I’ve Seen some Complaints about Blades Black unity/Junteenth Spray that Netease absolutely cooked with even tho it was probably on accident and I will explain why it’s actually Perfect.
To start off with Blade was Based off of a composite of Black Actors Primarily Jim brown.Who was a famous Football Player Blaxploitation Actor and Black Rights Activist he has been Revised Over the years To be less of an Outright copy paste of Shaft and much more of his own style of Deadly cool hunter. But he still retains a good amount of his Blaccent Blade has never spoken or sounded like he was from London even tho he was born there because it is a chicken or egg first type of situation he was Vampire hunting Shaft before he was Blade from London.
His reason for being created is literally that there was not many Black heroes at the time of his creation Wolfman had been denied the opportunity to Make a black Hero at DC and was determined to Add one into the World later in his career.
Jim Brown who Blade was based off of was an insanely successful Man who was Determined to fight for Civil Rights and Empower the Black community Now I’m not crazy enough to Think Anyone at netease has done an insane Deep dive Into Blade and Jim brown’s History to know All of that But I do honestly believe they have some Idea of it Because Blade was also the Black history Hero in Marvel snap Recently
Jim brown and Blade are amazing Pieces of Black history and it was an amazing mistake I think but it almost feels like a direct shout out to His efforts when I see his And other Black actors character Still speaking up or fighting to Empower the Black community or speaking for Black unity Today.
I understand some of the complaints about oh these are just scrapes and other complaints but to not acknowledge the significance of this to me is insane.
Beyond that Blade was freed from Dracula on Juneteenth also this is also a celebration of that
