Going to Portugal alone, looking for recommendations

Hi there, I fiiinally decided where I’m going during my time off in september. I have about a week (a bit longer even) and was looking into going to Porto.
However, I want to also visit nature and maybe do a little hike because I cannot deal with a week in a city.

So questions:
- are train connections in Portugal easy? Or is another form of transportation more efficient?

- I would like to visit Sintra but it’s quite far away from Porto. Should I take the trip and stay in Lisbon and take the plane back from there? Is it worth the trip?

- Any recommendations for doing trips in nature around Porto? (Or Sintra)

I had a thought

Tw: thoughts of feeling “fat”

We live in an idealistic society where we feel the need to be perfect but also everything is about money anyways.
I had a thought that is meant to be light hearted and a bit unserious but idk maybe it might help someone out there.

Who tf is gonna pay me for being perfect? Is anyone gonna pay me for having thin arms? What is my paycheck for having to spend every day thinking about my body?

Absolutely nothing. I’m not gaining anything. It’s a bit short sighted but thinking these questions have helped me step away from the mirror a bit faster some days haha. Stay dumb ✌️it’s better than thinking too hard.

Empathy in siberians

So my little 2 yo sibbie named Otje always checks on me when I’m crying. Once I had a full on breakdown and she came to lay on my belly to comfort me.
But sometimes when I’m singing loudly (haha oops) or when I’m raising my voice in a conversation (like when I’m frustrated about something and talking about it in an agitated way) or even having a discussion with my bf, she ALWAYS checks on me. She does a little “mmrrr?”, jumps on the couch or chair next to me and stares at me until I pet her and tell her I’m ok, and then she leaves again unless I’m visibly upset. Then she’ll hang around a bit. She would even come downstairs to do that, even when she’s sleeping two floors up.
I sometimes feel bad haha bc usually it’s nothing or I’m just excited about something.

I know this is quite normal and especially with siberians and this is not really a question haha but I was curious about your experiences with them? :)

Recommendations for cat-backpacks

Hi!

So we have walked Otje on a leash since we got her, generally max 500 meter from our home. We have gone outside with her for 2 years now. Not everyday but most days, and during the winter a bit less.

Thing is she's not really a "walker" except on very specific parts of a path where she suddenly starts walking really fast haha. But on lawns, in bushes, near water, ... she just likes to look and play around, climb a little three, run after bugs, etc.

She is still a bit stubborn when it comes to listening and following us though. She has escaped and climbed a large three once, and that was really scary for us and for her, but everything turned out ok. And once a dog got loose and scared her, but she ran straight back to the house (good girl!!).

But now we are considering taking her on potentially longer trips and even taking her camping or hiking. She likes the outdoors so so much, and we hate leaving her with someone else when we go on holidays. So I have three questions:

  1. Is there any way to make her "listen" a bit better? She loves going outside, but she "talks back" to us when we say we are going home haha. We always follow her flow, but if we're gonna do longer trips, she has to be able to follow ours as well.

  2. Do you have recommendations for backpacks or satchels that are comfortable, where she can still look at things? Preferably nothing Amazon/Shein/Temu ish. I'm from Belgium as well so brands will be different here anyways, but I'm looking for advice into the type of bag, more than the actual brand :) and if you do you use a bag, how did you get your cat to be comfortable and happy in them?

  3. What are your experiences with getting your cat in your car? Mine has only done it in a carrier, to bring her to my mother in law to stay with her during our vacations. So she does associate it with us leaving and meows throughout it, but she calms down soon enough after she arrives at her destination.

Sorry that this is a bit long! (Here is she was as a kitten! She turned 2 years old last month)

Shoulder mount success

I’m still not able to lift myself into an invert from a shoulder mount but I have to say, of all the things that felt like a success in my pole journey, the shoulder mount is the most satisfying one.

My instructor warned us that the first months that shoulder mount would feel useless, we did it every single class as a conditioning exercise and she was right. Felt like trying to pull the pole out of the ground with the build of a toddler. And then let’s not speak about that dreaded cup grip.
And then one day? I could lift myself with one leg up. And then one day? Could lift both my legs up.

Insane??? It was partially a mental click, partially a bit more muscle and partially just some tiny changes in technique. How cool is that??

How long did it take you guys?

Hype me up or else

Finally managed a half assed gemini on my own yesterday and yes I see my pole knee isn’t folded enough but at least my toes are stretched 😌

Let’s talk Scaled and Icy hate

I’ve been listening a lot to TØP’s entire discography again and I can’t help but wonder how unfair the SAI hate has been. They have upbeat, poppy sounds throughout their whole discography, ESPECIALLY Clancy but even Vessel (Guns For Hands?? Which is objectively a fan favorite, although not mine) and Blurryface. And still SAI has incredible production value, had such a cool esthetic (which also was a relief after the ugly ass khaki and yellow hahah).

Honestly WHAT SONG has got you guys in such a chokehold that you pretend to hate it that much. It can’t even be that it’s overplayed bc the media completely ignored this album as well.

Ps: I also think there’s more people saying other people hate SAI than people actually hating it so there’s that, me adding to the fuel.

Pps: I know the colours have symbolism ok, take everything with a grain of salt. I just looked like shit in khaki 😢

Chappell Roan

Specifically in this outfit from Reading and Leeds festival, which was vampire themed. She’s still a glittery fairy though so I don’t think it would be too heavy or musky

New clique - what song turned you into a fan?

I have seen the pilots live 5 times back in my prime clique days, but tomorrow I'm seeing them for the first time since before covid and I'm so excited and nervous!!

I was just reminiscing a bit about that period of my life where the clique was like the only thing in my life that mattered haha. And how I actually became a clikkie etc.

And I remember that I did hear Stressed Out on the radio a few times and I actually caught a glimpse of them at a different festival years before that (Vessel era, mind you, I was so angry I missed that afterwards haha). When I started looking into them, it was definitely Holding Onto You that convinced me to becoming a fan, and the ball started rolling.

So question: people that became a fan post-covid, what was the song that convinced you to join the clique? Because the discography became so much bigger with no less than 4 albums since I became a fan back in 2016!! Holy hell.

Older fans can reply too of course hihi I'm just curious.

Help me build my festival outfit no

Ok so the black shirt isn’t it but it’s comfortable haha. I wanted it to be “strappy” like that cool ass villain coat Tyler has been wearing, but it’s also a festival so I added the black ribbon but idk what else to add?? Especially on top. I have a bomber jacket for at night and found an old Trench patch I will attach to it. I’m also wearing converse on one side and docs on the other because I haven’t chosen which one haha. Pleaaaase give me some inspo!!

I’m also adding red tape to my shoulders obviously.

Ps the bolo tie is a goated grammy reference so 😌

Family tree

Hi! I was wondering if any of you got a family tree for their babies? My breeder “promised” me one but when we adopted our sib, it was still being made. I asked her a few times afterwards but didn’t really get any reply.

I don’t see this a red flag necessarily btw, I know this woman and she was never really great with responding only, but always kept her agreements and is an amazing and lovingly caregiver to her kittens.

That being said I also don’t reaaaally care because I didn’t get a purebred cat for the show of it but because I’m allergic to other cats 😂 I just think it could be interesting to see.

Did you get any of that info?

Tips for bruises

I’ve been doing pole for 1,5 years now. I really love it and I love having a female friendly space where I can work out and challenge myself.
I know that I will never look very elegant or pretty, it will always be more of a workout than a type of dance for me.

I’ve always been VERY sensitive to bruising in general, like someone just pushing a finger on my leg would probably cause a bruise.
Usually I don’t mind, especially in winter because I don’t wear very revealing clothes generally. Now with this heatwave I’ve noticed with some moves especially that my arms bruise easily as well. My legs I can cover up a bit easier, but arms are just impossible. They are not as dark and bad as the ones on my leg, but I work in a corporate environment and I do not feel comfortable showing them.

I don’t mind it for myself and I know it’s normal but I also don’t want people to take the wrong conclusions why I’m always covered in bruises.

Tldr: is this still normal after 1,5 years and is there anything to make them heal quicker or prevent them in a way?

What’s up with my sib in this heat wave

With this heat wave we have been leaving our air conditioning on during the day when we are away. Obviously we are all going through it rn with 37 degrees celsius in Europe and I don’t want her to suffer like us.
Thing is… she doesn’t care for the aircon. Warm air always goes up so our attic gets extra warm.

Miss girly just sleeps in the attic all day?? And at night sometimes too, which never does when we are home.

Idk if she just doesn’t have a survival instinct 😂 or that she is simply too cold?

Mind you, the aircon is only on in the kitchen, making our living room a nice mild temperature. It’s not like anything is blaring in her face…

What’s an obscure RDR2 find I should know about

I’m going to start a new playthrough after I lost my 97.7% game (DONT ASK) and I feel like I’ve found most easter eggs like the ghost train in Lemoyne, the zombie weirdos in the bayou, the endangered parakeets. I found the giant, the cave with the cool statues etc.

Is there anything you think is mythical or obscure that I should know about or do/find?

I’m not a mod person so not like “go to New Austin as Arthur”.

I always smell like vanilla

Idk what it is about me but most generic perfumes I try (like the mainstream perfumes like Miss Dior or the Replica perfumes) always dry down to… vanilla?? Is it just me who has this hahaha? Is there a science behind it? Because most of the perfumes I wear don’t even have vanilla notes…

Biking with my cat?

So we have been walking our cat since we got her. She likes it because she likes being outside. She got out of her harness a couple of times, but nothing serious. She’s used to wearing it but still has tendencies to be annoyed if she can’t run after something.

I put her in my bike basket once and even though she was actually pretty good about it, it scared her a bit.

I am now looking to buy a new (better) bike and am thinking of taking her more.
Obviously I won’t do it if she’s not comfortable.

But does anyone have experiences or tips? Just like walking I’m planning on giving her treats and easing her into it, but as she’s not used to it I’m a bit scared she will not be able to learn it anymore, as she’s two years old already now.

She does learn tricks quite quickly but still…
