Is the North XL case that much noisier than the Meshify 3 XL case because of the wooden paneling?

2 questions:

  1. If i use all noctua fans (like in the picture), will there be a big sound difference between the North XL and Meshify 3 XL? (I would really love to have the north xl case. But if the Meshify 3 XL is alot quieter with that layout, i might have to choose that one)
  2. In both case setups, are those good reliable fan setups for cooling and noise?

I am trying to build a quiet air cooling only pc (as quiet as can be with fans of course). Having a quiet pc is important to me, because the pc will be in a rather small room together with my girlfriends pc.

I am now stuck between 2 choices. Problem is that i like the design of the North XL case WAY more because of the wood. But multiple people has raised issues with the wooden paneling, as the wood creates noise/turbulence with the front fans? I would hate to spend a lot of money on noctua fans, only for the wooden paneling to be the big noise source. Its also better to house 3x120mm fans in the front, instead of the 3x140mm fans in the meshify 3 XL. But that would negatively impact the cooling/noise right?

I like the design of the meshify 3 XL way less. But the case gets praised so much for its airflow. That would fit a quieter build very well.

PC specs: 9800x3d, 4070 windforce oc or 5070 ti tuf, X870 Aorus Elite, KLevv cras 2x32gb ddr5 ram, noctua nh-d15 g2

(NL) What is a reasonable price to sell this almost 7 year old gaming pc for? (2 questions)

I am getting a new pc, so i will be selling my old one. This pc is 6 years and 8 months old.

My 2 questions are:
1. How much could i sell this pc for WITH the ssd included? (And into account how old the pc is and the weird quirks it has)
2. How much could i sell this pc for WITHOUT the ssd included? (I am thinking about taking that ssd to my new pc. But this will probably hurt the rate and price that i can sell the old pc for i'd guess? Because then this pc wont be fully operational)

Specs:
- Ryzen 7 3700X
- RTX 4070 windforce OC 12g
- G.Skill DDR4 Ripjaws-V 2x16GB 3200Mhz CL16
- Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE mobo
- Corsair Hydro H100i cpu aio
- Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 PSU
- Samsung 970 EVO 1TB M.2 SSD
- Corsair Carbide 275R White Midi Tower

Weird quirks:
- The powerbutton of the case almost doesnt work anymore. So i disconnected the powerbutton, and added an external powerbutton that is attached with a 1.5 meter cable, that you can place anywhere.
- When i turn off my pc, there is like a 30% change that it will reboot instead. If i turn it off again after that, it will always stay off.
- Sometimes when i put the computer into sleep, it will crash and turn off instead.

How much cooling potential will i lose because of RAM height with Noctua NH-D15 G2

I am searching for a good cpu cooler for my 9800x3d. I have my eyes on Noctua NH-D15 G2, but my ram (kd5bgua80-60a300g) is 44mm tall. 12mm higher then the max of 32mm, so this means i will have to put the fan above the ram 12 mm higher. My question is, how much cooling potential will the cooler lose because of this? It offsets the entire fan and makes it stick out quite a bit. If this actually makes a difference cooling wise, i might have to look for another cpu cooler.

I cant find a definitive answer if these mobo's support my RAM sticks, please help

I need to find a good mobo for my 9800x3d, 4070 OC 12g and my klevv cras v rgb 2x32gb ddr5 RAM (specifically the kd5bgua80-60a300g). Klevv does have a list of compatible mobo's on their website, but i do not understand it at all! On the list, it states that the capacity of all boards is mostly just 16gb or sometimes 32gb, even more expensive boards.

I am looking at buying on of the 2 following mobo's, but i am very interested to know if you have a better mobo in mind:
- Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7
- Gigabyte X870e AORUS ELITE WIFI7

My questions are:

  1. Do these 2 mobo's support my klevv cras v 2x32gb RAM? As in, will they work fine on them?
  2. Can't all newer mobo's fit 2x32gb ram in them just fine? Or do you really need a very specific board for that?
  3. Do you have a recommendation for a good mobo for the 9800x3d/4070/2x32gb ram combo

Thank you so much ♥

Can someone explain what these limited pcie lanes mean and what impact it has? Help please

I am building an am5 computer, and am searching for the right mobo. This is where im walking into a wall. i have 2 ssd's and 1 hdd from my am4 computer that i want to use for the new computer. Its 1 pcie 3.0 x4 nvme 1.3 1tb ssd, 1 2.5 inch SATA 3 480gb ssd, and 1 3.5 inch SATA 3 4tb hdd. I need a mobo that will fit all three. But i keep reading about limited pcie lanes, and that using multiple ssd's/hdd's can maybe slower your gpu or something?

But while reading more and more about it, i just don't understand what it all means and whats the best thing to do. I want a good mobo that can handle my 4070 windforce OC 12g, 9800x3d and 64gb of ddr5 6000 cl30 ram. Is there a mobo where using the 2 ssd's and 1 hdd will not slow my graphics card down?

Is the a good build it yourself pc deal for €2290?

The company Megekko in the netherlands has this build yourself pc package for €2290. Is this a good deal or is it not that interesting for that price? I don't know how to build a pc, so i will also have to pay someone to build it for me.

Specs:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D

Graphics card: VGA MSI GeForce RTX 5070 12G GAMING TRIO OC

Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM:Kingston DDR5 FURY Beast 2x16GB 6000

SSD: Samsung 990 EVO PLUS 1TB M.2 SSD

PSU: MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 II AIO: MSI MAG CoreLiquid A15 360

CASE: MSI MAG PANO 110R PZ Black

The case also comes with 4 preintsalled 120mm fans. It doesn't say which specific fans these are and i don't know if the fan placement is good.

Is it an actual good deal for €2290 in this day and age? Or could you make a better pc for that price? (For example i would way rather have a Fractal Design North XL case build, but if this is a good deal i could make due with it in theory)

Please help me, Upgrade AM4 or invest and switch to AM5?

I feel like the pc part prices are still going to get much worse, before they ever have the chance of maybe getting any better again. AMD is going to rerelease the 5800x3d and release the 7700X3D, and my AM4 pc is about 8 years old. This is a horrible time to have to upgrade your pc, but like I said, I think every moment we wait it will just get worse and worse. So I’m really thinking of getting one of those 2 cpu’s.

The question is if it might be a good investment to make the switch to AM5 now. That would of course be painfully expensive, and it’s going to hurt the bank. But I am a big pc user that games and video edits a lot, so I really value having a “good” pc. I am really afraid that if I don’t invest and make the switch soon, that I will just be completely outpriced in the future and will no longer be able to afford it flat out.

upgrading my 3700x to a 5800x3d will help a lot as well ofcourse, as it would max out the am4 cpu wise. But I’m not sure my 650 PSU is enough to handle the 5800x3d as well. And because my pc is almost 8 years old, wouldn’t I have to replace the cpu watercooler soon anyways? So, I would probably have to make those costs as well if I stick to AM4.

What would you recommend? Thanks for your help
