental health as is the disruption of sleep due to pain. Physical therapist and physiatrist have only recommended Botox injections at this point as everyone is in agreement that surgery will only start the clock on future surgeries due to the level of degeneration. I’m at my wit’s end. I’m Medicare/Medicaid and blew through my PT sessions for the year and am now paying for those sessions out of pocket because the manual work gives me a day and a half of lower pain level. I can’t keep on the path I’m on but the surgical option is really not a great one. Had first spine surgery at age 23 after the degeneration was discovered at age 22. Does anyone have any suggestions of what might work as treatment for this?
It’s restock day. What does my fridge/freezer say about me?
