IT’S TOO COMPLICATED!!!

I’m 16 for context

I was up the whole night last night and now it’s morning. I can’t figure this shit out. I know this isn’t a useful post or anything but I’m just in need of validation I think. The way I feel about people is just so complex and I’m sick of people telling me that non-sexual relationships are just friendships. Please help me Reddit

Why is cinnamon sweet?

Everywhere online that I read says that “it tricks your brain as you associate it with sweet foods”. I just ate part of a cinnamon stick, and found it quite obviously sweet. I’m very confused here. It’s not just spicy and bitter, it’s actually sweet. Like on my tongue. This is either nature’s best illusion or there is actually something making it sweet.

I’m just curious if this is due to there being actual sugar in the cinnamon, or if it’s like Star Anise and Liquorice where it’s a sugar-free sweet compound.

Anyone know what’s going on here? Could my cinnamon sticks be sweetened? I have both types from different brands and both taste very sweet to me.

How is the largest body of water defined?

For Hide and Seek, is the largest body of water only counting water that is within the zone? Because then a lake could be bigger than the ocean if the ocean was on the edge of the zone. But if the whole body of water counts, than surely even small rivers and streams would be bigger than lakes most times, given they are quite long. How is this measured?

Is Alaska in the mix?

On the layover they mentioned that one team could claim Alaska for the area bonus. Does that mean that there is an Alaska card and challenge?

What about Hawaii then? I can’t think of any reason why anyone would go to Hawaii so I’m guessing not.

People who claim that food allergies are a first world problem

It doesn’t matter where you live. It doesn’t matter what your economic status is. Anyone can have a food allergy. And for many serious allergies, starvation would be a better choice than eating the food.

I’ve heard this sentiment a lot and as someone who lives in a developing country and knows someone with serious food allergies, I honestly don’t understand it. Anaphylactic shock is just as bad as famine.

I’ve been growing a Makrut lime seedling for a few months. It doesn’t smell or taste like Makrut though. The leaves just taste kind of grassy.

Could it be a regular lime then? It seems to have double leaves so I’m not sure

What in the damnation is Forgotten Languages?

I feel like I’ve stumbled across something weird but can’t seem to find an explanation for what this is. There seems to be a very active Reddit community for this but zero explanation. Is it related to linguistics? I’m so confused

Anyone else have crazy losing streaks?

Like I’m currently a gold 1 usually I win pretty much all my games. This week I played like 25 duels and only lost 2. Then I just played for like an hour and lost like 20 games in a row and didn’t win a single one.

Anyone else like this?

I play no move btw

Can someone please explain the maths from the game they played in South Korea? My brain hurts

I’m talking about the game where you want to get the middle number.

Like obviously you don’t pick 1 because no one can go lower. So then you don’t pick 2 because no one will pick 1. So no one should pick 3, no one should pick 4, etc etc.

This is really confusing me and I don’t quite understand. Like I guess it’s because you have to pick a number? But it still hurts my brain

Can I substitute Makrut Lime Leaves for the zest?

I can’t find the limes online for an affordable price but I have a small plant that produces leaves. Can I pound a few leaves into my curry pastes as a substitute? Will it massively change the flavour?

Or does anyone know where I can find the limes for a somewhat affordable price online? Thanks
