Why does Hilton add fees towards the end of booking?

Plenty of cities charge a municipal tourist tax for hotels which is perfectly fine, however every time I book at the Hilton these fees aren't added until I get the bill on the last day and it's included. I always have to argue with the front desk about the extra 10-30$ in fees they've just decided not to tell me about and they end up removing them or crediting them from my invoice because the fees didn't show up when I booked the room.

This has happened 3 times before I noticed it's consistent occurence, I'm going to avoid hilton from now on.

It really seems like Hertz in Toronto doesn't actually have any interest in running a business

I got a new job in Toronto a few months ago that requires me picking up a rental car several times a month and being right in Toronto I have the option of Enterprise or Hertz.

I've found that Hertz has worse hours, worse vehicle availability, is more expensive, and poor customer service, both over the phone and in person.

I rented a car once and the sales person signed me up for pre-paid fuel without telling me. I didn't realize until I saw the paperwork after. I checked the reviews and there are plenty of reviews saying the same thing.

Because I have to do lots of last minute pick ups I try to call the rental place and see if they have any availability before making the trek over there, and I have never had a Hertz location pick up my call. When I tried to call in order to quote a price to change my drop-off location, I got transferred several times because instead of transferring me to a Canadian hertz agent they kept sending me to other American ones. Once I got a hold of someone who could access the Canadian system, they told me I was not allowed to drop off at another location, which given my work, was a large pain in the ass.

I really can't wrap my head around how Hertz stays in business in Toronto. So far I've spent about $3,000 in rentals at Enterprise and have decided to not even bother with Hertz for vehicles. I've instructed the new hires on their first week to create Enterprise accounts and use them instead. Tens of thousands of dollars monthly diverted from Hertz to Enterprise.

If you owned a black puma backpack, it's in the possession of a lovely gentleman who ate all of your prescription pills and rummaged through your bag.

Witnessed a guy running with a black bag down Queen St W. stop right infront of me and rummage through it crouched on the ground a-la dobby style. Proceeded to throw the clothes around, grab three (may have been more?) prescription bottles, open them up and ingest them all and throw the empty bottles onto the road. There was a teal bottle on the side of the backpack, clothing, and I think I saw a teal/blue stick of deodorant.

He then turned around and screamed at me before getting into the street car.

Just an FYI if you had any hopes of getting your bag back... maybe make an appt to get a refill.

Couldn't make it for the first Toronto FEAST assessments, do I have to re-apply for the new posting?

I was offered a block of dates for the FEAST assessments in Toronto during the last hiring process but I couldn't attend any and selected the option that said I was unable to attend those ones.

How do I let NavCanada know that I wish to attend FEAST for this round of hiring? Is it automatic?

An accounting firm in Edmonton, AB has requested a LMIA to hire a foreign worker for an Administrative Officer for $36.00 per hour. No experience is required for the position.

No experience is required for the position, but you do need to have a college diploma. If they are paying $36.00 per hour, this is a great opportunity for a college or university graduate in a city of over one million people!

Here is a list of the employer's previously approved LMIAs. They received approvals for a total of 6 Bookkeepers from 2019 to 2023 and then an Administrative Officer in 2023.

Coincidentally the wage they are offering is the exact wage needed to qualify for the High-Wage Stream in Alberta. If they offered any less than that their LMIA would be refused because of the high unemployment rate in Edmonton.
