How to get all the nutrients you need in a day with a few cheap staple foods (plants in particular)?

I'm bulking on a budget. My problem is, I'm getting most of my calories from stuff like milk/butter/sugar. Buying and preparing a large variety of produce poses a few issues: it means most of it goes bad before I can use it and has too few calories for its volume (I have very little time to eat before work and I can't eat during). When I eat fresh fruit and veg, I stop eating way before I should and end up eating too few calories. With my job basically being nonstop physical labor, that poses a huge problem -- I get headaches, dizziness, and lightheadedness and end up having to sit out for a while.

What are some cheap, nutritionally dense plant- or plant-based foods I can get in bulk at any grocery store where I can cover all the vitamins and minerals I need during the day before getting too full?

Pistachios fit my macros really well and they're damn healthy, but they're like $200/gram.

How do people find such niche ways of making money?

I read this thing about there is a whole genre of artists who sculpt racehorses for a living and make 10k+ per sculpture (where other sculptors don't make 1/100th of that). Some of these sculptures can fit on your desk.

Others sculpt maybe once per year because their sculptures go for 100k+, SPECIFICALLY because they're racehorses.

How do people find such niche lucrative work (more than that, how would I go about doing it myself)?

Looking for an mp3 player with 1+ tb of space

I'm looking to switch from stre*ming to Owning my music. I have a lot of it, however.

any recommendations for MP3 players that have both aux and bluetooth, and maybe can run multiple file types (wav., flac.)?

recommendations for mp3 players with 1+tb of storage?

I'm looking for something with both aux and bluetooth. If it can use Wav. files as well, that would be even better.

PH from FL here. How to prepare for peak heat?

I've been working here for almost 8 months. It's usually about 95 degrees fahrenheit when I go into work, but now it's getting closer to 100. It's only June. It's probably going to get to 100F regularly in July and early August.

I'm already having to take a break every 30-45 minutes to go to the air conditioned bathroom on the other side of the warehouse and douse myself with cold water. I blow through 4-5 35oz bottles of cold water during an average shift. I have a cold towel I drape across the back of my neck to help cool off. I'm wearing as little clothing as the dress code allows.

Even doing all that, the heat exhaustion is debilitating, and it's only going to get worse from here.

What else can I do to cool off? Specially designed clothes? A breathing technique?

Are my doctors misinforming me?

I was prescribed clonidine and desipramine. 3 days after starting both, I was working out when I got insane heart palpitations/pounding, full-body chills (despite the warm temperature), shortness of breath (to the point where I was open-mouth panting), lightheadedness, and profuse sweating. I could barely pick up a weight plate to out on the bar without my heart pounding and I couldn't do even a fraction of my normal volume. I had to cut the session in half.

Both say this is because of one of the medications, but I hadn't taken my daily dose of clonidine before the workout in question, and I had only taken the desipramine 3 times prior (and it takes several weeks to start working).

Am I being misinformed?

How do I clean my home?

I saw this video of a lady... cleaning her washer and dryer.

It didn't even occur to me that I should be doing that.

You mean I have to clean EVERYTHING??

I vacuum maybe once every two weeks, if that. I mop once a month or less. I wash my dishes. When I notice the sink, countertops, or shower getting gunky, I clean that. I wash my laundry occasionally. That's pretty much all I do. And I can barely keep up with it.

What am I SUPPOSED to be doing and how? What else am I missing? What cleaning products do I need? How often should I be cleaning?

What am I doing wrong? Gaining no muscle and just fat

I (22AFAB, 5'9", 170 lbs.) have been lifting since last July.

I have been eating 3,000 calories and 150 grams of protein per day. I lift 4x per week doing an upper/lower body split and hit 15 hard sets per muscle group, always at 1-2 (or fewer) RIR.

I work for 4 hours a day Monday-Friday as a package handler.

I haven't put on practically any muscle since I started this job last October.

None of my lifts are much better than they were at that time. My best improvement was my romanian deadlift, which went from 175 to 200 lbs. (repping. I haven't tested my 1RM in a while).

My bench has gone from 100 to 110 lbs. since then.

At first, I thought I wasn't eating enough, so I started eating 3,500-4,000 calories per day and ended up *gaining fat*, and *rapidly*.

I know because none of my lifts went up, I didn't see ay progress in photos (other than losing my lower abs), and I gained 10 lbs. on the scale.

so to clarify, I was eating juust enough not to gain fat before, but was making no progress and gaining no muscle, so I ate more and ended up only gaining fat even though I eat enough protein, and lift hard and frequently enough.

What am I doing wrong?? why aren't I making any progress or gaining any muscle?

How long until I adjust to the heat?

The book says 2 weeks, but that's a load of crap.

I'm a package handler in Florida. During the winter, I regularly moved 450-550 boxes per hour without exhausting myself. It's now averaging 90° outside and I can't pull 280 without feeling like I'm about to collapse.

I have to walk the length of the warehouse every 45-or-so minutes to get to the nearest air-conditioned room to cool off. I can't bend over for too long without feeling faint upon going upright, or at least having to stand there and pant for a while.

It doesn't help that my workload recently doubled out of nowhere for no reason and we have been completely unsuccessful at recruiting enough people to handle that.

I am entertaining the thought of quitting, which sucks because I honestly love -- or *did* love -- this job.

How long until I adjust to this?

Note: I bring myself a cold sports drink every day and easily blow through upwards of 160oz of water during my shift. I have a cooling rag from my days as a runner to help cool my neck, as well.

Tried moving to Quobuz, but over half my library wasn't on their platform. Any streaming services with more complete libraries that aren't Spotify, apple music, or amazon music?

I'm trying to switch from spotify to another streaming service for political reasons. So far, I can't find a service that has at least 50% of my spotify account's library. Any suggestions?

IWTL how to fix my nose blindness

My cat peed on my bed and I didn't figure it out until I was laying on it and felt that it was wet. All over my head and back. And now I have to stay up for 3 hours into the night after a hard shift at work from which I returned at midnight to clean everything.

I would LOVE to be able to know if there is a three-cubic-foot zip-code-sized zone of cat pee in a very small, poorly ventilated room before sitting down on said cat pee.

Can you really just wander around wherever you want?

I'm from Florida and I need to find some place to vacation where I can't hear cars or planes or see light pollution. ... Or feel much humidity.

I have seen several posts here where people just walk through the desert. Like, unowned land you can just. Walk through.

Is that true?

How to rest?

No matter how much sitting around doing nothing I do, I'm always tired (both mentally and physically), even on days when I get more than enough sleep.

I've heard advice like going for walks and doing hobbies, but I find that doesn't help me. Even though I love my hobbies, it takes energy to do them, and I'm trying to restore my energy, not expend it further.

It feels like there's not enough vacationing or laying on the floor in the world to make me feel rested.

How do you guys rest and recharge your brains during the day, particularly in the wake or anticipation of effortful and/or cognitively demanding work?

I started trying to lucid dream about 4 years ago and gave up after a year and some change of trying with no results. I want to get back into it and it's important that I do.

One of my biggest issues with doing MILD + WBTB is that, when I focus on the technique, I can't fall asleep. Whenever I catch my mind drifting (usually takes about 15 seconds) and refocus myself on the technique, I become more awake. (I also tried that one where you cycle through all your senses and that didn't work either for the same reason.)

I'm not sure how this is important, but I hear that it is, so I will say that I am diagnosed with ADHD and ASD.

How do I circumvent this?

I am super insensitive to medications of all kinds. I've been on fluoxetine, guanfacine, wellbutrin, strattera, lexapro, trintellix, vyvanse, adderall, 5-HTP, ritalin, buspirone, and some other stuff I can't remember right now, and none of it works -- either at all or for more than 1 month.

The only ones that work for a little while are the stimulants. When I first tried both adderall and vyvanse, I could go as little as 10 mg and I could focus without side effects. A month later, I was up to max dosage and all that would happen is I'd get sleepy and/or anxious. I could stop cold turkey with no side effects, as well.

I got to max dosage with all of the above medications and either nothing would happen or I'd get side effects. Tritellix made me so depressed I was told to get back in touch with my IOP.

Why? Does anyone else experience this? How can I fix this?
