As a Brit, I'm aware of your major networks like Fox, NBC, ABC, etc., but also that towns/cities/etc. have their own stations that have names which are 4 letters usually starting with KY that do stuff like the news.
From what I've seen some(?) of those stations are affiliates of larger networks, how does that work exactly? Are all of these local stations affiliates? How close is their link to the big networks? Like, will someone in New York not see a listing on their TV for Fox but will have say KYNQ New York which is in fact their local fox station that has the same schedule as every other fox affiliate station? Or is it more they have a deal with bigger networks to show their shows alongside the station's own content?

Hi all, I'm about to visit the city, specifically in Sant Adrià de Besòs, and although I'll be using public transport to get around within it, I also plan to visit a friend further afield, which would be easiest done with a car.
I don't want to have to rent a car for the entire trip, so are there any short term car rental app that cover the city where you just sign up and pick a car up off the street? I've seen getaround mentioned, is it any good? Any better alternatives?
