Are you given time off for England matches?

My workplace (solicitor's firm) let us go early for the England v DR Congo match, and we're allowed a late start after the England v Mexico match.

I just wondered how common that is! My public sector (NHS) mother and sister aren't allowed time off, and my brother-in-law's company are showing the match at work during work hours (he does shifts) but doesn't get to leave/start early.

Edit: Just to clarify, I really don't care about the matches, I don't think it should be an automatic thing. I am more surprised that my firm DOES rather than other firms DON'T. I'm not going to say no to an early finish though!!

Find me some shoes! On the lookout for red patent leather mary janes

Hi all!

I need your shoe hunting skills. I have a pair of cheap New Look shoes but they're (literally) falling apart, so I need an upgrade.

Looking for:

- Mary Jane style strap (NOT T bar)

- bright red (think cherries not burgandy)

- real leather (ideally patent)

- stiletto heel (not blocky or flat)

- good quality

The person who finds these will have my everlasting love!

Repairing colour peeling

Hi,

Some of the colour has sort of scuffed off my shoes. They are my FAVOURITE shoes so please advise if a repair is possible and how to protect my shoes going forward!

Where is the best place to get a new battery for my Mazda 2?

I have been advised I need a new battery for my Mazda 2 (16 plate, petrol, 1.5l).

​

I have been quoted £285 from RAC which seems steep, but I am not confident in making sure I get the right replacement.

The RAC guy who came out to get me moving again said something about a stop start battery being necessary due to some back end operations (??). I used to use the stop start function but it broke years ago (probably because the battery is crap). I don't know if it is better to use that or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated xx

Full mouth rehabilitation

Hiya,

I've just had my dental treatment plan. I've got a metric fuck ton of fillings (he's taking everything I have out and putting new ones in) and implants at the back.

A rather significant part of my reason for going to the dentist was to improve the colour, but that isn't mentioned anywhere in the treatment plan, just the composite fillings in my front teeth (buccal, distal, and mesial on 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, and 23).

What should I ask for? Veneers? Whitening? I'm not a huge fan of the idea of whitening as it seems less customisable and has more upkeep over time.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

What should I ask for? Veneers? Whitening? I'm not a huge fan of the idea of whitening as it seems less customisable and has more upkeep over time.

Lost stud of a retired pair of earrings

I have lost the crystal stud of a pair of earrings that mean a lot to me, but are now retired. I bought them on a cruise in April 2019.
