Between the two OTA updates I have received in the last ~600 miles, and the lower outside temps making me not need climate control as much, this is my current energy economy.
Removed the factory water pump, got the replacement one in place with all the gaskets in place….couldn’t get the heater hose 45° fitting out of the factory pump, noticed the lower radiator hose is bulging, so, I ordered replacements on both of those. Dad replaced the radiator years ago, I guess he didn’t do any of this part. It kept overheating on me, then it leaked all over the garage floor. Trying to fix his old toy so I can drive it when the Texas heat lets up some! I will replace that plastic fuel filter sometime soon.
So, something to ponder. CitiBank closes 300 of Trump ORG accounts, Trump sues stating that the accounts were closed because of Jan 6th, CitiBank replies that they were closed due to AML (Anti Money Laundering) reasons. Fast forward to this week when the Secretary of Treasury removes a requirement of the Treasury IRS, that is to regulate accounts with Beneficial Ownership information stored. He removed the requirement, violating current laws, and ordered the database of beneficial ownership to be deleted. Beneficial Ownership rules are specifically to catch money laundering…..don’t think that this is a coincidence. They are preparing for a bunch more money laundering from Orange, and the others in the oligarch class.

The replacement water pump arrived from Casco, along with the Amsoil Coolant and Amsoil Coolant Boost. Now I get to get messy and get Dad’s car cooling again, and back on the road. I suspect the pump in the car is OE, but the radiator is an aluminum replacement, along with a replacement fan.
Needed to run the car for a bit. Took her out to stretch her legs, and while we were at it, we drove to Momma’s favorite taco shop and picked up some dinner for all of us! Temp kept climbing and staying towards the H. It has a new radiator, I plan on adding the Royal Purple - Purple Ice, and will likely replace the thermostat. Which one should I put in? Can’t tell if it is just the gauge being dramatic or if it is really overheating.
Got tired of the charging pads not holding the phone, just letting it slide all over the place. The charging pads did not have strong enough magnets, the power input wasn’t enough to charge the phone while doing carplay…so, I just installed two of the Rokform magnetic phone holders. These magnets are substantial, the phone shouldn’t move now…and since it is elevated above the plastic, my charging cord won’t be resting on the plastic, scratching it all up.
Picked up the Made in England Gibsons that are made with C.F. Stead leather. Nice pairing against my Horween leather MIE 1460’s. This leather is more rigid than the Horween, and it marks easily…but the color is awesome and the leather almost looks like suede. Nice grab for $125 and free shipping! Have about 20 pairs with all but 2 being Made in England.
She was running a little warm today. Need to take a look at the thermostat and maybe add some additive to cool it down some.

I finally had a chance to do a waterless wash and hydrophobic MAXL treatment on my Solterra. It worked great on all of the surfaces…paint, black plastic trim, black chrome, glass. It really deepened the black color and brought out the mica glitter colors in the paint.
